People living past 100

Post by Michelle »

I read about Eldred G. Smith (Died in 2013 at 106)
He was the oldest and longest-serving general authority (Patriarch of the Church) of the church at his death, although he had not been active in that capacity for many years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eldred_G._Smith
And I was curious about others living so long and so healthy. I found this lady in Utah, I don't know if she is still alive.
Beatrice doesn’t drink soda pop. She eats very little meat. From about age 20 until she was 100 Beatrice drank a concoction of honey and vinegar. “That’s why she’s never had any trouble with her arteries,” said Sanders. Breakfast is a bowl of oatmeal; for lunch she loves mandarin oranges. Beatrice skips supper.

And this lady who is 109 and lives in Utah right now!
"As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Delpha credits her long, healthy and happy life to some simple rules: no smoking, no drinking (including soda) and eating healthy. She doesn’t eat much meat. Instead she eats lots of peanut butter, vegetables, milk and water."

“Always try to live your life as if the Lord was your neighbor. Respect others as you would like to be respected.”

I’m sure results are individual... :)

As I have studied different books/philosophies on what to eat, Whole Food Plants seems to be one of the better ways to eat. That being said, the designs of conspiring men have changed the foods that we eat, including animals. The last 50 years the health has severely gone down in the US.

I just read the Plant Paradox which is a good book. The science behind the foods we eat, plants and animals, shows lectins in certain food that change our gut biome which is one cause of the health issues we have.

I have also learned about fasting and intermittent fasting. Your example of Beatrice above is an example of little meat, plant foods, honey and vinegar, and not eating supper. By not eating supper, she was probably doing a 18 hour intermittent fast daily.

I’ve also learned you can do a sustained water fast. Dr Mercola does a 4-5 day fast monthly, then 18 hour intermittent fasts the rest of the month.

Steven Gundry who wrote the Plant Paradox, does 22 hour intermittent fasts from January to May. He also believes, like you, that you should only eat fruit in season. He says fructose is geared to have you gain weight in preparing for the winter.

Awesome, I see it as being True in the same sense as there being a one true church, whereas the multitude of other nutrition theories are adulterated versions of if, similar to how there are thousands for denominations, teaching whatever they can put-over on as many people as possible. Dr. Mercola also has tapped into many truths and deceptions promulgated in the name of profit.

Dr. Robert Lustig does a great job revealing the history of deception, most notable by taking data from 22 countries and trimming to use, only the 5 that supported what the funders of the studies wanted. 3 square meals, and whole-grain goodness are a couple more deceptions put forward, and is best understood by knowing which State is the Black Hole, and why. Hint = it's a four letter word. :P
Hi, I just ate your Chili after reading the Plant Paradox. Luckily I've discovered Lectins are the cause of my Barrets Esophagus, and that lectins cause may ailments such as arthritis. According to Dr. Gundry the lectins in beans can be neutralized by rinsing and pressure cooking them. I love your Chunky Chilly and hope you can make it lectin free.

There's a couple links and the text of my open letters to whatsinmyfood.com :P

Search for lectins in the ingredient list, and to-date, and zero hits result. :x

Positivity can play a large part in this, perhaps even more than what you eat... my Grandma lived to 101 (and was very mentally alert and healthy even at 101), she drank a lot of diet coke and a seemingly regular American style diet. She was a very positive and happy person.
