Gallup: Trump approval highest among Mormons

KUTV) — According to a recent Gallup poll, President Trump's job approval is highest among Mormons, and lowest among Muslims.

Trump's job approval is well above average for Mormons, marked at 61%. However, this approval is more frosty among Muslims, for whom his approval only clocks in at 18%.

According to the poll, Jews' approval was 26%, whereas Catholics' was 38%, which is similar to the national average.

The full job approval ratings are as follows:
  • Mormons: 61%
  • Protestant/Other Christian: 48%
  • National adults: 39%
  • Catholic: 38%
  • Jewish: 26%
  • None/Atheist/Agnostic: 23%
  • Other non-Christian religion: 22%
  • Muslim: 18%
According to Gallup, the results are based on more than 122,000 interviews conducted as part of Gallup Daily tracking in 2017, with sample sizes ranging from 60,411 Protestants to 893 Muslims.

Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Jan. 2-Dec. 30, 2017, on the Gallup U.S. Daily survey, with a random sample of 122,322 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

"Once again we saw a disgusting, partisan spectacle masquerading as a “Senate Committee hearing” when DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen appeared on the Hill supposedly to talk about her job as one of the nation’s top protectors.

But, instead of asking Nielsen about the government’s plans to stop Islamic terror, or to secure our borders, Democrat Senators decided to waste the country’s time by playing partisan political games and refusing to do the nation’s business.

That’s right, the Democrat Senator grilled Secretary Nielsen on whether or not President Donald Trump said that some countries were “sh**hole nations.”

During the January 16 meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee Nielsen was subjected to round after round of questions over and over again about the supposed comments that extremist, left-wing, Illinois Democrat Senator Dick Durbin claimed Trump said during a closed-door immigration meeting last week.

After a meeting on some proposed compromise legislation on Obama’s failed DACA program, Durbin insisted that Trump said that he wasn’t interested in immigration from Haiti, El Salvador or other “sh**hole nations” in Africa.

Durbin immediately ran to the compliant, left-wing media to proclaim Trump a “racist” (again). So far not a single person has fully backed up Senator Durbin to prove that Trump actually made the “sh**hole” comment, but the media is reporting it as “fact,” anyway.

In any case, to further push his unproven accusation against Trump, Durbin used his time in the Committee meeting to continue to flog his claims that the president used the slur and repeatedly demanded that Kirstjen back him up on his proclamation.

Kirstjen refused to do so saying that many of the people in last week’s meeting were using “tough language” on immigration. She even noted that Durbin’s favorite liberal Republican, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R, SC), was also using “tough language” in the meeting.

But her repeated answers to the absurd questions about the “sh**hole” comment didn’t satisfy the Democrats willing to turn the Committee meeting into a partisan attack fest instead of sticking to the business of the American people.

In fact, at one point Kirstjen seemed to have had enough of the nonsense and told Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D, CT) that she had already answered the question. “Sir, respectfully, I have answered this question repeatedly,” she said adding, “I have nothing further to say about it.”

“She acknowledged several times that the meeting,” Fox News reported, “aimed at reaching a bipartisan immigration deal, was ‘very impassioned’ and said several of the lawmakers including Trump used ‘tough language.’ However, she said she did not hear Trump use the racially-tinged word or words attributed to him.”

“What I heard him say was that he’d like to move away from a lottery (based immigration system) to a merit-based one,” Nielsen said of what she heard Trump say during the private meeting last week.

But as we noted earlier this week Dicky Durbin has a very long history of telling lies in the service to the liberal cause.

So, when he says he “heard” Trump say “sh**hole nations,” there is little reason in the world to believe a word he says."

"There is a razor thin line in the world of political correctness that must be abolished, and Donald Trump is taking a step in that direction this week.
According to the thought police of the left’s social justice movement, the only societal factions worth protecting are those that vote democrat. Feminists, minorities, the LGBTQ community, and all manner of millennial groups have all been wined and dined by the left’s incessant progressivism, and are delivering the votes needed for the democrats to stay nearly relevant. What they fail to realize is that this steamroller of semantics and segregation will eventually leave even the most progressive fringe American behind.
One group of Americans whose rights are on the downturn have been religious Americans for whom their faith is a deciding factor in all aspects of their lives.
Religious freedom is a phrase that has been consistently mocked by the left, and used to brand conservative Christians as snake-handling, backwoods Bible thumpers. This inexcusable generalization is no different than the taboo stereotypes that the left love to accuse the nation of abusing, yet, it is allowed to continue unabated to this day.
Now, as Americans of faith are finding themselves persecuted further every day, President Donald Trump has stepped in to put his foot down in the realm of healthcare, where this sort of liberal discrimination can ruin lives.
“The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced Thursday it will create a new division under the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) responsible for investigating complaints filed by workers claiming that their employers have violated their religious rights.
“The changes represent a major shift for the OCR, which in the past has primarily focused on enforcing patient safety and privacy concerns.
“‘No one should be forced to choose between helping sick people and living by one’s deepest moral or religious convictions, and the new division will help guarantee that victims of unlawful discrimination find justice,’ OCR Director Roger Severino said at the announcement ceremony Thursday morning.
“‘We are saying, with the launch of this division, you do not need to shed your religious identity, you do not need to shed your moral convictions to be a part of the public square.'”
Undoubtedly, the left will provide us with some fear-mongering argument that is meant to claim that this makes Trump the bigot in the story, not those who would oppress the religious views of the American faithful.
We mustn’t ever forget the stories of our ancestors in America, both from the Mayflower and the American Revolution, who sought out the obstacles worth hurdling in their own struggles for freedom of religion. It is not often easy, as a person of God, to disagree with your fellow man on issues of this magnitude. That struggle can be long and unnerving, but that is precisely what our faith is for: Persevering."

I think you crossed the line with this post, Joel. Are you competing with Sarah Silverman or something?

And could it be, you are too quick to believe all the dirt you read about on Trump? This post certainly indicates it.

Ken Starr Says Mueller Should Investigate Trump for ‘Lying to the American People’

Ken Starr Says Mueller Should Investigate Trump for ‘Lying to the American People’

Ken Starr, the former independent counsel who investigated Bill Clinton, recently said there’s no apparent evidence that President Donald Trump broke any laws in the Russia probe. Now, he doesn’t seem to be so sure. POTUS ordered the firing of special counsel Robert Mueller last June amid news that Mueller was looking into Trump for a possible obstruction of justice case, according to The New York Times. This contradicts the president’s claim that he never did such a thing.

“I think lying to the American people is a serious issue that has to be explored,” Starr said in Sunday’s episode of This Week. He later added that “I think that is something that Bob Mueller should look at.”

He stops short of saying Trump broke the law, however. Starr appeared on This Week to debate Law&Crime founder Dan Abrams over whether the reported request was illegal. Abrams argued it could support a possible obstruction of justice case if this were part of a pattern of behavior meant to end the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded in Russian 2016 election interference.

Starr said no, the request was fine because the president only wanted to fire Mueller because he disliked him.

“The president’s power is extremely broad as long as he’s not engaged in discrimination or accepting bribes,” Starr said.

Abrams agreed that Trump could legally order the firing of Mueller, but argued that “that’s not the relevant question here.”
