Extreme weather... the warmer it gets the wilder the weather goes.

Are you suggesting that 'global warming' is the reason for these weather anomalies?

While Siberia, Russia had 90 degree F. temps July 28 & 29, we awoke to 38 degree F. those same dates - record low temps.

The Big Boys have the toys to play with global jet streams causing torrential rains or drought, create tornadoes & hail, steer hurricanes, discharge & amplify electrical storms, provoke earthquakes, and even turn the ionosphere into a plasma state.

And...they simply adore breaking things.

No... in all the research I have been able to gather... it seems the "Sun" (and what's coming from the stars) has more to do with weather anomalies and global warming than any hick-ups the Big Boys can produce.

'Hick-ups'?

Isaiah 14
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

16...Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof;

Joel 2
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

It's funny that on the news I heard them talking about what is causing the "ice to melt" on our north and south pole at an unprecedented rate: ... they said it was "the human factor from the carbon dioxide emissions"

"...Human Impact. There are many different factors that have contributed to the melting of the polar ice caps, but the main reason is from the burning of fossil fuels." ... carbon dioxide emissions, this is baloney! The powers that control the medial and political agendas are not telling the truth...

On a spiritual note, they are right about one thing... the thing causing of all the anomalies in weather and earth changes are caused by "Human Impact" ... right on! The true story is "Human Sin Emissions" are out of control... "Corruption in human behavior" is seen everywhere... change this behavior and the garden of Eden would return.

My thoughts on Global Warming.
Mormon 8:31

Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be great pollutions upon the face of the earth; there shall be murders, and robbing, and lying, and deceivings, and whoredoms, and all manner of abominations; when there shall be many who will say, Do this, or do that, and it mattereth not, for the Lord will uphold such at the last day. But wo unto such, for they are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity.
I think global warming is the same playbook as the Iraq war in the sense that if a politician can raise the anxiety and concern in the citizens to a sufficient degree, they can then easily leverage tax dollars toward their own purposes, usually businesses owned by friends and associates.

The Iraq war benefited Halliburton and many companies that support republicans. Nobody complained when tax dollars were used for these purposes because everyone had bought in.

Likewise, if liberals can drum up enough fear for global warming, nobody will complain when they give money to their green energy friends (a fraction of which is donated back to DNC for politicking.)

The side effect, whether Al Gore means to do this or not, is that they are stealing God's voice. These events would normally humble people and cause them to ponder their standing before God.

Not anymore. Now they say "We did this to ourselves!" or "If only they would pass more environmental legislation."

In a sense, they are like the last generation of Nephites and Jaredites who refused to be humbled and only got angry when catastrophe struck.

That said, I'm all for "tending to the garden" and keeping the earth nice. Ever seen a dilapidated temple grounds or ward grounds? No.

I'm fine reducing emissions and seeking alternative energies, but for geo-political and health reasons.

I think global warming will lead to a universal carbon tax. Already in California, businesses must trade carbon credits for their emissions. Failure to own enough carbon credits results in punishments and fines, which impacts their ability to do business (buy or sell.)

Speaking of carbon credits: Carbon has a unique property as an element. It has 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons. 666.

If businesses have to pay carbon credits to do business, could this be the mark of the beast? I don't know. People are always looking forward to RFID chips and things like that, perhaps that will be it.

Whatever the case, I don't buy global warming. I'm a "flat earther" I guess.
There are agrarian viking villages which are being unearthed beneath these receding glaciers. The news won't report on them. My question is this: What kind of cars were Vikings driving back then to make the earth so warm?

Global Warming contradicts God's promise that there is enough and to spare for all his children on earth.

I agree... Watch though as we get into the 7th Seal and "global warming" really kicks in ...:

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Tornado outbreaks are getting more violent

A tornado may cause localized destruction, but the most severe problems come when a storm system spawns multiple tornadoes. This creates what's called a tornado outbreak, which spreads destruction across a wider area. Now, a new study suggests that the most violent tornado outbreaks are on the rise. But the researchers behind the study see no indication that the rise in tornado outbreaks is connect with our warming climate.

It would make sense for a warming climate to influence tornado activity. After all, higher temperatures mean more energy in the atmosphere, potentially powering the storms. But past studies have produced mixed results when it comes to tornado activity. There's not a significant trend in the number of tornadoes or the frequency of outbreaks (defined as six or more tornadoes that occur in rapid succession). At the same time, tornadoes are occurring in more of the year, and the number of tornadoes in outbreaks has become increasingly variable.

A team of researchers from Columbia University (Michael Tippett, Chiarra Lepore, and Joel Cohen) decided to look at this last figure more carefully. They collected data on the number of storms in outbreaks in the period between 1965 and 2015. While there was no trend in the number of outbreaks, the number of tornadoes per outbreak has gone up across that time period. Not only was the mean number of tornadoes per outbreak going up, but the more extreme outbreaks—the ones with the most storms—were increasing the fastest.

So the authors formally defined an "extreme outbreak" as an event that spawns a dozen tornadoes or more. There were 435 of these in their study period, but there was no indication of a statistically significant increase over that time. They next divided those 435 events into groups representing different percentages of severity (again, measured in the total number of tornadoes per outbreak). With this data, the authors saw a clear trend: the most extreme outbreaks have gone up over this period.

While the trend wasn't extreme, it added up over time. "The estimated number of tornadoes in the 5-year most extreme outbreak roughly doubles from 40 in 1965 to nearly 80 in 2015," the authors note.

The authors then checked whether correlations with known climate cycles, like the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, could explain the changes. That didn't work out. It also didn't match an atmospheric change that's been driven by rising temperatures. What did show a relationship was a specific measure of atmospheric wind shear, but that measure hadn't been previously linked to the climate.

The authors argue that this association with wind shear also means that the trend isn't likely to lead to meteorologists having an improved ability to identify tornadoes. But they also note that many of the outbreak measures that they're excited about dropped to their lowest level in a decade last year. So, while the trend is significant, we may want to revisit it in a few years.

My cousins in Ontario, Canada said they'll have to cut the grass in December. Guess Hawaii is getting all the snow instead.
Hawaii snowfall: Parts of state receive weather warning
4 December 2016

Parts of the US state of Hawaii have received a winter weather warning, with up to three feet (90cm) of snow over the past few days.

Weather experts say that it is not unusual for snow to fall in tropical Hawaii, but rarely has it fallen so heavily at such low altitudes.

The snow is heaviest around two of the island's highest peaks, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.

Other parts of Hawaii were hit by flash floods, US media reported.

More snow is also forecast for Sunday.

Meteorologist Matt Foster told the Los Angeles Times that while Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa - both of which are nearly 14,000ft (4,260m) - are sometimes hit by snowfall five or six times a year, two to three feet of snow across the rest of the island in "a few short days is at the higher end of what we'd typically get".

Biblical storm cloud of dust and rain 'sent by God to put a barrier between Israel and ISIS'
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news ... in-9416953" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The bizarre claims have emerged after video footage appears to show the storm stopping dead on the border of Syria and Israel

Claims are being made that a biblical storm cloud of dust and rain was 'sent by God' to act as a barrier between Israel and ISIS .

The huge storm allegedly stopped on the border of Syria, and was 'unable' to enter Israel's Golan Heights region.

Footage of the strange weather phenomenon was uploaded to Facebook by Israel News Online.

They claimed that the storm was an act of God, or 'divine intervention' to protect Israelis from the notorious terror group.

It is believed that the storm occurred last Thursday, December 1, at around 8am.
Biblical Pillar of Cloud Protects Israel From ISIS Over Golan Heights
For the first time, ISIS and the Israeli Defense Forces have exchanged fire. The events took place in the southern Golan Heights. Some would suggest God joined the activities, fire and brimstone withheld for now.
"THE PROPHET OF GOD DAVID OWUOR, ANNOUNCED THE COMING OF THE ANCIENT CLOUD OF GOD TO THE EARTH AGAIN"
The video, posted on Thursday by Israel News Online, shows what appears to be an enormous pillar of cloud, dust and rain hovering over the dangerous border between Israel and Syria – in the very same area where ISIS militants had attacked IDF forces for the first time four days earlier.

Most incredibly, the mysterious cloud ended precisely at the border without entering Israel’s Golan Heights region, seeming to afflict the Syrian side while not harming Israel.

“This strange storm of what appears to be dust, cloud and rain did NOT cross the border fence into Israel. It sat like a barrier between ISIS and Israel,”

A massive storm captured on video hovering over Syria's border with Israel where Islamic State militants had attacked Israeli Defense Forces four days earlier is being hailed as a miracle by many, but some Christian scholars suggest it's best not to read too much into the weather phenomenon.

"This strange storm of what appears to be dust, cloud and rain did NOT cross the border fence into Israel. It sat like a barrier between ISIS and Israel," the Facebook post read.

The video has already been viewed nearly 7 million times and shared 200,000 times, with many hailing it as evidence that God was protecting Israel.

"God is in control of all things, and so of that storm too," said Gerald McDermott, Anglican
chair of divinity at Samford University's Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama, in an interview with The Christian Post on Tuesday.

"Certainly it was prevented from damaging Israel, and for that we have God to thank," he said, when asked if he thought it was possible that God was behind the storm.

"But ISIS is not deterred, and will not be deterred. We need to pray that God gives Israel, the United States, and their allies prudence to destroy ISIS, which is an evil force of murder and hatred."

Massive Atlantic wave sets record, says World Meteorological Organization
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38312935" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
14 December 2016

Image

The highest-ever wave detected by a buoy has been recorded in the North Atlantic ocean, the World Meteorological Organization has said.

The 19-metre (62.3ft) wave happened between Iceland and the United Kingdom, off the Outer Hebrides.

It was created in the aftermath of a very strong cold front with 43.8 knot (50.4mph) winds on 4 February 2013.

The WMO, which released the data, said the previous record was 18.275 metres (59.96ft) in December 2007.

That wave was also in the North Atlantic.

It is not the biggest-ever recorded wave, however. In 2002 a ship spotted a 29-metre (95 ft) North Atlantic wave.

In 2014, the M4 Donegal buoy recorded a 23.4 metre wave, but the WMO said the new record was based on "significant wave height" which required certain measuring methods and observing periods.

The buoy is part of the UK Met Office's network of Marine Automatic Weather Stations. Known as K5, it sits in the North Atlantic off the Western Isles

The buoys complement ship-based measurements and satellite observations, which monitor the oceans and forecast meteorological hazards on the high seas.

Melting Glacier in Antarctica Could Raise Sea Levels By 11 Feet

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/photos ... by-11-feet" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Earth’s climate, it seems, isn’t listening to the politicians that are insisting it’s not warming. The temperature continues to rise incrementally, and the globe’s large glaciers—giant vaults of stored water—continue to melt, releasing into the oceans. The global sea level, due to thermal expansion and glacial melting, continues to rise, building up a head of steam like a train just beginning its descent down a steep hill.

Greenland’s hulking glacier and the Arctic Sea ice are now marked by their rapid melting. And the western Antarctic ice sheet has garnered a lot of attention recently, too. But while scientists were fretting over the western side of Antarctica, the eastern Antarctic ice sheet has been melting too. Australian researchers braved treacherous sea conditions to collect data on the melting Totten Ice Shelf there, which holds up a body of ice that would cause over 11 feet of sea level rise, if it melted. Their findings are published in the journal Science Advances.

Scientists have concluded that ice shelves and glaciers in eastern Antarctica have been experiencing basal melt, where the bottom layer of a body of ice starts to melt away, but they’ve never directly observed how it’s happening and what the main drivers of melting are until now.

In Antarctica, the ice sheets covering the continent are so large that they extend beyond the land’s edge. Picture a pool cover that’s only covering half of an in-ground pool. Part of it lays on the patio nearby, and the rest of it slopes downward onto the water’s surface where it floats. Where the glacier hits the water is a buttress of ice called a shelf, which keeps the land bound ice from draining into the sea. If the shelf melts then—well, you get the idea. Such is the Totten Ice Shelf.

About 2,000 feet down, the team found a great trough—about 6 miles wide—worn into the side of the Totten shelf. Below 2,000 feet the gaping cavity narrows into two channels, and warm water flows through it, boring through the ice like sugar through the enamel of a tooth. The ice shelf, they measured, is melting at its base faster than all other ice shelves of similar size in East Antarctica. If it were to give way, enough ice would slide into the sea to raise global levels by over 11 feet.

Weather buoy near North Pole hits melting point
By Jason Samenow December 22
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/cap ... ing-point/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

A weather buoy about 90 miles south of the North Pole registered a temperature at the melting point of 32 degrees (0 Celsius) early Thursday, as a giant storm east of Greenland drew abnormally warm air northward.

Weather models had predicted temperatures could get this warm and this buoy, part of the North Pole Environmental Observatory, provides validation.

The entire Arctic north of 80 degrees, roughly the size of the Lower 48 states, has witnessed a sharp temperature spike reaching levels 30-35 degrees (nearly 20 Celsius) above normal. In reviewing historical records back to 1958, one cannot find a more intense anomaly – except following a similar spike just five weeks ago.

Image

Consider the average temperature in this large region is about minus-20 degrees (minus-29 Celsius) at this time of year, but had shot up to 12 Thursday.

Labe said the huge flux of warmth into the region may have contributed to the loss of sea ice at a time when the region is usually gaining ice.

Dare I say that the reason California is getting all this extreme weather, from the drought of the past couple years to now the flooding, is a judgement towards the people there?! They are calling it 'biblical' so that means they must believe in God and His laws.
Every 200 years California suffers a storm of biblical proportions — this year’s rains are just a precursor
The last freak rainstorm turned the Central Valley into a lake, and we’re due for another one
by Rachel Becker Feb 21, 2017, 11:15am EST
Image

A series of storms have inundated California over the past few weeks, and the latest deluge is currently swelling rivers and reservoirs that are already spilling over. Vast swathes of California continue to be at risk for flooding as the storm runoff makes its way through river systems, the National Weather Service warns. Across California, residents were evacuated when local rivers flooded, including a small Northern California town that experienced a levee breach Monday night.

"“So it appears that California may be due for another episode soon.”"

The severe flooding may feel like a whiplash development in a state that’s been locked in drought for five years — and in an “exceptional drought” for three of them. Still, California has seen worse: massive floods have swept through the state about every 200 years for the past 2,000 years or more, climate scientists Michael Dettinger and Lynn Ingram recount in a 2013 article.

The most recent was a series of storms that lasted for a near-biblical 43 days between 1861 and 1862, creating a vast lake where California’s Central Valley had been. Floodwaters drowned thousands of people, hundreds of thousands of cattle, and forced the state’s government to move from Sacramento to San Francisco.

More than 150 years have passed since California’s last, great flood — and a team of researchers with the US Geological Survey have predicted what kind of damage a similar flood would cause today. Their simulation, called the ARkStorm, anticipates that a stretch of the Central Valley 300 miles long by 20 miles wide would be underwater. Cities up and down the coast of California would flood. Winds would howl 60 to 125 miles per hour, and landslides would make roads impassable.

Though the impact has been extensive, Marty Ralph, the director of the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes at the University of California, San Diego, doesn’t think that this latest storm is this century’s equivalent to the 1861–1862 floods. “They are the same type,” Ralph says. “But I don’t think that they’re the magnitude that that ARkStorm predicted.”

Image
"“It’s about the equivalent of 20 Mississippi Rivers’ worth of water.”"

Both storms, Ralph says, are the result of an atmospheric river, first identified in 1998. An atmospheric river is a massive ribbon of water vapor that flows off the Pacific Ocean and combines with strong, low-altitude winds. They stretch about 250 to 375 miles across, but can reach from 1,000 to more than 2,000 miles in length. “It’s about the equivalent of 20 Mississippi Rivers’ worth of water, but it’s in the form of water vapor rather than liquid,” Ralph says. When it hits the coastal mountains, the stream of warm, wet air is forced upward, where it cools and condenses into massive rain clouds.

“It’s definitely a very unusually very wet year for us,” Ralph says, but he doesn’t think that it’s an ARkStorm type year. “Now that’s not to say that couldn’t happen, which would be highly tragic.”
