"On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump took a break from the politics of Washington, D.C., to do something he saw as more important — visit wounded warriors and wish them a merry Christmas.

During his unannounced visit, Trump personally awarded one soldier — 1st Lt. Victor Prato of the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion — the Purple Heart. Prato, 25, suffered soft tissue injuries last month as a result of IED blast that made his vehicle turn over, according to The Hill.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was particularly moved when the president presented Prato with the award, noting on Twitter that seeing the president confer this honor on an “American Hero” was “One of the most powerful moments of my life.”
“Amazed by the strength and resilience of the men and women in our Armed Forces,” Sanders wrote.

Trump’s unannounced visit came without any fanfare.
“I’m heading over right now to Walter Reed Military Medical Center to say hello to some of the bravest people anywhere in the world,” the president told reporters prior to boarding Marine One.
“We’re just going to wish them a merry Christmas, a happy new year and we love those people,” he concluded, before walking toward the helicopter.
White House of Staff John Kelly, a retired Marine general, accompanied Trump to Walter Reed, according to The Hill.
News outlets were able to record some of Trump’s interactions with veterans at the hospital, but without any sound, making it difficult to hear what the president was saying.

It’s not the first time Trump has quietly — without any fanfare — honoured the sacrifices made by those who serve in the United States armed forces.
In February, the president and his eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, departed the White House on Marine One. Reporters had no idea where they were going until the White House put out a news release explaining where they had gone and why.
The Trumps had traveled to Dover Air Force “for arrival of remains of a US commando” killed in Yemen during a raid on al-Quaida, according to the Independent Journal Review.
“The death,” the White House noted at the time, “occurred during the first counter-terrorism operation of the Trump presidency.”

"“Merry Christmas” from President Trump

by James Buchanan
One year ago, we still had Barack Obama in the White House. No one ever expected him to say “Merry Christmas.” Only the politically correct “Happy Holidays” would ever come out of his mouth if he even bothered to make a statement on Christmas day. His big holiday was Ramadan, which he would spend with his fellow Muslims.

Image

There’s been an escalating war on White people, on our culture and on Christianity, going on for over 20 years. Every once in a while, the enemy would ratchet up the war and something that was perfectly acceptable the previous year was now the height of political incorrectness.
Now the tables have finally been turned on everyone, who hates White culture. Americans can say “Merry Christmas” to each other once again, and if any liberal snowflakes want to run off crying to H.R., don’t expect a safe space because the President is standing up to political correctness, and he just told us that the religion of the majority doesn’t have to go into hiding because of mentally unhinged Social Justice Warriors and cultural Marxists.

A Daily Telegraph article reports “President Donald Trump… promised a return to traditional American values, including restoring “Merry Christmas” to the national discourse.”

“Mr Trump, the first sitting president to address the Values Voter Summit, ticked off the promises he’s fulfilled to evangelical Christians and other conservatives, pledging to turn back the clock in what he described as a nation that has drifted away from its religious roots.”
“‘How times have changed, but you know what, now they are changing back again, just remember that,’ he told the cheering crowd.”

This is a great time for America, and it’s a great opportunity to wish everyone a “Merry Christmas” especially the easily triggered liberals, who can’t admit that they lost last year’s election."

"Vice President Mike Pence visited the U.S. troops stationed in Afghanistan to share a special Christmas message.
“And for all of you who, like my family, in the coming days will look to a manger, and who will once again in your hearts claim the promise announced on a holy night — of peace on Earth and good will toward men — let me say, from the First Family and my family, from families all across America: Merry Christmas,” he said in his speech to U.S. service members. Pence also passed on Trump’s best wishes to the troops in his speech. During Pence’s trip, President Donald Trump was visiting wounded warriors at Walter Reed Medical Centre with his own Christmas message. “We’re just going to wish them a merry Christmas, a happy new year and we love those people,” Trump said before boarding Marine One. The Vice President had one last message to the troops in Afghanistan in honour and memory of fallen soldiers and to “let their families know that we will never forget their service or sacrifice in Afghanistan.”He quoted the Bible and said, “No greater love is a man than this, that he should lay down his life for his friends.”“And to all of you, may God bless you. May God bless all who wear the uniform of the United States here in Afghanistan and across the wider world,” Pence concluded. “May God bless the good people of Afghanistan and may God continue to bless the United States of America.”

Why is the vocal of video not President Trumps voice? Obviously a false video, but the following text seems genuine:

"Text of a Letter from the President to the Congress of the United States
LAW & JUSTICE
Issued on: December 21, 2017

"TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES:

Pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.) (IEEPA), I hereby report that I have issued the enclosed Executive Order (the “order”) declaring a national emergency with respect to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States posed by serious human rights abuse and corruption around the world. In addition to taking action under IEEPA, the order implements the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act (Public Law 114-328) (the “Act”) and delegates certain of its authorities.

The order blocks the property and interests in property of persons listed in the Annex to the order. It also blocks the property and interests in property of any foreign person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Attorney General:

(1) to be responsible for or complicit in, or to have directly or indirectly engaged in, serious human rights abuse;

(2) to be a current or former government official, or a person acting for or on behalf of such an official, who is responsible for or complicit in, or has directly or indirectly engaged in:

(a) corruption, including the misappropriation of state assets, the expropriation of private assets for personal gain, corruption related to government contracts or the extraction of natural resources, or bribery; or

(b) the transfer or the facilitation of the transfer of the proceeds of corruption;

(3) to be or have been a leader or official of:

(a) an entity, including any government entity, that has engaged in, or whose members have engaged in, any of the activities described in (1), (2)(a), or (2)(b) above relating to the leader’s or official’s tenure; or

(b) an entity whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to the order as a result of activities related to the leader’s or the official’s tenure; or

(4) to have attempted to engage in any of the activities described in (1), (2)(a), or (2)(b) above.

The order also blocks any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Attorney General:

(5) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of:

(a) any activity described in (1), (2)(a), or (2)(b) above that is conducted by a foreign person;

(b) any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to the order; or

(c) any entity described in (3)(a) above where the activity is conducted by a foreign person;

(6) to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to the order; or

(7) to have attempted to engage in any of the activities described in (5) or (6) above.

In addition, the order suspends entry into the United States of any alien listed in the Annex or determined to meet one or more of the criteria above.

I have delegated to the Secretary of the Treasury the authority, in consultation with the Secretary of State, to take such actions, including adopting rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA and the Act, as may be necessary to implement the order and relevant provisions of the Act. I have delegated to the Secretary of State the authority to take such actions, including adopting rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA and the Act, as may be necessary to implement the provisions of the order and the Act suspending entry into the United States of certain aliens. All executive departments and agencies are directed to take all appropriate measures within their authority to implement the order.

"The holidays are a time to show respect for those who serve us. President Donald Trump just did this in a major way — and it put Barack Obama to shame.
As most of you likely know, the president is spending his Christmas break at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. That takes a considerable amount of security presence, and not just by the Secret Service.
What you probably didn’t know, however, is how the Trumps treated those who were assigned to the security detail. It didn’t get a lot of play in the media — although CNN’s Noah Gray tweeted about it.

Yes, police, Secret Service and the people of the White House Military Office were all treated to “a full Christmas spread” at the request of the president — and all out of the president’s pocket, without a dime apparently spent for the dinner by taxpayers.

They even made sure that every shift got a meal by offering meals.

That’s a pretty big move to begin with, but it looks positively great when you consider the previous White House’s acrimonious relationship with the nation’s police. It was so bad that in summer of 2016, right after five Dallas police officers were shot and killed during a Black Lives Matter march, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations said that then-President Obama had engendered a “war on cops.”

William Johnson said that the “continued appeasements at the federal level (by the Obama administration) with the Department of Justice, their appeasement of violent criminals, their refusal to condemn movements like Black Lives Matter, actively calling for the death of police officers, that type of thing, all the while blaming police for the problems in this country has led directly to the climate that has made Dallas possible.”

As 2017 comes to an end, it’s always a good time to reflect on what made this year different from last year — especially in politics.
At least at the White House, one thing that’s very different is a palpable respect for law enforcement. That newfound level of respect has made itself known in a number of ways, but the spread that was paid for out of the president’s pocket is a pretty effective symbol for the whole thing.
What the Trumps did on Christmas wasn’t the kind of thing that the Obamas were known for. The last president and his family kept their distance from law enforcement and those assigned to protect them. Trump, apparently, is changing that in a huge way."

"On Christmas Day, President Trump released a message, posting a video to Twitter in which he said:
“In the season of joy, we spend time with our families, we renew the bonds of love and goodwill between our citizens and most importantly we celebrate the miracle of Christmas.
As Christians we remember the story of Jesus, Mary and Joseph that began more than 2000 years ago. As the book of Isaiah tells us, for into us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders and he will be called wonderful counsellor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace. This good news is the greatest Christmas gift of all, the reason for our joy and the true source of our hope.”

"Trump agenda as it was laid out to the American people, was the return to law and order. No longer would the President allow criminality to run amok in our nation’s streets, and there would be no pity for those who choose to willingly disavow the tenets of our grand society.

This ethos has now come home to roost in a big way, as law enforcement statistics are now demonstrating.

“The number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty dropped sharply in 2017, marking the second-lowest toll in more than 50 years.

“As of Thursday, 128 officers have died in the line of duty this year, with 44 shot and killed. That’s down 10% from 2016, when 143 officers died, with 66 gunned down, according to data released by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, a nonprofit aimed at honoring officers and improving safety.

“The only other year with fewer deaths in the past five decades was 2013, when 116 officers were killed.

“‘This is one of those good-news, bad-news situations,’ said Craig Floyd, president and chief executive of the fund. ‘On one hand, you had 128 officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, showing the cost of public safety, but for the first time since 2013, the number of deaths has actually declined.'”

"The Israeli government intends to honour U.S. President Donald Trump by placing his name on a new train station that will be built next to the Western Wall.

Israeli Transportation Minister Israel Katz says the decision was made in response to President Trump’s declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and his decision to begin the process of moving the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv.

“The Western Wall is the holiest place for the Jewish people, and I decided to name the train station that leads to it after President Trump — following his historic and brave decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel,” Katz said.

The new Trump train station will be part of a larger construction project connecting Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by high-speed railway, The Jerusalem Post reports.”

"How Donald Trump turned tide of illegal immigration in first year: Border crossing hits 45-year low - Washington Times.

Illegal border crossing tumbled to a 45-year low and interior arrests of illegal immigrants soared in 2017, according to data released Tuesday that showed President Trump’s enforcement crackdown netted tangible results during his first year on the job.

The numbers, released by the Department of Homeland Security, reflected a stunning turnaround from the nearly nonexistent interior enforcement of immigration laws under President Obama.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported 310,531 apprehensions nationwide in fiscal 2017, which ended Sept. 30, a decline of 25 percent from a year earlier and the lowest level since 1971.

Nearly all of the Border Patrol arrests — 303,916 — were along the southwestern border, which the agency said underscored the need for a security wall that Mr. Trump wants to build."

"In 2009, Iran was swept by demonstrations, just as it is now. But at that time, the protesters were shouting “Allahu akbar,” and there was no indication that they wanted anything but reform of the Islamic regime, not the end of the regime itself. This time, however, the protesters have been chanting: “We don’t want an Islamic Republic!” “Clerics shame on you, let go of our country!” Some have even chanted: “Reza Shah, bless your soul!”

What has changed? Donald Trump.

Reza Shah was the Shah of Iran from 1925 to 1941 and the father of Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, the Shah who was overthrown in the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Reza Shah admired Turkey’s Kemal Ataturk and set Iran on a similar path of Westernization and secularization. In chanting this, the protesters are emphasizing that they do not just want economic reforms, as has been the line of the establishment media in the West. Nor do they want an Islamic Republic that is less corrupt. They don’t want an Islamic Republic at all.

Now why would Trump have anything to do with this? Because he has been singular among the leaders of the world, and the Presidents of the United States since 1989, in demonstrating his readiness to stand up to violent intimidation. President Trump has already made it clear in so many ways, most notably by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Clinton, Bush, and Obama all spoke about Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, but backed off from recognizing the fact as official U.S. policy, for fear that Muslims would riot and kill innocent people, and that such a recognition would jeopardize the chimerical and fruitless “peace process.”

So should terrorists decide where our embassy should be? Trump was not willing to concede this point. And when one man shows that bullies can be confronted and stood down by people with courage, others are inspired to make the same kind of stand. This new Iranian uprising came just weeks after Trump’s Jerusalem announcement, after the threatened rage and riots of Muslims worldwide in response to that announcement proved to be largely a fizzle.

Is it a coincidence that the Iranian people have stood up to the forces of jihad intimidation just after the President did so? Maybe. But if so, it’s a marvelous one, and in either case it’s illustrative of the power of courage in an age of cowardice.

For here again, even if the Iranian freedom movement has nothing to do with Trump, it is certain that these demonstrations would already be over, and may never have begun, if Hillary Clinton were President of the United States right now. Confronted with those 2009 demonstrations that did not go as far or demand as much, Barack Obama betrayed the demonstrators to every grisly fate that the mullahs could devise for them in their torture chambers. Bent on concluding the disastrous nuclear deal that lined their oppressors’ pockets with billions and set the world on a path to a catastrophic nuclear attack, Obama ensured that the U.S. government didn’t lift a finger or offer a word of support for the protesters, even as they were being gunned down in the streets.

But now the man who is setting the tone is a different man. Trump has come out strongly in favor of the protesters, tweeting: “Many reports of peaceful protests by Iranian citizens fed up with regime’s corruption & its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund terrorism abroad. Iranian govt should respect their people’s rights, including right to express themselves. The world is watching!”

In a similar vein, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said: “Iran’s leaders have turned a wealthy country with a rich history and culture into an economically depleted rogue state whose chief exports are violence, bloodshed, and chaos. As President Trump has said, the longest-suffering victims of Iran’s leaders are Iran’s own people.” Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders added: “There are many reports of peaceful protests by Iranian citizens fed up with the regime’s corruption and its squandering of the nation’s wealth to fund terrorism abroad. The Iranian government should respect their people’s rights, including their right to express themselves.”

For the people of Iran, with help from Donald Trump, this could just possibly be the dawning of a new era of freedom. Even if the regime remains in power this time, it has been shaken to its core. It cannot afford to be as openly repressive and bloodthirsty as the Chinese at Tienanmen Square. Not, we can hope, with Donald Trump in the White House."

https://www.westernjournalism.com/top-p ... -the-year/

"One of the most prominent pro-life groups in the United States has named President Donald Trump the 2017 “Pro-Life Person of the Year.”
Operation Rescue gives its Malachi Award each year to recognize individuals “who work to advance the cause of protecting the pre-born.”
The organization’s president, Troy Newman, praised Trump for living up to the commitments that he made on the campaign trail.
“Operation Rescue is grateful (for) Pres. Trump for having the courage to keep promises made during the campaign that provide greater protections for the pre-born and deny Federal funds from those who commit abortions,” Newman said in a press release.
“He has proven to be the most pro-life president we have had in modern history and has backed up his pro-life rhetoric with action like no other before him,” the Operation Rescue leader added.
Operation Rescue pointed to several accomplishments during Trump’s first year that advanced the pro-life cause.
They included appointing conservative, pro-life Justice Neil Gorsuch to the U.S, Supreme Court, as well as the Department of Justice launching a “formal investigation into Planned Parenthood’s illegal baby parts trafficking scheme.”
Additionally, the president removed an Obama-era regulation forcing states to continue to fund Planned Parenthood.
Further, Trump “has provided protections for those of religious and moral convictions from paying for abortifacient drugs through Obamacare, and continues to work to repeal and replace it.”
Operation Rescue also highlighted Trump’s appointment of people who hold pro-life views throughout his administration.
“We are proud of President Trump and his bold willingness to advance the cause of life,” Newman said. “There are more battles ahead, but under the Trump administration, we can now finally see progress within our government toward restoring the sanctity of life and the protections of personhood to the pre-born.”
NARAL Pro-Choice America lashed out at Operation Rescue for honoring Trump with its award.
Operation Rescue has been under Newman’s leadership since 1999. Randall Terry, the group’s founder, left the organization in 1990. Terry was known for staging high profile protests at abortion clinics, for which he was arrested over 40 times.
Newman took the organization in a different direction, focusing on documenting and exposing abuses and illegal activity by the abortion industry.
He sits on the board of the Center for Medical Progress, which was the group responsible for releasing undercover videos shot at Planned Parenthood facilities in 2015, which potentially implicated the organization in the sale of aborted babies’ body parts.
The pro-life Susan B. Anthony List also praised Trump for his accomplishments during his first year in office.
The group published a list of Trump’s pro-life wins, which included those identified by Operation Rescue."

Oh it's very much a circus, and I think the more accurate statement would be that much of the media simply doesn't care about what is true or false concerning Trump. He doesn't always react well, but honestly, I think we are in desperate need of a man in the white house who isn't an oily, smarmy person that is too measured on what he says. We've been needing someone with cajones for quite awhile.

Regardless of how you feel about Trump, I think we can all agree that the man's certainly got a pair.

Exclusive: Bannon apologizes

Post by Joel »

Exclusive: Bannon apologizes

Battered by the backlash from Michael Wolff's book, Steve Bannon is trying to make amends with the Trump family, providing a statement to Axios that expresses "regret" to President Trump and praises his son, Donald Trump Jr.

"Donald Trump, Jr. is both a patriot and a good man. He has been relentless in his advocacy for his father and the agenda that has helped turn our country around."

"My support is also unwavering for the president and his agenda — as I have shown daily in my national radio broadcasts, on the pages of Breitbart News and in speeches and appearances from Tokyo and Hong Kong to Arizona and Alabama."

"President Trump was the only candidate that could have taken on and defeated the Clinton apparatus. I am the only person to date to conduct a global effort to preach the message of Trump and Trumpism; and remain ready to stand in the breech for this president's efforts to make America great again."

"My comments about the meeting with Russian nationals came from my life experiences as a Naval officer stationed aboard a destroyer whose main mission was to hunt Soviet submarines to my time at the Pentagon during the Reagan years when our focus was the defeat of 'the evil empire' and to making films about Reagan's war against the Soviets and Hillary Clinton's involvement in selling uranium to them."

"My comments were aimed at Paul Manafort, a seasoned campaign professional with experience and knowledge of how the Russians operate. He should have known they are duplicitous, cunning and not our friends. To reiterate, those comments were not aimed at Don Jr."

"Everything I have to say about the ridiculous nature of the Russian 'collusion' investigation I said on my 60 Minutes interview. There was no collusion and the investigation is a witch hunt."

"I regret that my delay in responding to the inaccurate reporting regarding Don Jr has diverted attention from the president's historical accomplishments in the first year of his presidency."

The backstory ... In Wolff's book, Bannon is quoted as saying of Mueller's prosecutors: "They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.'"

Be smart: While Bannon's statement may seem like a baby step, he's as stubborn as Trump when it comes to apologizing and admitting he has made a mistake. He views any concession as a sign of humiliating weakness.

What's next: Look for Don Jr. to accept the statement graciously. But Bannon has further to go with President Trump: Axios has learned that POTUS has said that he wants surrogates who appear for him on TV to "bury Steve."

Axios' Jonathan Swan reported last night: Trump has been working the phones over the past several days, telling allies they need to choose between him and Bannon.

P.S. "Fake book" ... Trump tweets as he leaves Camp David: "I’ve had to put up with the Fake News from the first day I announced that I would be running for President. Now I have to put up with a Fake Book, written by a totally discredited author."

"Ronald Reagan had the same problem and handled it well. So will I!"
