Oh, no, that's not the main reason. It's an underlying one for most politicians, but no more for Trump than anyone else.

Trump has support for the same reason that Rev. Moon, Jim Jones, and Al Sharpton do: If you say ridiculous things and act with over-the-top lunacy, you're going to always have a small but vocal following. Why is it such a focus? Not because he has broad appeal, but because he's good copy. He's so buffoon-ish that he makes himself newsworthy. Similar to Con-yea or any of the Cardashyuns, but without the sleaze. Well, without most of it, anyway.

Wayne Allyn Root via Elizabeth wrote:Trump is the answer to what ails America, simply because he kills two birds with one stone.
America has two big problems. America is under attack by a vicious one-two combination. America has been ruined by two parties. And Trump’s mouth solves both problems.
It's kind of like saying "In America, obesity and cancer are the two largest causes of death. The solution to both of those problems is to give everyone cyanide so no one has to die from cancer any more.

As a metaphor goes, likening Trump to cyanide is fairly apt. In very small doses and for very specific uses, cyanide is quite useful. However, when a great deal of it is given to people, they die from exposure.

Apt.

Well, historically he's been one of America's favorite clowns, because while he's shown great business acumen (which has led him to file for bankruptcy 4 [FOUR] times) he's also been content to play an outrageous caricature of himself in the public eye. Unfortunately, he's started taking himself more seriously, which, unfortunately has led others to do the same.

The short answer is that Trump is still one of America's favorite clowns.

Many might not agree with Trump but at least he is showing he is different than the politicians in the USA and isn't afraid to say what he thinks. show that he doesn't think.
Fixed it for you.
I'd rather see Trump become president than yet another Bush or Clinton.
Way to set the bar. That's like saying you'd rather see Idi Amin Dada as the head of Israeli Security than Heinrich Himmler. I'd rather see that 19 year old kid who got elected mayor of Muskogee, OK than another Bush or Clinton.

It can include color of skin as this is one defining characteristic of racial difference. It cannot be based on religious practices. Racism is based on race. Because of the predominance of Muslim extremists being Arab or Persian, the term "racism" gets interchangeably used to describe a prejudice against Muslims, but it is an incorrect use of a word. Trump's comments about Mexico are racist and inflammatory. His comments about Muslims are also inflammatory but they're religiously prejudicial, not racist.

Trump is not going to get the nomination, so there is 0 chance he will become President. I still believe we haven't heard the last from Mitt Romney.

Elizabeth wrote:samizdat, you are fond of thowing around the word "racist" as if it is a derogatory term,
Its general usage is as a derogatory word. In reasoned and mature discussions, race, and the differences between them can be studied honestly without things being ignorantly judgmental. However, normally it is meant to imply a negative connotation.
There are differences between races, and all are entitled to prefer their own race.
True, but for public figures, perception becomes reality. Trump said the things here knowing they'd have a social impact.

Serragon wrote:Your definition of racism means that everyone in the world is a racist. Well done. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't find one culture superior to others. It is not always their native culture.
Your circle of experience is smaller than some others. I have met many who don't believe one is superior over another. This is different than finding examples of cultural idiosyncrasies that may be harmful. However, as a teacher I've met quite a few who believe that multi-culturalism is a great thing. I believe this notion to be a bunch of hooey, but there are many who embrace it.
Your idea that Trump is behind these incidents is pure lunacy. Equating him to Hitler shows your own ignorance.
Actions like this are consistent with Trump's megalomaniac behavior in the past. Godwin's Law is superceded if it is valid, the "law" is only effective if a false comparison is made. Cmoparing Trump's actions does not mean Trump will take the same path as Hitler, just that some of his tools are similar to Hitler's.

It is solely and 100% the criminals fault. He is 100% responsible for his actions, and there is NO exception in that rule for Islam pursuant to any politically correct fantasy.

A man in Virginia raped a teenaged girl. When the girl's father found out, he drove an hour to where the rapist lived and shot him dead. He then drove to the police station and turned himself in. The case went to court and the judge made it a bench case, found the man guilty, fined him $1 and sent him home.

The second man was found guilty. Because of the situation, the judge saw and understood that the victim contributed to his own death. This is not a justification of the killing, but it gives a degree of how the situation developed. Historically we have meddled around the globe in places we had no business being. We are globally reviled by many because of this. The vast number of people in Vietnam don't see us as their liberators, they see we killed over 2 million people there.

Trump doesn't speak the truth. He wraps a nugget of fact (different than truth) in a marketable coating and sells it. The man who said Trump could sell sand to an Arab was right: Now he's selling himself.

Jimmy Carter told the truth, as best he knew. How effective was he? As much as I despise his presidency, Carter was one of the most moral presidents in the 20th C., but he was a lousy president.

The Jews were all for Obama.

Jews run the Federal Reserve.

The Jewish lobbies were all for Obama.

Obama's White House Czars are Jews.

Most of our Federal department heads are dual citizen Israelis.

The Jews do not like Trump.

What do the Jews know about Trump that the American people don't know?

If Trump gets the presidency, that might put the Jews back 8 years and give us 8 more good years to grow the church out of the wilderness.

"A board member for the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado has resigned after urging people to kill supporters of presidential candidate Donald Trump.
"Loring Wirbel’s Facebook post was captured by The Daily Caller – a right-leaning online newspaper.

"The post states, 'The thing is, we have to really reach out to those who might consider voting for Trump and say, "This is [Joseph] Goebbels. This is the final solution. If you are voting for him I will have to shoot you before Election Day." They’re not going to listen to reason, so when justice is gone, there’s always force, [as Laurie1 would say] …'” (H/T: CBS Denver)

So while comparing Trump to Goebbels, the ACLU's Wirbel adopts the political remedy Goebbels had used -- death to the political opposition!"

"Reverend Franklin Graham Calls for a Halt on Muslim Immigration!

Reverend Franklin Graham, discussing a recent CNN article that documented various leaders in the GOP disagreeing with Trump about Muslim migration argued that the truth is that Trump is right – we should halt Muslim migration until we can figure out a way to properly vet immigrants or our war with Islam is over.

Reverend Graham is simply voicing the same concerns that MILLIONS of Americans have about Muslim migration to the US. There are many Americans who believe it to be incongruous of our government to be spending so much effort to “protect” us while allowing hundreds of thousands of unvetted Muslim migrants to move into our nation from Syria. In fact, while the NSA, FBI and other government agencies spend their time spying on Americans and collecting vast swaths of our personal information they simultaneously are allowing possible terrorists to settle comfortably into our homeland.

The GOP leaders argue that stopping Muslim migrants from coming simply because they are Muslim is “Un-American” and not consistent with our values. However, when conservatives like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul point out that spying on innocent Americans is also “Un-American” and inconsistent with our values… the same GOP leaders mock and deride them by saying that they aren’t interested in defending American lives! It’s disgusting. If Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, John McCain (and yes, even Marco Rubio) were consistent they would all be agreeing with Donald Trump right now… perhaps this is yet another reason that Trump still leads in the polls.

Here’s what Reverend Graham had to say about it all…

From Facebook:

For some time I have been saying that Muslim immigration into the United States should be stopped until we can properly vet them or until the war with Islam is over. Donald J. Trump has been criticized by some for saying something similar. The new Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said yesterday that he disagrees—saying that “such views are not what this party stands for and more importantly it’s not what this country stands for.” Politicians in Washington seem to be totally disconnected with reality.

Research shows that there are 2.75 million Muslims living in the U.S. According to a poll commissioned by the Center for Security Policy, 51% of Muslims living in America believe “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to sharia” (Islamic law) instead of the U.S. Constitution. 29% agree that violence against those who insult Mohammad is acceptable, and 25% agree that violence against America can be justified as part of global jihad. Among males under the age of 45, that number rises to 36%. And 29% of males under 45 believe that violence against America is justified in order to make Sharia the law of the land. This is frightening.

Our politicians are not listening to the truth—my prayer is that God will open their eyes. This affects our security and the future of our nation. If you agree, email your Congressman or Senator today, and SHARE this with others… "

"Language is extremely graphic. Even with its hateful language, it is difficult not to laugh at this video, which utterly defines the word “irony.” Ebou Bah, a self-proclaimed Muslim, recently posted a video to YouTube issuing his “rebuttal” to Trump over his plan to halt Muslim immigration.

Bah’s video was little more than a two-minute obscenity-laced tirade against the Republican candidate, in which he waved around a pair of cheap kitchen knives and threatened to “circumcise” Trump. At one point Bah incredulously asked, “Ban Muslims for what?!?”

There is a childhood story of a man that stole from the productive to give to the lazy. Much like the socialist countries of today. God helped a group of people escape the tyranny of King George and create a "promised land" and inspired a Constitution to make sure that no such evil would befall this great nation. But wicked men prevailed and the United States became almost as socialist as the heathen country it gained it's independence from.

American citizens were largely asleep to their awful situation, but 8 years under a dark president began to wake some people up. Republicans were elected on promises to bring light to the darkness, but they lied and were therefore no different than the oppressors.

A man on a white horse rode up and dared to speak the truth of the awful situation. He had his own money and was not afraid to speak against the status quo. He gained the approval of nationalists that are not fond of diversity. Jeb and Hillary did not like him though because he did not worship Satan, he worshiped himself. Followers of Christ realized that it is not necessary for one man to lose money for another to gain money. It is actually possible for all to achieve and does not require a thief to steal from the productive to feed the lazy.

I am not going to vote for Trump, but I do thank God that he is running. People of a Monarchy will never be able to understand the freedom that a Constitutional Republic offers. This is why God found it necessary to show both good and evil in order that one could choose for himself.

A Black man can not understand what it is like to be White. He can declare bad words about whites or call it white privilege, but neither is true. Likewise the captive calling freedom, evil. Although Luciferians, having seen the differences from the beginning, chose captivity on purpose and feel that they have made the correct choice, even to this day.

Outsiders, having no real knowledge, obtain information from a mainstream media that rarely tells the truth and even then only riddled with lies. In the computer world this is called GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). It is difficult to make a correct decision, when the information one bases the decision on is false.
