Re: EARTHQUAKES!
A strong new earthquake has shaken Mexico, toppling already damaged homes and a highway bridge and causing new alarm in a country reeling from two even more powerful quakes this month that together have killed nearly 400 people.
The US Geological Survey said the new, magnitude 6.1 temblor was centred about in the state of Oaxaca, which was the region most battered by a magnitude 8.1 quake on September 7.
It was among thousands of aftershocks recorded in the wake of that earlier quake, which was the most powerful to hit Mexico in 32 years and killed at least 90 people.
US Geological Survey geophysicist Paul Caruso said the new temblor was an aftershock of the 8.1 quake, and after a jolt of that size even buildings left standing can be more vulnerable.
Buildings swayed in Mexico City, where nerves are still raw from Tuesday's magnitude 7.1 temblor that has killed at least 305 across the region. Many residents and visitors fled homes, hotels and businesses, some in tears.
At the Xoco General Hospital, which is treating the largest number of quake victims, workers ordered visitors to evacuate when seismic alarms began to blare.

A magnitude 5.9 has earthquake struck off Mexico's west coast, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre says.
The epicentre of the quake was 99 km south-southwest of Tonala, in Chiapas state.
South of Mexico City, the Popocatepetl volcano sent a column of ash into the sky, capping a period of seismic activity that has killed more than 400 people and caused damages of up to $US8 billion ($A10 billion).

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
I live in Southern Utah, and the local police department just announced an earthquake preparation information meeting. Seems wise. We are right over the fault. I don't know what will happen but I feel peace, thinking back to that rainbow the day before the cloudy eclipse.
Today we had a farewell for two young missionaries, about to preach in Nevada and Mexico. Both are places experiencing quaking, but I guess at this point it's hard to hit a place on the map that doesn't have at least a little quaking. Still, I can't imagine being their mothers, getting ready to send them away during such a time as this. So much faith!

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A powerful magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit the region along the border between Iran and Iraq on Sunday, killing at least 61 people and injuring 300 in Iran, an Iranian official said.
Iranian state TV said Iraqi officials had reported six deaths and 200 injuries inside Iraq, though there was no official comment from Iraq's government.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered 19 miles (31 kilometers) outside the eastern Iraqi city of Halabja.
The Islamic Republic of Iran News Network quoted the head of the country's emergency medical services, Pirhossein Koulivand, as saying early Monday that at least 61 had been killed and 300 injured on Iran's side of the border.
Iranian state TV also said Iraqi officials reported at least six people dead inside Iraq, along with more than 50 people injured in Sulaymaniyah province and about 150 in Khanaquin city. No reports were immediately available from Iraq's government.
Koulivand earlier told a local television station that the earthquake knocked out electricity in Iran's western cities of Mehran and Ilam. He also said 35 rescue teams were providing assistance.
Iranian social media was abuzz Sunday night with posts of people evacuating their homes, particularly in Kermanshah and Ghasr-e Shirin.
The semi-official Iranian ILNA news agency said at least 14 provinces in Iran had been affected by the earthquake.
Officials announced that schools in Kermanshah and Ilam provinces would be closed Monday because of the tremor.
Iran sits on many major fault lines and is prone to near-daily quakes. In 2003, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake flattened the historic city of Bam, killing 26,000 people.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
Yesterday, my wife and I served in the KC LDS Temple. Awesome, as usual.
We have a practice of openly the scriptures "at random" and reading what our eyes light upon. I opened to the index, E, and there Lezlee and I both pointed to the topic "Earthquakes", and the prophecies about "earthquakes in diverse places" in the last days.
I've been thinking a lot lately about an observation I stumbled on in my little home-lab experiments. LED lights with zero power draw registered on my power-meter. Fun, really I don't understand how it works or why it varies so much. Later - ciao!

LED lights with zero power draw registered on my power-meter.
I have wondered if space based technology isn't creating enough electromagnetic energy to literally amp the atmosphere with 'hot spots'.
I wonder if you would get the same 'readings' at the same time of day or if there might be fluctuations.
When we were witness to atmospheric testing here in ND during the summer of 2002, NASA put a magnetometer at Sitting Bull College as some silly PR stunt to 'help Indian youngsters feel important'. I suspect it was put there to measure the EMF of what was being tested.
In November 2002, my husband & I arrived home from the Temple around 10:15PM to discover what appeared to be a green 'neon' tipi directly over our farmstead; it was like the Norway spiral only much smaller and compact. There was a small earthquake about 100 miles SE of us about the same time.

Latest: Fire chief praises calm reaction after Alaska quake
Associated Press•January 23, 2018
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The Latest on an Alaska earthquake that prompted a tsunami warning for coastal Alaska, Canada's British Columbia and the West Coast of the U.S. (all times local):
4 a.m.
The fire chief of a popular Alaska cruise ship port city says there was no panic as residents reacted to a tsunami warning triggered by an earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska.
Seward fire chief Eddie Athey praised his community for doing "the right thing" early Tuesday, calling it "a controlled evacuation" as people left for higher ground or drove along the only road out of the city.
Athey says the quake was gentle, and that it "felt like the washer was off balance." He says he knows of no damage in the community 110 miles (180 kilometers) southeast of Anchorage.
He says the quake went on for up to 90 seconds — long enough that he thought "Boy, I hope this stops soon because it's just getting worse."

3:10 a.m.
The National Tsunami Center has canceled a tsunami warning that was triggered by a powerful earthquake off the coast of Alaska.
Mickey Varnadao, a computer specialist with the warning center in Palmer, Alaska, said early Tuesday that an advisory remains in effect for parts of Alaska, from Kodiak Island to Prince William Sound.
Watches have been canceled for British Columbia in Canada, Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii. Officials in Japan say there is no tsunami threat there.
Varnadao says the agency canceled the alert after waves failed to show up in coastal Alaska communities.
The earthquake was recorded about 12:30 a.m. about 170 miles (270 kilometers) southeast of Kodiak Island in the Gulf of Alaska. It had a preliminary magnitude of 8.2 but has been downgraded to magnitude 7.9.

2:45 a.m.
Larry LeDoux, superintendent of the Kodiak Island Borough School District, says schools were open as shelters and estimated there were about 500 people at the high school.
He described the atmosphere inside as calm, with people waiting for any updates.
He said sirens go off in the community every week, as a test to make sure they are working. He said the sirens were sounded for the early Tuesday tsunami warning.
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.2 struck early Tuesday about 175 miles southeast of Kodiak Island.
A tsunami warning was issued for a large swath of coastal Alaska and Canada's British Columbia while the remainder of the U.S. West Coast was under a watch.

The city of Kodiak, Alaska, was projected to see the first wave at about 1:45 a.m., about an hour after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.2 prompted a tsunami warning.
About a half hour later, Lt. Tim Putney of the Kodiak Police Department said there had been no reports of a wave and nothing had been seen, yet.
However, officials were telling people to hold fast at evacuation centers until further notice. He said the town has several shelters above the 100-foot mark, and they were still encouraging people below that level to evacuate.
The earthquake woke Putney up out of a dead sleep, and he estimates it shook for at least 30 seconds.
The police had not received any reports of damage.
The Alaska Earthquake Information Center said the quake was felt widely in several communities on the Kenai Peninsula and throughout southern Alaska, but it also had no immediate reports of damage.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
Something Shocking Happened in Florida After the Alaska Earthquake: Well Water Levels Changed
By Chris Dolce 20 hours ago weather.com
After Tuesday's earthquake off of Alaska, some water levels in Florida went up, more than 3000 miles away.
Water levels in Florida wells changed briefly after Tuesday's earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska. Seismic waves traveling through the earth often cause groundwater changes after earthquakes.
Tuesday's 7.9 magnitude earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska sent vibrations through the earth that caused water to rise and fall in wells in Florida, thousands of miles away.
Sensors near Fort Lauderdale and Madison, near the Georgia border, showed a minor change in water levels after the earthquake, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The blue line is the time of the Gulf of Alaska earthquake Tuesday. You can see the small water displacement in both wells a short time later as indicated by the sharp upward motion of the red line (well near Madison) and the downward plunge in the black line (well near Ft. Lauderdale).
A water level rise from 41.59 feet to 41.77 feet was recorded at the well near Madison before it returned to normal. At the well near Fort Lauderdale, the water level fell from 1.42 feet to 1.31 feet.
Why did water levels in these wells some 3,800 miles away from the earthquake's epicenter change?
Vibrations that move through the earth called seismic waves are the culprit. Seismic waves are depicted by the upward and downward lines on seismographs used to detect earthquakes around the world.
"Water levels in wells respond to the seismic-wave induced expansion and contraction of the aquifer tapped by the well, in turn causing step or oscillatory fluid-pressure changes," the USGS says.
The changes in groundwater levels are often seen hundreds, or even thousands, of miles away from an earthquake's epicenter.
After an 8.5 magnitude earthquake near Alaska in 1964 water level changes were reported at 716 wells in the United States, according to the USGS.
Occasionally, changes can be extreme.
A 5.2 magnitude northwest Pennsylvania temblor in 1998 rendered dry about 120 wells for local homes for about three months.
The Denali, Alaska, 7.9 magnitude earthquake of 2002 caused a well in Wisconsin to rise 2 feet.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
Yesterday we had a 4.4 Earthquake here in Wales. The depth was only 7km down which is considered shallow. Its the first in the UK for 10 years and the Biggest in Wales for 100 years.
Earthquakes in "Divers Places" has come to little old Wales!!

I would like for someone with more scientific training than I possess to comment on this article's basis for linking the Kilauea eruption and the 12,000 earthquakes in the past 30-days with geo-thermal fracking by the Puna Geothermal Venture Plant on the volcano itself.
https://www.globalresearch.ca/did-frack ... on/5643413
There's also an interesting link citing Harry Reid's involvement with the corporate entity, Ormat Technologies which acquired the Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) Plant.

There's also an interesting link citing Harry Reid's involvement with the corporate entity, Ormat Technologies which acquired the Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) Plant.
Who owns PGV? Ormat Technologies. Through internal merger and stock swapping, Ormat appears to be a jointly owned Israeli and US company now.
...It seems the [Harry] Reid helped the green energy company, Ormat Technologies, a firm that owns and manages geothermal plants in California and Hawaii, secure nearly $136 million in economic stimulus funding from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.”
“Two former employees are suing the firm, claiming Ormat executives defrauded the United States of more than $130 million by reporting false information about two projects to get government grants, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.”
“Reid’s ties to Ormat are deep. The company runs geothermal plants in Nevada and Reid has been a big booster of the company in D.C. As reported in the Free Beacon, ‘Reid bragged about securing Ormat a $350 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy (DOE) and took credit for expanding the Treasury program that the former employees say illicitly provided Ormat with millions more in taxpayer funds’.”
“It is also worth noting that Ormat’s DOE award came a year after investors sued the company for allegedly inflating its stock price through ‘fraudulent accounting and overstated financial results.’ Ormat settled the allegations in 2012 for $3.1 million.”

AccuWeather•August 18, 2018
A powerful 8.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the islands of Fiji and Tonga on Sunday morning local time, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The powerful tremor struck off Ndoi Island, Fiji. However there is no tsunami threat from the earthquake because it was too deep. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said some small, non-hazardous tsunami waves had been observed.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 559.6 km, according to the USGS. It was initially reported as a magnitude 7.9.

Earth's magnetic field has connected to IMF from the southern coronal hole. These increasingly-powerful connections (as the solar polar fields surge in power) is the cause of the earthquake alerts.

Re: EARTHQUAKES!
I saw the same quake = HUGE, but hopefully not destructive. Here's the cnn report:
quote: CNN)A massive 8.2 magnitude earthquake struck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, roughly 200 miles off Fiji and almost the same distance from Tonga, according to the preliminary report from the US Geological Survey.
The earthquake struck just after midday Sunday and was almost 560 kilometers deep, the USGS said.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said based on the data available, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami was not expected, and there was no threat to Hawaii.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

I don’t know if this has been shared about suspicious observers. It’s a group of scientists who research space weather and how it effects our earth.
