Canadian mother sentenced to 3 years in prison after child dies from strep throat
A Canadian woman was sentenced to three years in prison after her 7-year-old son reportedly died from a treatable throat infection.
Tamara Lovett, 48, of Calgary, will serve time behind bars for failing to take her son Ryan to the doctor after he became sick with strep throat, CBC News reports.
Lovett’s sentence was designed to deter other parents from refusing medical treatment for their sick children, Court of Queen's Bench Justice Kristine Eidsvik said.
“If your child is not getting better, you are legally and morally bound to take your child to an actual doctor for actual medicine,” the justice said during sentencing, according to CBC News.
Lovett's son died in March of 2013, just 10 days after he became sick with strep throat.
The mother testified that she believed her son had a cold or the flu. She treated his symptoms with dandelion tea and oil of oregano, but never sought medical attention when his condition worsened.
According to court records, doctors said Ryan also had meningitis and pneumonia. They testified that his infection would have been treatable had he been prescribed antibiotics, according to CBC News.
During sentencing arguments on Friday, Lovett said if she could turn back time she would take her son to the doctor.
“(I) can’t begin to forgive myself,” she said. “I hope others learn from my ignorance.”

According to Right Wing Watch, the dazzling display took place at the Teens4Truth summit in Dallas, aimed at confronting teens and their parents with the “truth” about LGBT people.
Reverend Robert Oscar Lopez, head of the Texas chapter of MassResistance, invited Florida minister Derek Paul on stage to perform, though as Lopez admits in his intro, “I don’t know what he’s doing—that’s why I’m hesitating.”

Michigan Association of Civil Rights Activists (MACRA) Spokesman Mitch Kahle waged a complaint with Hudsonville Public Schools (HPS) that a fifth-grade teacher at Alward Elementary School was holding a voluntary Bible class during lunchtime for students to attend. Soon afterward, HPS made the announcement that the class was discontinued.
The assistant superintendent of human resources for Hudson Public Schools, Scott B. Smith, maintained that the district took action against the teacher after examining to situation.
“District administration verified the details of Mr. Kahle’s report, and the teacher – who thought the Bible discussion was appropriate because it was during lunch and voluntary – immediately put an end to these lunch meetings,” Smith announced via email to The Christian Post (CP) Thursday. “We will continue to communicate and educate staff at all levels on the District’s policies related to religion in schools.”
Kahle insisted that the district’s decision against the Bible class was rooted in public school protocol.“Every public-school teacher, principal and superintendent should know that they are prohibited from engaging in any activity with students that involves religious beliefs, rituals or doctrines,” Kahle asserted, according to Mlive.com.
Smith and HPS Superintendent Nick Ceglarek discussed the issue with fifth-grade teacher Christopher Karel on the day of Kahle’s complaint and confirmed the story, which resulted in the two school officials’ immediate cancellation of the lunchtime Bible talks.
“We want to make sure our actions are fully aligned with the law,” Smith told Mlive.com. “The teacher thought it was okay because it was occurring during a non-instructional time.”
The Bible talks were extremely popular with students.
“Smith said their understanding was that the talks only occurred twice, after students approached Karel about holding the meetings during lunch in his classroom,” Mlive.com’s Monica Scott recounted. “He said they were informed between 35 and 45 students attended one or both of the lunches in total.”
But the civil rights groups alleged that a couple parents complained about the strictly voluntary meetings.
“Kahle said his group was approached separately by two parents about teacher-led Bible studies that had been ongoing this semester every Friday at lunch – Thursday, if school was out on Fridays,” Scott added. “He said parents informed MACRA that Karel would read Bible verses, tell a story or show a video and lead students in prayer. He said their group doesn’t buy reports that the principal and some teachers weren’t aware of what was occurring at lunch.”
HPS officials also backed down to Kahle’s “civil rights” group less than two years ago, when Bible studies were led by adults with Bible Club Ministries International of Western Michigan (BCMI) in an RV parked on school grounds.
“State law prohibits ministry meetings on-campus during the school day,” Mlive.com reported back in 2015. “[Scott Smith] said the district discontinued the practice and contacted Bible Club Ministries International-Western Michigan – which has provided the instruction for years – to let them know of the policy change.”
However, BCMI was not kicked off campus and Bible studies near the campus continued to be held for interested students after school hours.
“The district did not evict the Bible group, and Smith said the district is working with leaders there to find another gathering time,” the 2015 reported continued. “After-school Bible clubs continue to meet at Forest Grove, Jamestown and Georgetown elementaries.”
Kahle claimed that the state rules prohibited the solicitation of students to attend religious instruction classes on public school property.
“The staff of the public school system shall neither encourage nor discourage participation in any religious program,” Kahle wrote at the time, alleging that the South elementary school building violated the rules by permitting the Christian group to solicit, distribute permission slips and hand out fliers promoting the Bible club.
After the latest incident, Karel, who has been employed with the school district for nearly a quarter century, did not receive discipline for holding the voluntary Bible classes.”

"Police bodycam footage released this week proves cops in the Colorado town of Fort Collins acted justifiably when they opened fire and killed Jeremy Holmes, 19, during an encounter earlier this year.
The encounter occurred near the Colorado State University campus on July 1 after Holmes’ mother, Susan, dialed 911 to say her son was walking down the street toward his brother and sister-in-law’s house armed with a “big knife” and intent on killing the couple, according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
“He’s got mental health issues that have been growing for the last few months just dramatically,” she said on the call. “There’s no reason for him to be doing this.”
She further revealed that her son planned to charge at the police “so that he’ll die today.”
“He just said you’re going to lose either two sons today or one,” she said. “I’m just so horrified. I’m just so horrified.”
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found him carrying a 11.25 inch bayonet knife.

Holmes repeatedly ignores requests by the cops to drop his weapon, claiming he wants to die.
“This is the end, so I want you to kill me,” he says in the video.
About two minutes into the footage, an officer identified by the Fort Collins Coloradoan as Colorado State University police Cpl. Phil Morris announces that he wants to try tasering Holmes.
Before he can even pull his Taser out of his belt, though, Holmes comes charging toward him, spurring him and his partner, Fort Collins Police Services officer Erin Mast, into opening fire.
It’s clear from the footage there were no other options for Morris and Mast; they had to either open fire on Holmes or face the risk of being harmed.
This footage also makes it clear why body cameras are a must for every man and woman in blue, notwithstanding the criticism of some leftist race-baiters.
Without these cameras, someone — be it Holmes’ family, anti-cop protesters or whomever — could have easily claimed he had been killed unjustifiably.
But as is the case in the vast majority of police shootings, Holmes died justifiably as per his own reckless actions."

"Can princesses be hairy? Can princesses be male? Is being a princess a state of mind?
No matter how much your young daughter may believe the last one, the answer is sadly still no. On the other two counts, I suppose 1) it depends on shaving habits in the kingdom we’re talking about here, and 2) not so much.
There’s a pretty good chance you think the same way, I would wager. And, according to Disney, you’re dead wrong.
Yes, the House of Mouse has jumped aboard the PC gravy train with a male “princess” of sorts, all on a kids’ show that’s already featured a same-sex kiss.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the plotline was featured in a recent episode of “Star vs. The Forces of Evil,” which airs on Disney XD.
In the episode, a character named Marco Diaz has disguised himself as a princess in order to save the denizens of St. Olga’s Reform School for Wayward Princesses from its headmistress, the evil Ms. Heinous.
This being a cable channel aimed at pre-teens, the transgender “princess” is named “Turdina.” In the episode, Turdina is about to out himself to the other princesses as being male when Ms. Heinous barges in and produces evidence — chest hair — that Turdina really isn’t a princess.
However, the other princesses disagree.
“That doesn’t prove anything. Princesses can be hairy,” a princess can be heard shouting.
“Why does it matter if he’s a boy? Nothing he said was wrong,” says another.
“Yeah, we believe in you, Turdina,” another chimes in.
“Turdina is a state of mind!”
“He can be a princess if he wants to!”
I suppose we shouldn’t give too much credence to the opinions of princesses who couldn’t figure out that someone named “Turdina” wasn’t on the level; it sounds like the kind of prank call sobriquet that couldn’t even get through the screeners at C-SPAN.
However, according to a report from the HuffPo’s Queer Voices section, Turdina is exactly what our world needs right now.
“It’s a beautiful moment and one that could be incredibly influential for kids who are soaking up social cues about what it means to be a boy or a girl — or any gender in between — and what supposedly is or isn’t possible because of how they identify,” the article, written by Noah Michelson, says.
There are several things to consider here, first among them the chortle I had to suppress when talking about a “beautiful moment” involving a character named “Turdina.”
The problem when we talk about “gender” in most of the Western world is that we’ve really substituted the social concept of “gender roles” for biological concept of gender.
If Turdina thinks that his life is more fulfilled as a princess, more power to him. I wish him the best of luck and I certainly don’t wish to either disparage him or make life more difficult for him, cartoon character though he may be. However, no matter whether he has taken on a gender role that is socially female, he is still biologically male. No amount of hormones, gender reassignment surgery or sensitivity training for those around him will rid Turdina of his Y chromosome.
There’s scant time here to get into gender dysphoria syndrome or the lack of scientific evidence that gender transitioning actually has any psychological benefits for those who undergo it. However, I will personally say that I strive to treat each person as a human being, with the respect and dignity that they deserve. Even if their name is Turdina.
That being said, I’m not going to call a man a woman or a woman a man based on the suggestion of anything except hard science, of which incredibly little exists at the moment. Yet, plenty buy into this psychosis and insist others do, as well.
Disney, alas, has not changed my mind. The problem is that this is being peddled to youngsters, who don’t understand the social implications of what’s being shown or what’s being pitched to them. It’s little more than propaganda, analogous to the kind of ridiculous anti-drug cartoons that used to air on Saturday mornings during the 1980s and 1990s.
The only difference is: at least we could prove the drug problem existed."

"Can princesses be hairy? Can princesses be male? Is being a princess a state of mind?
No matter how much your young daughter may believe the last one, the answer is sadly still no. On the other two counts, I suppose 1) it depends on shaving habits in the kingdom we’re talking about here, and 2) not so much.
There’s a pretty good chance you think the same way, I would wager. And, according to Disney, you’re dead wrong.
Yes, the House of Mouse has jumped aboard the PC gravy train with a male “princess” of sorts, all on a kids’ show that’s already featured a same-sex kiss.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the plotline was featured in a recent episode of “Star vs. The Forces of Evil,” which airs on Disney XD.
In the episode, a character named Marco Diaz has disguised himself as a princess in order to save the denizens of St. Olga’s Reform School for Wayward Princesses from its headmistress, the evil Ms. Heinous.
This being a cable channel aimed at pre-teens, the transgender “princess” is named “Turdina.” In the episode, Turdina is about to out himself to the other princesses as being male when Ms. Heinous barges in and produces evidence — chest hair — that Turdina really isn’t a princess.
However, the other princesses disagree.
“That doesn’t prove anything. Princesses can be hairy,” a princess can be heard shouting.
“Why does it matter if he’s a boy? Nothing he said was wrong,” says another.
“Yeah, we believe in you, Turdina,” another chimes in.
“Turdina is a state of mind!”
“He can be a princess if he wants to!”
I suppose we shouldn’t give too much credence to the opinions of princesses who couldn’t figure out that someone named “Turdina” wasn’t on the level; it sounds like the kind of prank call sobriquet that couldn’t even get through the screeners at C-SPAN.
However, according to a report from the HuffPo’s Queer Voices section, Turdina is exactly what our world needs right now.
“It’s a beautiful moment and one that could be incredibly influential for kids who are soaking up social cues about what it means to be a boy or a girl — or any gender in between — and what supposedly is or isn’t possible because of how they identify,” the article, written by Noah Michelson, says.
There are several things to consider here, first among them the chortle I had to suppress when talking about a “beautiful moment” involving a character named “Turdina.”
The problem when we talk about “gender” in most of the Western world is that we’ve really substituted the social concept of “gender roles” for biological concept of gender.
If Turdina thinks that his life is more fulfilled as a princess, more power to him. I wish him the best of luck and I certainly don’t wish to either disparage him or make life more difficult for him, cartoon character though he may be. However, no matter whether he has taken on a gender role that is socially female, he is still biologically male. No amount of hormones, gender reassignment surgery or sensitivity training for those around him will rid Turdina of his Y chromosome.
There’s scant time here to get into gender dysphoria syndrome or the lack of scientific evidence that gender transitioning actually has any psychological benefits for those who undergo it. However, I will personally say that I strive to treat each person as a human being, with the respect and dignity that they deserve. Even if their name is Turdina.
That being said, I’m not going to call a man a woman or a woman a man based on the suggestion of anything except hard science, of which incredibly little exists at the moment. Yet, plenty buy into this psychosis and insist others do, as well.
Disney, alas, has not changed my mind. The problem is that this is being peddled to youngsters, who don’t understand the social implications of what’s being shown or what’s being pitched to them. It’s little more than propaganda, analogous to the kind of ridiculous anti-drug cartoons that used to air on Saturday mornings during the 1980s and 1990s.
The only difference is: at least we could prove the drug problem existed."

“Be Warned, Folks,” read the headline of a transcript from Rush Limbaugh’s Tuesday show where he told listeners about the popularization of gay nativity scenes that feature two Josephs or two Marys bowing over baby Jesus.
The depictions, known as “gaytivity” scenes, were described in an article for feminist publication Refinery 29, which posed the question, “What if it wasn’t Mary and Joseph who met their child that night, but instead Murray and Joseph? Or Marty and Joseph?”
After all, Limbaugh noted, “They say Jesus had two fathers … God and Joseph.”
As noted by The Daily Wire, Limbaugh pointed out that there was not a woman in the male-male “gaytivity” scene which was posted on Twitter, “yet a feminist group is publicizing this,” he said referencing the Refinery 29 article.

Limbaugh called the tweet “the kind of rot that’s permeating out there on social media that is further obscuring and blurring reality and tradition.”
“It’s just this never-ending quest for people who don’t consider themselves to be normal to try to change that and be considered normal,” he said.
Limbaugh noted that the gaytivity scene was “blowing up Twitter, but I don’t know how. I don’t know if it’s being massively supported or not. I just wanted to alert you to the fact that it’s there.”
In response to the tweet cited in the Refinery 29 article, one Twitter user posted a photograph of her “2 Marys” gaytivity scene, which featured the baby Jesus draped in a rainbow blanket.

The late John Wilkie, M.D., was for years the president of the National Right-to-Life in Washington, D.C. He and his wife compiled the book, Abortion: Questions and Answers (2003). They noted: “Women who had one induced abortion had a 17.5% miscarriage rate in subsequent pregnancies as compared to a 7.5% rate in a non-aborted group.” (p. 163).
Tewannah Aman knows firsthand the pain of missing out of parenthood by following the abortion lies. Today, she and her husband, John, serve as directors of the Broward County Right to Life.
She told me, “Abortion hurts women, both physically and emotionally. I know. I am one of them. After I found out what happens to an unborn baby during an abortion procedure, I was devastated. God healed my heart and gave me peace, but it has not been an easy road. Then we lost our little boy at 21 1/2 weeks into the pregnancy. Who would have thought that we would not go on to have more children? The reality of the abortion came back to haunt me. I have many friends who have had abortions and never went on to have children.”

"Harassing someone because of their ethnicity is wrong. A person’s DNA is not in their power, and, therefore, a person should be evaluated on their character, not their DNA. But, I guess if you’re a police officer in Chicago, you’re allowed to be racist.
It appears that detective Esteban Gomez, who would think would understand how wrong racism is as he is presumably Latino, decided to harass some teenagers coming out of a pawn shop. He said later that one of the teens was a suspect in a robbery, but that didn’t even come up in the harassment. Matt Agorist writes about the incident:
In the video, Gomez is seen screaming at one of the teens who asked what he did wrong. He then starts to yell and says, “Wanna be hard with me? Be hard with me, go ahead. Think you’re a tough guy?”
In an attempt to intimidate the teens, Gomez starts to walk away and then turns around and says, “Who’s got the weed on them?”
The group reacts to his comment and Gomez turns around once again as he’s walking away and says “Did someone say [expletive] off?”
The group responds and says, “no,” just as Gomez points at two of the teens and says “You and you.”
Here’s the thing: the teens offered no resistance, did not put up a physical struggle with the officer. When one of the teens asked the cop why he was harassing them, his response was, “Because you’re white!”
This is completely unacceptable. Racism in any shape, form, or fashion is wrong. But what makes this even more infuriating is that, when a parent of one of the teens filed a complaint with the police department, she was told that Gomez had been disciplined for “behavior unbecoming an officer.”
That’s some understated description of the behaviour.
If these teens had been African-American and had been told that they were being harassed for being black, this officer would have lost his job (as he should), but Gomez gets some kind of unspecified “discipline” but gets to keep his job? That’s outrageous!
I can only speculate as to why Gomez kept his job, but that kind of behavior has no place in law enforcement. There should be outrage across Chicago over this situation just like there would be if the teens had been African-American. But, it turns out that only alternative media is covering this story.
So much for the mainstream media wanting to cover real news.
If you live in the Chicago area, I urge you to do what you can to put pressure on the Lake Villa Police Department to get this rot out of their midst. If law enforcement expect to be treated with respect, then they need to make sure that law enforcement officers are worthy of that respect."

A gay and transgender advocacy group put books all about transgender individuals on a reading list for three to four-year-olds to read in the United Kingdom.
The London LGBTQ advocacy group “Educate and Celebrate” created the reading lists. The organization, funded by the Department of Education, seeks to“implement an LGBT+Inclusive curriculum to successfully eradicate homophobia, biphobia and transphobia from our nursery, primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, organizations and communities,” according to the group’s website.
Nursery and school reading lists now feature books such as “Introducing Teddy: A Gentle Story About Gender and Friendship” and “Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl?”, according to The Sunday Times.
“The book collections we have sourced for schools are much needed to break the heteronormative model to reflect real-life families, which come in all different shapes and sizes,” said Educate and Celebrate founder Elly Barnes, the Times reports. “Our young people are not born racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic.”
“The problem lies with the grown-ups and giving them the confidence and the resources to be inclusive of gender identity and sexual orientation—the books provide an accessible way for teachers to do this,” Barnes said.
Both of the books listed above feature characters that not only question their gender, but wish that they were of the opposite gender.
“In my heart, I’ve always known that I’m a girl teddy, not a boy teddy. I wish my name was Tilly, not Thomas,” reads a line from Introducing Teddy. “Isn’t it time we stopped putting our children in pink and blue boxes?” wrote book author Sarah Savage in the description of her book.
Other education leaders, however, don’t agree with Savage’s methods and say that educating children at such a young age about changing genders is inappropriate.
“They are inflicting adult neuroses about gender onto children who are not interested in gender,” said Chris McGovern of the Campaign for Real Education. “They are inflicting adult neuroses about gender onto children who are not interested in gender.”
“Adults need to stop thinking children see the world the way they do,” McGovern continued. “They may play at being a goblin one day, a dragon the next… inflicting adult neuroses about gender onto children is damaging and cruel.”
A taxpayer-funded school in the U.S. recently reassigned a fifth-grade teacher after she told the little kids in her classroom to address her with the title “Mx.” and refer to her using the third-person plural pronouns “they,” “them” and “their” because she identifies as gender neutral."

As if glorifying lust and promoting adultery and pornography weren’t horrific enough, Playboy is up to something worse than anyone could have ever imagined.
And if Playboy succeeds with their plan, traditional family values will forever be buried and replaced by a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah.
