Trump has support for the same reason that Rev. Moon, Jim Jones, and Al Sharpton do: If you say ridiculous things and act with over-the-top lunacy, you're going to always have a small but vocal following. Why is it such a focus? Not because he has broad appeal, but because he's good copy. He's so buffoon-ish that he makes himself newsworthy. Similar to Con-yea or any of the Cardashyuns, but without the sleaze. Well, without most of it, anyway.
