Well God himself warned us about conspiring men relating to the food industry...
“Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation.” (D&C 89:4; ...

Re: Which conspiracy theories do you think are real?
I note that President Benson stated in the October General Conference that "Secret combinations lusting for power, gain and glory are flourishing." That tells me that there are multiple conspiracies working against our freedoms.
But he followed that statement with "A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world." That causes me to believe that there is only one conspiracy to gain control of the entire world.
I find it a bit hard to explain the difference, although I think I understand it.

It occurs to me again just now that there are a lot of people who simply cannot cope with participating in any discussion of these things. Some folks of my acquaintance no longer try to talk about these things with their spouses or their sons and daughters.

It's all too horrible to face, so they just keep their head in the ground; ignore it all.

I noted today that President Nelson said he was optimistic - I forget about what. And President said the same thing more than once "I am an optimist". And yet I believe they know as least as much about our "awful situation" as the Lord wants them to know. I can only guess they were/are trying to avoid causing a panic.

Cain was the first on this world, and set the pattern. That thru the shedding of innocent blood, that he could get gain.
The US's military industrial complex is a large part of the over arching conspiracy.
I think many people take part in and strengthen the larger secret combination thru their own smaller secret combinations - bribes, sweetheart deals, socialist welfare schemes, corporate welfare, (both of which are propped up to help politicians stay in office). As God can coordinate His work, so also can the devil, and it is pretty certain that anyone who is seeking to get gain at the expense of another, or with disregard for the life and value of his fellow brothers and sisters is to some degree upholding those secret combinations.

Re: Which conspiracy theories do you think are real?
I can be pretty pessimistic about my own life, and I absolutely believe that persecution unknown since the early days of the restored church is coming soon to be followed by a total socioeconomic collapse. But I am optimistic about these events.lundbaek wrote: ↑January 16th, 2018, 9:04 pm I noted today that President Nelson said he was optimistic - I forget about what. I feel optimism about the persecution. It will strengthen the faithful and cause the wolves in sheep's clothing to leave the church - making the entire body of church membership stronger. I'm optimistic about the really bad things that have been prophesied because they will bring us so much closer to God and will humble the remaining population to the point where we will have unimaginable missionary success.
Yes, I've come across some tremendous pessimists in the church, people who are absolutely convinced that at any day they will no longer be able to buy food in the grocery stores and anxiety leads them to tremendous misery. But I see plenty to be optimistic about with what's been prophesied.

Maybe pessimism isn't the correct word, but as I read D&C 45:28-31, D&C 84:58, D&C 97:21-23, D&C 112:24-26, and Isaiah 28:18 it appears to me that those scriptures foretell of some things we should be hopeful and optimistic about surviving.

That's not a conspiracy theory, that's just the damned democratic platform and the moronic, *bad-word*, evil, *bad-word*, *bad-word*, *REALLY bad-word* entertainment industry.Gaz wrote: ↑April 15th, 2009, 12:13 pm My favorites weren't listed.
I believe there are socialists in the country who are determined to continue to erode our capitalist foundations to redistribute wealth to the poor and lazy (both individuals and companies), whose votes they buy with all the various forms of welfare (individual and corporate).
And most teachers.

I do too, although in a more pessimistic kind of way: I'm optimistic that I'm old enough I won't have to stay around for too much longer of it. I miss t he country I grew up in. I miss the society I learned about. I guess I'm also optimistic because I'm now in a little Podunk nowhereville Utah mountain town where most of those old ways are still practiced.

The thing that so many don't seem to understand about the 9/11 event, is that it was a criminal conspiracy, regardless of who was behind or involved in it.
And casting it as a "government conspiracy" is too restrictive and therefore inaccurate. Were elements of government involved in planning and pulling it off, and in the subsequent coverup? Of course, but that doesn't mean it was a "government conspiracy". Way too black-and-white.

It's amazing what's going on in our country. We need to pray that the Lord can clean up our country. There's so much damage that's going in opposite of our goal to prepare for the Savior's return. We need a cleanup. And if it doesn't start soon we might not ever be ready.

Re: Which conspiracy theories do you think are real?
Yes,"We need to pray that the Lord can clean up our country". But we also need to work toward that ourselves. Prophets and apostles warned us for decades about the "awful situation" we were heading into and advised us how to avoid it, and most American Latter-day Saints did not respond as advised. I have long believed that if the Latter-day Saints, especially the American LDSs had complied, the Lord would have helped us out. Now, the Church authorities are not even saying much of anything on the subject, for reason I have stated elsewhere on this forum.

Re: Which conspiracy theories do you think are real?
911 is no conspiracy theory but conspiracy fact. The laws of physics are incontrovertible. The visual proof of WTC7 and all the circumstantial evidence and cover-up all prove the conspiracy. Remember that Mueller was in charge of 911 investigation and guilty of obstruction.
911 is enough all on its own. Once you realize that there are people, sick enough, and powerful enough to pull off such a monstrous production like 911, anything is possible.
Our situation is like the Tower of Babel. God is probably saying, "now nothing can be restrained from them (the conspiracy), which they have imagined to do". Meaning, if the global conspiracy can get the people to build this tower, and convince them that it is in actuality a stargate/bridge into heaven, then they can do to the people and convince the people of anything.
I think with the tower of Babel, it was a nifty way to control population, you just tell people its a gateway into heaven, and who wants to go. Then they pay you for the trip, and you kill them at the top and dispose of the body and tell the family that they are now happy and in heaven and who wants to go next.

I can't think of one conspiracy, out of all that I believe, where everyone in the government agreed to it and its cover-up in all ways.larsenb wrote: ↑January 19th, 2018, 1:57 pm The thing that so many don't seem to understand about the 9/11 event, is that it was a criminal conspiracy, regardless of who was behind or involved in it.

I'm very aware of the greed for money and power that exists in these days. It's just that those particular conspiracy theories that were mentioned, when I honestly looked at them, I did not see that any of them were actual conspiracies. Well-meaning humans, humans out for money or power, yes - but not actual conspiracies where people have purposely organized a plan to do these things for the purpose of gaining power. I do believe there is a conspiracy to remove our freedoms. I do believe there is a conspiracy to destroy humankind. I think the author of that is Satan, even though it is probably formally organized. I believe the things on the list mentioned are conspired by Satan, but not necessarily by men over years and over generations planning to do those things in order to enslave people.David13 wrote: ↑January 16th, 2018, 6:00 pm I remarked that she would be naive if she was unaware of the financial interest in it all. The evil is just a side effect, part of the negligence of it.

I think there is at least one conspiracy to gain control over the entire world, but I also think there are others likewise conspiring to do so (like Korea, like ISIS) - and I think that the god of all these people is the devil and, like Jesus said in the Bible, they will fall because a house divided against itself cannot stand. They will war among themselves, as prophesied.

Yes. Let me refer you to the thread about the pink hats. There is some real good stuff there on our awful situation. There is an infowars video there where the real issue is defined as a lot of people going along with someone, without even knowing what it is, and a definition of it as a "spiritual problem".Silver Pie wrote: ↑January 23rd, 2018, 3:13 pmI'm very aware of the greed for money and power that exists in these days. I agree with that 100%. Yes, I think they answer 100% to Satan, but then there are those naive, unaware people, in the women's march mostly women, who just empty headedly follow along, not even knowing why, or what it is they are following along with, or that it is 100% evil.

I wonder if it's because such things have fallen out of favor in the Church (no longer is it preached, and I don't think it has been since Benson's last talk warning about it - or - if it is because it is an uncomfortable thing to think about (or something else).lundbaek wrote: ↑January 16th, 2018, 8:43 pm It occurs to me again just now that there are a lot of people who simply cannot cope with participating in any discussion of these things. I am sure that causing a panic is the last thing they would want to do.
On the other hand, I think people should be warned so that the calamities will not take them unawares.

I hope so. I hope it turns out that easy for us.
But on the other hand we may be destroyed in the process, all that we have loved may be destroyed in the process. Our
country, our religion, the Temples and meeting houses, etc.
As I see it, the situation just keeps getting worse and worse. See the thread (pink hats) on the "women's march" about last Saturday.
