KMCopeland wrote:Islam isn't any more evil than Christianity is. Bloodthirsty killers who claim their killing is an expression of their Muslim faith -- they are evil. Cold blooded murderers like the guy who killed the abortion doctor in Kansas, who claims he was excercising his Christian faith by committing murder -- he was evil too.

I don't understand what purpose you think you serve by insisting Islam is evil.

You forgot to mention that the verses in christian and LDS scriptures that condone violence only do so in cases of self defense and also a direct command from God.

Go read the new testament and LDS scriptures, every condoned instance of violence is in the context of self defense and a direct command of God. Therefore instances of unjustified violence by Christians is clearly a case of these people not understanding the scriptures they claim to believe.

Thus the evil actions of Christians cannot be used as support for Christianity being inherently violent or in any way comparable to Islam.

Also the old testament gives the list of social practices that the Canaanites committed before God commanded their total destruction by the hands of our ancestral fathers.

This list included things such as idolatry, ritual fornication, adultery, orgies, sex with children, human and especially child sacrifice, drinking blood of tortured and sexually abused animals, chattel slavery, cannibalism, and so on and so forth.

These people were degenerate evil swine who were given more than five hundred years to repent but who refused every single time.

That instance of biblical violence in this example although it fits the technical definition of genocide was wholly justified.

The rest of the old testament does not condone anything like that level of violence in any other context besides self defense and a direct command from God. So this instance cannot be used to say Judaism is as violent as Islam.

Now on to Islam. The Koran is not a bunch of conflicting accounts written years apart like the Bible and BOM.
The whole thing was written by one man over a period of years. Just like the D&C the later additions to it abrogate and change the earlier.

Interestingly enough the peaceful verses are in the front, these sections are strictly abrogated by the very last section in the Koran. The very last surah in the Koran contains an ongoing command from Allah that the believes are to slay the unbelievers wherever you find them...

A standing commandment from God to kill people of a different faith except during Ramadan. There is nothing like that in ANY other religion currently know to mankind.

Islam is evil. It is a fact firmly established by the mouth of their moon god Allah.

Whether or not Islam stays inherently violent depends on the attitudes of its followers towards the idea of a reformation.

Islam is not a religion. It is a political system. Meant to dominate and rule and subjugate the world.
In a nutshell, evil.

Some things I got from reading in this topic and my thoughts on it:

Those that generalize that "we" have repenting to do...I am only responsible for my sins and any repenting that I do is for My transgressions.
I may suffer for bad decisions of others but I will be punished by the lord for my thoughts and actions. Everyone is responsible for the things they do.
I was not born 150 years ago and am not responsible for evils committed by others, nor are Muslims evil unless they themselves do evil.

There is only one true religion. Period. Not to be said boastfully nor is there anything that makes one "superior" for knowing that, Joseph Smith found that out and I know it to be true. When we know the truth we must warn others.
Muslims have some truth and are not evil for not knowing anything other than what they are taught.

There is a group of people that use Islam to push evil though, those that do evil, and sympathize with them are evil.
Evil is growing in this group.
I feel it is on our shores (USA) as well and we should be vigilant.
Evil is evil, where ever it's found. Many wolves in sheep's clothing in regards to this topic.

Six branches now. So they are pretty receptive for a country that is 99 percent Muslim.

"While the United States and Europe argue over how many Syrian refugees to allow in, the richest Persian Gulf states have accepted exactly zero.
The Muslim countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council that include Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates steadfastly refuse to accept any Syrian refugees. Amnesty International, USA (AIUSA) tells The Daily Caller News Foundation they have not accepted a single refugee since the armed Syrian conflict erupted years ago.
“The Gulf States have accepted zero refugees registered with the United Nations and administered through the U.N. resettlement program. They have accepted zero,” Geoffrey Mock, the Syrian country coordinator for AIUSA, tells TheDCNF.
Nadim Houry, the Human Rights Watch deputy director for the Middle East and North Africa, calls it “shameful.”
The reluctance of Muslim countries to accept Syrians also may make it much harder for Americans to accept President Barack Obama’s proposal to resettle 10,000 refugees throughout the United States.
The Gulf states can be a natural new home for many of the Syrians. The Persian Gulf countries are fabulously wealthy from oil revenues, have strong economies, speak the same Arabic language and offer a familiar culture for the displaced Syrians.
A Fox News poll taken after the Paris attacks reports 67 percent oppose taking in any of the 10,000 Syrian refugees Obama wishes to resettle in the United States. Seventy-seven percent replied that “at least one of those coming through this process will be a terrorist who will succeed in carrying out an attack on U.S. soil.”
A Harris poll taken about a week after the Paris attacks shows that six out of 10 (61 percent) oppose the president’s plan to accept 10,000 refugees. Going deeper, it shows that 63 percent fear any Syrian refugee admitted to the U.S. could be connected to terrorism.
Those fears hardened after the Nov. 13 Islamic State attack in Paris that killed 130. Many of the terrorists that night were either French or Belgian citizens.
A Bloomberg Politics post-attack public opinion poll taken Nov. 15 to 17 shows 53 percent oppose any resettlement of Syrians in the United States, with only 28 supporting the president.
On Nov. 20, the House also voted 289 to 137 to call a pause in the resettlement program until greater security measures are in place to screen the refugees. The vote included 47 Democrats joining Republicans.
Thirty-one governors vow to stop temporarily accepting Syrian refugees into their states. All of the governors are Republican except for one.
Sen. Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican who is seeking the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, raises the issue in his campaign.
The Gulf states are the “ones actually giving a lot of arms and weapons to radical Islamists. They’re taking zero refugees,” Paul declared in a campaign stop in his home state of Kentucky Nov. 23.
"Muslim countries bordering Syria such as Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon accepted the bulk of the 4.2 million Syrian refugees. Many there live in makeshift overcrowded tent cities operated by the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and its resettlement agency.
Egypt, which accepted 127,000 of the 4.2 million Syrian refugees, also appears to be getting cold feet about accepting more. Egyptian officials are now expelling some refugees, according to Mock. He tells TheDCNF some refugees are on hunger strikes because of depraved conditions.
Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon have also begun to impose new restrictions on accepting more Syrian refugees.
Despite the worldwide clamor in support of the refugees, funding to help them isn’t available. UNHCR earlier this month reported that globally, governments have contributed only half of the $4.5 billion estimate of the cost of needed support for the refugees.
Like some Americans, the monarchs in the Gulf states appear to be suspicious of accepting Muslims who they fear could have a destabilizing effect on their societies.
Sultan Sooud al-Qassemi of Oman wrote last Sept. 3 in the International Business Times, “I suspect that the Gulf States may also be wary of allowing a large number of politically vocal Arabs into their countries that might somehow influence a traditionally politically-passive society.”
Further compounding the problem is that none of the Gulf states signed the 1951 Refugee Convention that defines a refugee as a person “outside the country of his nationality’ because of ‘fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality.”
Failure to sign the post-World War II convention means Gulf states don’t have to recognize the refugees and do not have to cooperate with the U.N. resettlement program.
Many of those Palestinian refugees from 1948 have not been naturalized by their own Arab governments and remain stateless people without a passport or citizenship rights in any Arab country.
Saudi Arabia, through its state-run press agency, stated it does not accept Syrian refugees but will accept Syrian citizens who want to live in “dignity” within its borders. The monarchy asserts it has accepted 2.5 million Syrians in that manner.
But Amnesty International USA says the claim refers to migrant workers who work in the kingdom for low wages. “None of them went through the U.N. resettlement process. They are migrant workers throughout the Gulf states,” Mock says.
“Just to accept those without participating in the U.N. resettlement process is not showing the leadership we think they need to be taking,” he says."

If the Refugees were Christian or Shia Muslim of course they will not accept them! KSA plus their neighbors do not like the Shias at all.

Arabic could be considered more a macrolanguage than one unified language. Hearing an Arab speaker from Morocco and one from Egypt, the conversation is barely intelligible. Same goes for the Levantine Arabic spoken by the Syrians versus the Arab spoken in Iraq or the Gulf States.

"The United Nations said unknown attackers fired rockets at a U.N. peacekeeping base in Kidal in northern Mali on Saturday, killing three people inside, in the latest sign that the West African country's Islamist insurgency is intensifying.
French troops and the 10,000-strong U.N. force are struggling to stabilize the former French colony where Islamist militants attacked a hotel in the capital on Nov. 20 and killed 20 people, in their bloodiest attack yet in the country's south.
Desert-based jihadists regularly launch rockets and missiles at northern U.N. bases, especially around full moon when the lighter nights make it easier to target the camps, although it is rare for the missiles to land inside the camp.
"They fired rockets from around 4am inside the MINUSMA camp," Olivier Salgado, Deputy Chief of Communication in the peacekeeping mission, told Reuters.
"We have three dead and four seriously injured," he said, adding that there were a total of 20 wounded and that medical evacuations were underway.
He did not name the victims' nationalities although a U.N. source said two were peacekeepers from neighboring Guinea.
A witness said that bursts of gunfire were heard shortly after the rockets landed as well as mortar fire coming from inside the camp.
JIHADIST WARNING
A security source in north Mali who wished to remain anonymous said the Kidal camp had received a warning two days before the attack from an unnamed jihadist group. A local deputy for Kidal Ahmoudene Ag Ikmasse also blamed radical Islamists.
Northern Mali was taken over by Islamist fighters, some with links to al Qaeda, for most of 2012. They were driven out by a French-led military operation a year later, but violence has continued and spread into formerly safe areas in the south.
Three Islamist militant groups - al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQMI), its splinter group al Mourabitoun and Massina Liberation Front (MLF) - claimed last week's attack on the Radisson Blu hotel that killed Russian and Chinese nationals as well as an American, among others.
Security analysts say the groups could be collaborating.
Some analysts say the spike in jihadist attacks is designed to disrupt the implementation of a peace deal signed between various northern armed groups and Mali's government in June.
"I want to reiterate that these attacks will not impede the determination of the United Nations to support the Malian people and the peace process," said U.N. Special Envoy for the Mali mission, Mongi Hamdi on Saturday.
A French soldier, part of the 3,500 Barkhane anti-terrorism force operating across the Sahel, and a U.N. peacekeeper were killed by landmines this week.
Germany has said it is willing to send up to 650 soldiers to bolster the U.N. force which has yet to reach its full strength of 12,680 men.
Other West African states are also battling Islamist militants. Boko Haram, the leading such group in the region, has this year extended its attacks from Nigeria to neighboring states of Niger, Cameroon and Chad."

"Following the attacks in Paris, France by Islamic jihadists, British beauty salon owner April Major, 43, decided to change her business' policies concerning those who follow Islam. In doing so, the most unjust things happened to her: She was arrested.

She took to her Facebook page and posted:
"Sorry but time to put my country first"
"Blinks of Bicester are no longer taking bookings from anyone from the Islamic faith whether you are UK granted with passport or not."

Major, owner of Blinks of Bicester, would later post, "I have been inundated with messages tonight as I said I would not book any muslin [sic] or Islamic client. I stand by that completely as a UK citizen. However those that want to call me racialist. Think on."
The posts were later removed, but apparently the spineless, cowardly Islamists and their sympathizers were so "offended" that they complained to local police. However, what is even more cowardly is that police responded and arrested her, charging her with being "racially abusive."
The Thames Valley Police booked her and posted on their Facebook page:
The 43-year-old woman from Bicester, who was arrested yesterday (15/11) in connection with racially abusive comments posted on social media, has been bailed until 30 November.
She was arrested after members of the public reported the posts to the force by calling 101."

For those unaware, 101 is the number you dial in the UK in order to report a crime.
According to a police spokesperson, Major "was arrested on Sunday under section 19 of the Public Order Act (POA) after a number of reports from members of the public."

So, what does section 19 of the POA say?
Publishing or distributing written material.

(1)A person who publishes or distributes written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting is guilty of an offence if—
(a)he intends thereby to stir up racial hatred, or
(b)having regard to all the circumstances racial hatred is likely to be stirred up thereby.
(2)In proceedings for an offence under this section it is a defence for an accused who is not shown to have intended to stir up racial hatred to prove that he was not aware of the content of the material and did not suspect, and had no reason to suspect, that it was threatening, abusive or insulting.
(3)References in this Part to the publication or distribution of written material are to its publication or distribution to the public or a section of the public.

I see nothing in the posts that are racial hatred or any intent to stir it up. These are bogus charges from politically correct and totalitarian minded thought police that have no business in the West.
The police have since removed the post, but let's get at the heart of the matter. This is nothing more than tyranny against a business owner who made a policy decision about her business. She did not want anyone from the Islamic faith in her business. She did not specify ethnicity; she specified ideology! How can the ban of people of a certain ideology be "racially abusive"? It can't.
In fact, it can be no more "racially abusive" than saying you will not allow people who are practicing nudists to enter your establishment or those who believe they should wear their pants around their knees and show everyone their underwear. Both have a particular ideology behind them and they are not specific to any ethnicity.
Sgt Steve Dixon said: "Thames Valley police treats all allegations of racial aggravation very seriously and will always take steps to investigate them. Anyone who has information about such offences should call the 24-hour police inquiry line on 101."
Really? Someone should ask Sgt. Dixon why he and his fellow Brits allowed Islamic jihad imam Anjem Choudary to openly call for the death of people like Pamela Geller, and teach what the Quran teaches about Jews and Christians. Oh, that's right, then it would be about ideologies, right? Not ethnicities. That would be right of course, but since Islamic law is not Common law, which is based upon Biblical law, it is an ideology that is opposed to the foundations of the cultures of the West.”

A SYDNEY church website has been restored after it was hijacked with the message: "Hacked by Islamic State".
A GRAPHIC video, headline and message replaced the homepage of the Our Lady of Mercy Syriac Catholic Church, in Concord in Sydney's inner west, on Thursday.
"We don't negotiate except with cannon, we don't have dialogues except with guns," the message read.
"And we will not stop the fighting until we make Athan and pray in Rome by Allah's will in a conquest, as a promise from Allah, and Allah does not break his promise."
The message also sent a warning to Russia, saying it will fall under the will of Allah.
"Russia will be a wilayat inxa'Allah!"
ASIO has been contacted, a member of the church said on Facebook.
The attack may have been fuelled by a recent fundraiser for the Christian Syrian and Iraqi refugees, the church member said.
"The Islamic State is not happy enough to kill and send these people out of their countries, now they want to deny them the help needed to survive once they arrive to this beautiful place we all call home," he said.
A spokeswoman for ASIO said they would not comment on the matter.
The hacking follows a similar incident on an Icelandic Lutherhan Mission webpage, according to the Iceland Magazine.
One of the webpages of the mission group was replaced with a near-identical message, video and headline on November 25."

"Syria is a terror state. It didn't become that way overnight because of the Arab Spring or the Iraq War.
Its people are not the victims of American foreign policy, Islamic militancy or any of the other fashionable excuses. They supported Islamic terrorism. Millions of them still do.
They are not the Jews fleeing a Nazi Holocaust. They are the Nazis trying to relocate from a bombed out Berlin.
These are the cold hard facts.
ISIS took over parts of Syria because its government willingly allied with it to help its terrorists kill Americans in Iraq. That support for Al Qaeda helped lead to the civil war tearing the country apart.
The Syrians were not helpless, apathetic pawns in this fight. They supported Islamic terrorism.
A 2007 poll showed that 77% of Syrians supported financing Islamic terrorists including Hamas and the Iraqi fighters who evolved into ISIS. Less than 10% of Syrians opposed their terrorism.
Why did Syrians support Islamic terrorism? Because they hated America.
Sixty-three percent wanted to refuse medical and humanitarian assistance from the United States. An equal number didn't want any American help caring for Iraqi refugees in Syria.
The vast majority of Syrians turned down any form of assistance from the United States because they hated us. They still do. Just because they're willing to accept it now doesn't mean they like us.
If we bring Syrian Muslims to America, we will be importing a population that hates us.
The terrorism poll numbers are still ugly. A poll this summer found that 1 in 5 Syrians supports ISIS. A third of Syrians support the Al Nusra Front, which is affiliated with Al Qaeda. Since Sunnis are 3/4 of the population and Shiites and Christians aren't likely to support either group, this really means that Sunni Muslim support for both terror groups is even higher than these numbers make it seem.
And even though Christians and Yazidis are the ones who actually face ISIS genocide, Obama has chosen to take in few Christians and Yazidis. Instead, 98.6% of Obama's Syrian refugees are Sunni Muslims.
This is also the population most likely to support ISIS and Al Qaeda.
But these numbers are even worse than they look. Syrian men are more likely to view ISIS positively than women. This isn't surprising, as the Islamic State not only practices sex slavery, but also has some ruthless restrictions for women that exceed even those of Saudi Arabia (Al Qaeda's Al Nusra Front, however, mostly closes the gender gap getting equal support from Syrian men and women.)
ISIS, however, gets its highest level of support from young men. This is the Syrian refugee demographic.
In the places where the Syrian refugees come from, support for Al Qaeda groups climbs as high as 70% in Idlib, 66% in Quneitra, 66% in Raqqa, 47% in Derzor, 47% in Hasakeh, 41% in Daraa, and 41% in Aleppo.
Seventy percent support for ISIS in Raqqa has been dismissed as the result of fear. But if Syrians in the ISIS capital were just afraid of the Islamic State, why would the Al Nusra Front, which ISIS is fighting, get nearly as high a score from the people in Raqqa? The answer is that their support for Al Qaeda is real.
Apologists will claim that these numbers don't apply to the Syrian refugees. It's hard to say how true that is. Only 13% of Syrian refugees will admit to supporting ISIS, though that number still means that of Obama's first 10,000 refugees, 1,300 will support ISIS. But the poll doesn't delve into their views of other Al Qaeda groups, such as the Al Nusra Front, which usually gets more Sunni Muslim support.
And there's no sign that they have learned to reject Islamic terrorism and their hatred for America.
When Syrian refugees were asked to list the greatest threat, 29 percent picked Iran, 22 percent picked Israel, and 19 percent picked America. Only 10 percent viewed Islamic terrorism as a great threat.
By way of comparison, twice as many Iraqis see Islamic terrorism as a threat than Syrians do, and slightly more Palestinian Arabs view Islamic terrorism as a threat than Syrians do. These are terrible numbers.

Thirty-seven percent of Syrian refugees oppose US airstrikes on ISIS. 33% oppose the objective of destroying ISIS.
And these are the people whom our politicians would have us believe are "fleeing an ISIS Holocaust."
Seventy-three percent of Syrian refugees view US foreign policy negatively. That's a higher number than Iraqis. It's about equal to that of Palestinian Arabs.
They don't like us. They really don't like us.
Obama's first shipment of Syrians will include 1,300 ISIS supporters and most of the rest will hate this country. But unless they're stupid enough to announce that during their interviews, the multi-layered vetting that Obama and other politicians boast about will be useless.
It only took 2 Muslim refugees to carry out the Boston Marathon massacre. It only took 19 Muslim terrorists to carry out 9/11.
If only 1 percent of those 1,300 Syrian ISIS supporters put their beliefs into practice, they can still kill thousands of Americans.
And that's a best case scenario. Because it doesn't account for how many thousands of them support Al Qaeda. It doesn't account for how many of them back other Islamic terrorist groups, such as Hamas, that had widespread support in Syria.
While the media has shamelessly attempted to exploit the Holocaust to rally support for Syrian migrants, the majority of Syrians supported Hamas, whose mandate is finishing Hitler's work. The Hamas charter describes a "struggle against the Jews" that culminates in another Holocaust. Bringing Hamas supporters to America will lead to more Muslim Supremacist violence against Jews in this country.
But all of this can be avoided by taking in genuine Syrian refugees.
While Obama insists on taking in fake Syrian refugees—mainly Sunni Muslims from UN camps who support terrorism and are not endangered in Jordan or Turkey, both Sunni countries—he is neglecting the real refugees (Christians and Yazidis) who are stateless and persecuted in the Muslim world.
Instead of taking in fake refugees who hate us, we should be taking in real refugees who need us.
Obama and Paul Ryan have claimed that a "religious test" for refugees is wrong, but religious tests are how we determine whether a refugee is really fleeing persecution or is just an economic migrant.
The Sunni Muslims that Obama is taking in do not face persecution. They are the majority. They are the persecutors. It's the Yazidis and the Christians who need our help. And these real refugees, unlike the fake Sunni Muslim refugees, are not coming here to kill us. They truly have nowhere else to go.
Syria is a disaster because its rival Muslim religious groups are unable to get along with each other. Bringing them to this country will only spread the violence from their land to ours. Instead of taking in the religious majority that caused this mess through its intolerance, we should take in their victims; the Christians and Yazidis who are being slaughtered and enslaved by ISIS.
During the entire Syrian Civil War, Obama has only taken in 1 Syrian Yazidi and 53 Christians.
It's time that we had a refugee policy that protected the persecuted, instead of their Muslim persecutors. It's time that we listened to Syrian Christians in this country who oppose bringing tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims to terrorize their neighborhoods the way that they are already terrorizing Syrian Christians in Germany.
Syrian Muslims are a nation of terrorist supporters. They destroyed their own country. Let's not let them destroy ours.
It's time that we kept our nation safe by doing the right thing. Let's take in the real Christian and Yazidi refugees and let the fake Sunni Muslim refugees and terrorist supporters stay in their own countries."

"THEY are arguably the most feared terror group in the world but model-turned-soldier Hanna Bohman says Islamic State are nothing but “knuckle-dragging” cowards.
The 46-year-old Canadian, who also goes by the name Tiger Sun, has spent several months this year on the frontline in northern Syria fighting against the ruthless militants as part of the Kurdish women’s defence force, YPJ.
She says while IS might have managed to generate this image of a brutal, domineering force that is impervious to defeat, she claims it couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Their numbers don’t seem that big and they’re eager to run away,” Bohman said in an interview with Business Insider. “I suspect most of the experienced fighters have been consolidated in Mosul and Raqqa, and that’s where the big fights will be.
“They’re not some giant, holy juggernaut of ultimate damnation for unbelievers.
“They’re just a bunch of filthy, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging pigs who run away at the first sign of resistance. Really nothing more than a thorn in the side.”
Bohman left her life as a sales clerk in Vancouver in February to join the YPJ (the Women’s Protection Unit), the female branch of the volunteer Kurdish resistance army that formed in 2012 to defend the Kurdish people from attacks by IS, al-Nusra Front and the Turkish State.
She says before she joined she had spent months feeling frustrated by the what she claims was inaction by Western governments.
“There was no one event that motivated me,” Bohman told Canada’sNational Post. “Seeing evil beyond evil, the video of the Canadian guy [John Maguire] joining [Islamic State], the fact that governments weren’t doing anything about it. And then I learned about what the Kurds were doing, and I flew to Iraq.
“I had considered joining the Canadian Army, but what I was looking for was exactly what I was doing in Rojava. I didn’t want to sit around for years in Edmonton or Ottawa.”
After she completed training, she boarded a plane to Iraq in March where she spent 10 days trying to cross into Syria.
Once she arrived, she was taken to a safe house before being smuggled out again for combat training. A few hours later she was sent to the front line.
Bohman says she spent her first month as a lookout before she was moved to a mobile unit where she saw fighting almost daily.
“That’s where I was first shot at by a sniper while walking from the outhouse to our quarters,” she told Business Insider. “We were a mobile [unit], so we moved around quite a bit and were part of a large offensive south of Til Temir.”
But the most intense battle she was involved in took place in June.
Bohman was the only woman among six Westerners who went “rogue” and ended up in IS territory.
“All of us, including the commander, were itching for a fight, so we went a bit rogue,” she said. “We became lost trying to find the front and thought we had accidentally pushed into Daesh country [another name for ISIS] when we started seeing dead people lying on the roads. The drivers were frantically calling for help on their phones and radios, and the tension was the highest I’ve ever felt as we had no idea where Daesh was.”
The group quickly retreated back but the next morning they were told to take the city of Til Abyad, a city near the Turkish border that was under Islamic State control.
They did with the help of a unit of 12 Kurds who were stationed at a nearby bridge.
“We spent the rest of the day fighting for that bridge, which was also the last time a sniper would take a shot at me, the bullet passing so close over my head I felt it,” she said. “We held the bridge overnight while reinforcements arrived, and the next day they took the city, which by now had mostly been abandoned by Daesh.”

"San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook’s ability to bring a Pakistani wife to the country through an online relationship exposes loopholes in the U.S. immigration system terrorist organisations can capitalise on.
Farook and Tashfeen Malik met on a dating website and maintained an online relationship prior to Malik coming to the U.S. in July, 2014. Malik, a Pakistani citizen, entered the country on a K-1 visa, commonly known as a fiance visa.
Numbers from the U.S. Department of State show the K-1 visa has a much higher admittance rate than practically any other type of visa, the Daily Caller News Foundation found.
“House of War: Islam’s Jihad Against the World” conveys what the West needs to know about Islam and the violent, expansionary ideology that seeks the subjugation and destruction of other faiths, cultures and systems of government
David North, a fellow at The Centre for Immigration Studies, warned about the outstanding acceptance rate years ago, and says it keeps climbing with very few cases being rejected.
“It is highly unlikely not to obtain a K-1 visa no matter what the procedure is,” North tells The Daily Caller News Foundation. “The State Department is much more likely to say no to practically and kind of visa that comes before them.”
Data on admittance rates for each visa category from the State Department show the K-1 visa only had 118 rejections out of 36,425 applications in 2014. This ratio of 1:308 can be compared to the most popular categories of the B-1 tourist and business visa (1:6.5) and the F-1 student visa (1:5.7). Even visa categories that apply to diplomats gaining entry to the U.S., such as the A-1 (1:74), have approval ratings far below the K-1.
“That suggests to me either that all these brides and grooms are really pure, or that the system is less vigorous,” North tells TheDCNF.
The only categories that had higher approval ratings in 2010 were the NATO-1 to 7 which are issued to NATO officials. Even this visa category is now behind the K-1 with about 293 approvals for every rejection last year.
The eligibility requirements for obtaining a K-1 visa are also much more relaxed compared to other visa categories. A checklist on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ website gives the following requirements for eligibility:
You (the petitioner) are a U.S. citizen.
You intend to marry within 90 days of your fiancé(e) entering the United States.
You and your fiancé(e) are both free to marry and any previous marriages must have been legally terminated by divorce, death, or annulment.
You met each other, in person, at least once within 2 years of filing your petition.
Even if the couple fails to meet the last criteria of having met in person, they can still file a waiver if they qualify for at least one of two exception.
1. If the requirement to meet would violate strict and long-established customs of your or your fiancé(e)’s foreign culture or social practice.
2. If you prove that the requirement to meet would result in extreme hardship to you.
An advantage K-1 applicants face is they are endorsed by a U.S. citizen, which may instil trust in the person handling the case."

"SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (UPI) -- Islamic State radio said Saturday the shooters who killed 14 at a holiday party were "martyrs" and "supporters" of the militant group.
Al-Bayan Radio, in an online broadcast, said alleged shooters Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik carried out the attack in support of the Islamic State militant group, also referred to as Daesh and by the acronyms ISIS and ISIL. The couple died in a shootout with police after the Wednesday attack that also left 21 injured. The al-Bayan broadcaster did not say the couple were members of the militant group.
"We pray to God to accept them as martyrs," al-Bayan Radio reported.

The FBI said the shooting on Wednesday is being investigated as terrorism, despite objections from Farook's family, who said the declaration is "premature" and "irresponsible." Investigators said the mass shooting was inspired by IS, but not directed or ordered by the group. The militant group has put out a worldwide call to launch attacks in its name.
Investigators said Malik posted a pledge of allegiance to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Facebook during the shootout at a holiday party of the San Bernardino environmental health department, where Farook was a health inspector.
Farook, 28, a United States citizen of Pakistan origin, and Malik, 27, who was from Pakistan but whose family had moved to Saudi Arabia, carried out the attack at the Inland Regional Center.
The Farook family attorney said the notion the attack was inspired by the militant group was "ridiculous" and said none of the extended family knew about any link to terrorism. Attorney David Chesley said the couple had a "traditional" Muslim household and said Malik was a "typical housewife" who took care of their 6-month-old daughter."

"A stabbing at a Tube station in east London is being treated as a "terrorist incident", the Met Police has said.
Police were called to reports of people being attacked at Leytonstone station just after 19:00 GMT. The knifeman reportedly shouted "this is for Syria".
A man was arrested after being Tasered by police. One man suffered serious knife injuries while two others received minor injuries.
The Met said the suspect was reportedly threatening other people with a knife.
A witness told the BBC he saw a man holding a knife, about 3ins (7.5cm) long, standing over another man who was lying on the ground, and people running out of the Central Line station.
There has been severe disruption to the Tube as a result of the attack
Police said they received a call at 19:06 GMT and the man was arrested at 19:14.
Commander Richard Walton, who leads the Met's Counter-Terrorism Command, said: "We are treating this as a terrorist incident. I would urge the public to remain calm, but alert and vigilant.
"The threat from terrorism remains at severe, which means that a terrorist attack is highly likely.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Leytonstone underground station earlier this evening at around 7pm who saw anything suspicious to call the anti-terror hotline on 0800 789 321.
"Anyone who may have captured video or photographic footage of the incident is also urged to make contact with the Counter-Terrorism Command via the Anti Terror hotline".
'Thin blade'
Witness Michael Garcia, 24, a financial analyst from Leytonstone, said he was walking along an underground passage that runs through the station when he saw people running outside.
"I realised it wasn't a fight but something more sinister," he said.
He then saw "a guy, an adult, lying on the floor with a guy standing next to him brandishing a knife of about three inches... maybe a hobby knife".
"It had a thin blade, but looked fairly long," Mr Garcia said. "He was screaming 'go on, then, run' to everyone else. He was pacing back and forth next to the guy on the floor. He came up to the barriers."
Another witness, named Khayam, told BBC Radio 5 live people were shouting and throwing things at the arrested man as he was led from the station.
"I saw pedestrians shouting at him, one tried to throw a bottle and the police officers said 'back off' and took him to the police van.
"I saw a victim come out on a vertical stretcher with ambulance staff and several minutes later police closed off the station and evacuated everyone from the area."
Leytonstone station has remained cordoned off and closed with no trains running through it
Videos have been posted on the internet, purportedly showing the attacker in the station.
BBC correspondent Helena Lee said: "A number of videos have been posted, unverified, but I have seen a couple of those where we see the suspect near the ticketing hall at Leytonstone Tube station.
"You see this man shouting various things and then he is surrounded by a number of police officers.
"They try to Taser him, they fail a number of times and then they are successful.
"You then see the suspect fall to the ground, drop what appears to be a knife in his hand, that falls to the ground as well and then they arrest him."

"While the Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate 1,000 ISIS-tied individuals in the united States, there are at least 22 paramilitary Islamic communities in the US that they know of, but are not doing anything about. Now, the stage has been set for more Islamic jihad attacks on US soil under the watchful eye of the FBI.

The groups are operated by Jamaat al-Fuqra, a Pakistan-based group, who main front group is Muslims of the Americas.
Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, a Pakistani cleric, heads up the group in Islamberg, New York. The communes operated by the organization are in mostly remote areas of California, Georgia, South Carolina, New York, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Michigan, Tennessee and other states.

The Clarion Project reported on these camps:
The organization says it has a network of 22 "villages" around the U.S., with Islamberg as its main headquarters in New York. Clarion Project obtained secret MOA footage showing female members receiving paramilitary training at Islamberg. It was featured on theKelly File on FOX News Channel in October. A second MOA tape released by Clarion shows its spokesman declaring the U.S. to be a Muslim-majority country.

Several members have used false aliases, Social Security numbers and birth certificates, according to two FBI documents from 1992.

Pamela Geller, author of Stop the Islamization of America, says that the communes are mostly made up of Blacks who converted to Islam while in federal prison and have operated "under the not-so-watchful eye" of the FBI since the early 80

However, the real question is why are they allowed to operate? At the time of the writing of the Clarion Project's article, MOA was designated as a terrorist organization. In 2005, Jamaat ul-Fuqra was also listed by Homeland Security as a possible sponsor of a terrorist attack on the US, and in 1998, the State Department's Patterns of Global Terrorism report described the group as an "Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

If that's the criteria, then not only is Christianity a cult, but it's one with a delusional leader. Christ was seen not only as speaking on behalf of God, He is taken as BEING God. To people without faith, that would be taken as a belief that Christ was delusional. I reject that completely.

Taqiyya is not a Mormon word either. It is an Arab word that means Muslims should lie about their true beliefs to non-believers. One of Muhammad's companions described it as "we smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them." Lest this be dismissed as an ancient belief only, or something practiced only by a small handful of fanatics, a prominent Lebanese scholar in 2004 said "Taqiyya is of fundamental importance in Islam. Practically every Islamic sect agrees to it and practices it. We can go so far as to say that the practice of taqiyya is mainstream in Islam, and that those few sects not practicing it diverge from the mainstream...Taqiyya is very prevalent in Islamic politics, especially in the modern era."

I'm not sure how the prominent belief that lying should be a standard part of your religion is supposed to convince me to trust or believe Islam is good.

I'd be interested in how you came to this belief. I know Jimmy and some of the early Wikipedia people. While we share a lot of philosophical differences, I never got the impression that there was any bias toward me as a Mormon other than the usual liberal disdain for organized religion in general.

In a nutshell, evil.
dc
Here I must disagree with you. Islam IS a religion. It is true that many Muslims believe government should be based on the principles of Islam, but that would then be a theocracy. Islam is defined by a belief in a god, it purports to give divine revelations, and it lays out sacred responsibilities people must do to serve their god so they receive a reward in the next life.

A religion organized by satan must necessarily be a false religion, but it is still a religion nonetheless.

I could certainly agree that Jimmy is pretty anti-organized religion, but he's fair about it. He generally doesn't dislike us any more than he dislikes Catholics or Baptists.

Except Taqqiya is not prominent. Albeit it is seen throughout the Muslim world it is by no means binding on the salvation of Muslims or a major doctrine as you put it.

Taqqiya is not a Jewish word, but Abraham did it, on two occasions, in the Bible. Even the early Christians hid their activities from the watchful eyes of the Romans via code words.

"An American Muslim man of Jordanian descent tried to hijack a German plan and crash it down, screaming "I want to meet Allah." But, luckily, a group of Eastern Orthodox Christian men from Serbia took him down and beat him up. He first knocked on the door and tried to get inside; when they did not open the door, he began to try to smash it open, screaming, "I want to meet my god (Allah)!" He then threatened to open one of the doors of the plane. The Muslim also said that he wanted to take all of the passengers "to Allah." The attacker held a US passport and went by the name "Laken." The plane was a German Lufthansa airliner, flying from Frankfurt to Belgrade.
Serbian state-run television reported that police had arrested a Jordanian man after he tried to force his way into the cockpit of the Lufthansa flight.
The man had suddenly gotten up during the flight, banged on the cockpit door, and demanded to be allowed to enter, threatening to open one of the plane's doors while it was flying over Austria, Serbia's RTS television reported.
The man, whom Serb press said was called Laken and who had a US passport, had cried out that he wished to join Allah along with all the passengers, RTS said.
He was overpowered by flight crew and members of a Serb handball team, who subdued him until the flight landed in Belgrade, where he was arrested, the report said.”

"Intelligence officials have determined that Islamic extremists have explored using the refugee program to enter the United States, they told the head of the Homeland Security Committee.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) revealed portions of a classified letter from the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) on Monday, which offered new claims not previously disclosed by the Obama administration.

The disclosure could give ammunition to critics of the White House’s refugee plans who have warned that the program is vulnerable to infiltration by adherents of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The NCTC has identified “individuals with ties to terrorist groups in Syria attempting to gain entry to the U.S. through the U.S. refugee program,” the intelligence agency told McCaul in a letter.

“The refugee system, like all immigration programs, is vulnerable to exploitation from extremist groups seeking to send operatives to the West,” the agency added, noting that a small number of Iraqi refugees were arrested on terror charges in 2010.

McCaul disclosed the NCTC’s analysis during a speech at the National Defense University. He initially claimed that ISIS, in particular, had considered taking advantage of the refugee program, though his office later called that a “misstatement.”

“That was very courageous for them to come forward with this, to tell me about this personally, given the political debate on the Hill,” McCaul said on Monday.

The White House would not confirm or deny McCaul’s claim, which he was initially reluctant to link to the NCTC.

Press secretary Josh Earnest defended the U.S. refugee screening process, which typically takes two years for an individual to complete.

“Those individuals who seek to enter the United States through the refugee resettlement program do so only after undergoing the most intensive screening of anybody who attempts to enter the United States," Earnest reporters on Monday.

A spokesman with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence also declined to comment on the record about the assertion.

McCaul’s speech comes amid escalating concerns about Islamic extremism in the West, following the killings of 130 people in Paris and 14 in San Bernardino, Calif. The massacres have caused American fears about terrorism to spike, and left Congress grasping for a response.

President Obama has repeatedly pushed back against warnings that ISIS could attack the United States by sending over fighters as refugees.

The Syrian civil war has killed more than 200,000 people since it began in 2011, and forced more than 4 million refugees to flee.

Still, Republicans and some Democrats have been wary of the president’s plans to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into the country next year.

Last month, the House voted overwhelmingly to make it more difficult for refugees from Iraq and Syria to enter the United States.

In his speech Monday, McCaul painted a bleak picture of American national security, which he compared to the World War II fight against fascism.

The current threat posed by Islamic extremists is greater than at any time since 9/11, he said, and ISIS is “now more dangerous than al Qaeda ever was under Osama bin Laden.”

“I believe the state of our homeland is increasingly not secure,” McCaul said.

“I believe 2015 will be seen as a watershed year in this long war — the year when our enemies gained an upper hand and when the spread of terror once again awoke the West.”

The chairman's dire outlook stood in contrast to the message from Obama, who less than 24 hours before attempted to reassure the nation about terrorism in his third-ever address from the Oval Office.

“The threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it,” Obama said.

“We will destroy ISIL and any other organization that tries to harm us. Our success won’t depend on tough talk, or abandoning our values, or giving into fear,” he added, using an alternate acronym for ISIS. “Instead, we will prevail by being strong and smart, resilient and relentless, and by drawing upon every aspect of American power.”

McCaul's comments could signal a renewed commitment to keep national security at the forefront of Congress’s focus, even as it rushes to finish its legislative work and adjourn for the year.

This week, the House is expected to take up legislation tightening a program allowing travelers from 38 countries to enter the U.S. without a visa. The reform is the only White House recommendation that Congress is likely to act on in the wake of the recent killings.

“This is just the beginning,” McCaul promised. “Over the coming weeks, we will introduce a slate of new bills based on the findings of the [bipartisan congressional] task force to keep terrorists from crossing our borders.”

Among other steps, McCaul said that lawmakers were interested in further hardening the country’s borders against extremists, sharing intelligence with foreign countries and developing a special commission to examine challenges posed by the proliferation of encryption technologies, which prevent the government from intercepting a suspect’s messages."
