Even though Brian created this forum with an eye toward promoting awareness and understanding of the U.S. Constitution, its principles, and the danger of our losing yet more of the protections of our freedom/liberty, it seems that many folks are not concerned in the least about these things. I know that the Constitution, Freedom/Liberty, etc. are not prophetic priorities now. Some of you may believe it is too late to save the Constitution. Others may have concern that some discussion of this topic might "divide the Church" and give rise to "contention". OK, fair enuf. But I'm concerned about those who show no interest in protecting and maintaining the freedoms/liberties we still have and restoring those we have lost.

The first three of the following statements concerning the US Constitution were given by the Lord Jesus Christ to the Prophet, Joseph Smith, and are recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants . The following seven statements are among the many made by Presidents of the Church during times when they were serving as President of the Church. Following those statements is a paragraph from the Church publication "Principles of the Gospel". And lastly are two statements which were included in a letter to a Mr. Fitzgibbon at the United States Treasury, signed on 11 October 1941 by the First Presidency of the Church. Please let us know how you feel about getting involved in the freedom battle we are now in.

D&C 98: 4-7
4 And now, verily I say unto you concerning the laws of the land, it is my will that my people should observe to do all things whatsoever I command them.
5 And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me.
6 Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land;
7 And as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less than this, cometh of evil.

D&C 101: 77, 80
77 According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;
80 And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood.

D&C 109:54
54 Have mercy, O Lord, upon all the of the earth; have mercy upon the rulers of our land; may those principles, which were so honorably and nobly defended, namely, the Constitution of our land, by our fathers, be established forever.

"[The Church’s] members are under divine commandments to revere the Constitution as a heaven-inspired instrument." (President Wilford Woodruff, December 12, 1889, Messages of the First Presidency)

"Next to being one in worshiping God, there is nothing in this world upon which this Church should be more united than in upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States," (President David O. McKay, February 1956, The Instructor, 91:34)

"[Above] all else, strive to support good and conscientious candidates of either party who are aware of the great dangers inherent in communism, and who are truly dedicated to the Constitution in the tradition of our founding fathers."
(President David O. McKay, October 1962 General Conference)

"We therefore commend and encourage every person and every group who is sincerely seeking to study Constitutional principles and awaken a sleeping and apathetic people to the alarming conditions that are rapidly advancing about us."
(David O. McKay, April 1966 General Conference)

"We urge members of the Church and all Americans to begin now to reflect more intently on the meaning and importance of the Constitution, and of adherence to its principles.
(President Harold B. Lee, November 1973, The First Presidency Statement on the Constitution, The Ensign)

We encourage Latter-day Saints throughout the nation to familiarize themselves with the Constitution. They should focus attention on it by reading and studying it. They should ponder the blessings that come through it. They should recommit themselves to its principles and be prepared to defend it and the freedom it provides. (D&C 109:54.) . We believe the Constitution will stand, but it will take the efforts of patriotic and dedicated Americans to uphold it. . . . We, as Latter-day Saints, must be vigilant in doing our part to preserve the Constitution and safeguard the way of life it makes possible. (From a First Presidency statement in January 1987)

"First and foremost, we must learn the principles of the Constitution in the tradition of the Founding Fathers." (President Ezra Taft Benson, October 1987 General Conference)

"During a period in Church history when many Latter-day Saints were being denied the protection of the Constitution, Joseph Smith wrote: "The Constitution of the United States is a glorious standard; it is founded in the wisdom of God. It is a heavenly banner."......The men who framed the Constitution were directed by the Spirit of the Lord in establishing the basic freedoms guaranteed the citizens of this country....Unless we members of the Church do all we can to preserve the freedoms we have, within the bounds of the laws of God, we will be held accountable." ..."The Constitution was established through the inspiration of God to preserve the liberty of the people and to maintain his promise." (Principles of the Gospel, Page 135-136, Page 146-147, Published by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1991)

"In the first place, we should tell you that it is a part of the doctrine of the Latter-day Saints, as much a part as any other tenet of their religion, that the Lord Himself "established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood", and that this Constitution "should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles."
"Our people believe that they have a special relationship to the Constitution and its preservation."
"....but this much we feel we can definitely say, that unless the people of America forsake the sins and the errors, political and otherwise, of which they are now guilty and return to the practice of the great fundamental principles of Christianity, and ofConstitutional government, there will be no exaltation for them spiritually, and politically we shall lose our liberty and free institutions." (From a letter to the United States Treasury, signed on 11 October 1941 by the First Presidency of the Church, Presidents Heber J. Grant, J. Reuben Clark, and David O. McKay).

Read the linked report regarding how 'federal agencies' did their dirtiest best to trip up the Bundy Family whilst mocking "Mormons" and creating an environment directed at a violent outcome.

https://theintercept.com/2017/12/22/cli ... ndoff-fbi/

We had best get on top of what our RIGHTS are, learn how to legally protect them while being constantly worthy of The Holy Spirit's guidance and intervention.

We are in grave danger, Brothers & Sisters!!!

Agreed! I firmly believe that the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th amendments are under attack, sometimes subtly and sometimes not so subtly. Bringing these kinds of things up at church seems to offend some members and I don't really understand why. A lot of members, and I'm thinking of other elders quorum aged men are very apathetic towards these issues.

What should we be doing? President Benson gave a great talk with lots of suggestions:

http://scriptures.byu.edu/gettalk.php?ID=1165

Here's something else I think everyone should read: http://www.jrnyquist.com/is-putin-a-communist.html

I'm wondering if rather than focusing so much on calling the bad guys globalists, we should be calling them socialist-communists. The conspiracy never died, but they realized they would have to do things more subtly.

I appreciate your efforts to bring this critical information to the members of the Church and can relate with the frustration you may feel at times. I have been doing what I can to support the Constitution for many years and noticed that in recent years, there seems to be much more of an awakening among the non-LDS people than within the Church. It wasn't until shortly after I returned from a LDS mission to England 1n 1969 that I became aware of some of the political forces pushing our country toward socialism and I resolved to get involved in opposing all things unconstitutional.

Over the course of the past 50 years, I have tried to keep myself informed about the background of current events and became aware of the political strategy of the banking elites when I joined the JBS in 1972 and read None Dare Call It Conspiracy (along with a host of other well documented books). I bought a whole case (48) of them and gave them to church members after Sacrament Meeting at the Denver 1st Ward one evening. To my knowledge, not one person read the book. I have written countless letters to my senators and congressmen over the years regarding the constitutionality of pending legislation and found that 95% of their responses were just form letters written by aides. I have read many books and magazines documenting how our country has been infiltrated by unscrupulous rascals whose goal is to transform America into a Socialist unit that can be comfortably merged into a world government. I participated in townhall meetings and voiced my opinions to governmental representatives with very limited success in persuading them to choose Constitutional solutions. I have talked to my neighbors, friends, coworkers, and fellow church members about the awful situation we are facing and most have just glazed over their eyes and changed the subject. My wife and I have twice been delegates to the GOP State Conventions in Louisiana (2008 & 2012) only to see unethical, dirty last minute rule changes used to override grass root choices (Ron Paul or Huckaby) from being selected.

The advent of the internet has been a great blessing in order to be better informed, but you must critically evaluate the information and look for corroborating evidence for much of the information you see. Although there are many more people awake now than when I first had my eyes opened, I don't think we have nearly enough numbers to defeat the Deep State/ globalist forces, but we must never give up trying.

Don't give up.

Remember that if you stand alone on principle and with God, you are on the side you should be and don;t despair that no one "seems" to hear your message. And more are hearing than you know.

I'm not ex- military but Semper Fi! seems appropriate...

I find comfort in Isaiah 10 and a clearer translation in 2Nephi 20. Also, use the footnote feature.

https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/2-ne/20?lang=eng

Isaiah's description of 'the Assyrian' is nothing less than a perfect description of the Secret Combination doing its best to control, itemize and extort value from all of Earth's natural and human resources.

I have to wonder, too, if the United States could also be the 'hypocritical nation' mentioned in verse 6.

Verse 22 tells us that 'Righteousness' will overflow the 'consumption' decreed. I think Righteousness is how we resist 'the Assyrian'.

My feeling is that we are much too close to a final resolution of the whole problem of secret combinations to worrie about political solutions to the same. Ezra Taft Benson said:

“if the gentiles on this land reject the word of God and conspire to overthrow liberty and the Constitution, then their doom is fixed, and they ". . . shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant". (1 Nephi 14:6; 3 Nephi 21:11, 14, 21; D&C 84:114-115, 117)

If what has been going on with Obama, the deep state and the swamp doing all they can to eliminate borders, destroy our soverenty and overturn the peoples choice for President etc doesn’t ammount to “conspire(ing) to overthrow liberty and the Constution” I don’t know what does…

In my oppinion we are so very, very close to seeing the “gentiles… be(ing) cut off from among my people who are of the covenant” and the coming of the Bridegroom that we are better off shopping for trekking shoes and preparing for life in The New Jerusalem than argueing with the wicked…

Sure hope you are right about seeing an end to the wickedness of our 'governing authorities'.

I stopped calling and writing to representatives several years ago. Curiously, the form letters I was receiving from our DC reps were nearly identical to those received by people I corresponded with in other states who were contacting their representatives. Some agency must supply specific responses to our elected officials' 'aides'.

I find myself looking forward to and wishing for the cleansing of America. And I think those are uncharitable thoughts on my part. It's wishing harm on a lot of people. I just hope the calamities are selective on who they take.

Fortunately, there is life after death. Even if the calamities kill millions of innocent victims, it is not the end for them. There were infants killed in the flood that floated Noah's boat.

Before our journey's through,
Happy day.
All is well."

Here's an in depth discussion about how 'the press' has served to hide corruption in - not only in government to which we supposedly have input - but in the Justice Department and the alphabet agencies which are tasked to insure Rule of Law and criminal investigation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHGKDJfPfaY

Jason Goodman interviews Jared Beck. The Bundy case is mentioned around 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the East Coast 'resistance' to corrupt government is wholly ignorant of what is happening to landowners/farmers/ranchers in the West.

I have found myself lately praying for three things:

The safe release of the Bundy political prisoners.
The destruction of the Gadianton robbers.
The general repentance of Americans. (I think item is in vain.)

I pray for help in making Latter-day Saints aware of their divinely mandated responsibilities (doctrinal imperative) to study, uphold and abide by the principles of the US Constitution in the tradition of the Founding Fathers, or as the Founders meant it to be understood, and to understand and support the proper role of government according to gospel principles.

Here's the memo from a BLM Special Agent overseeing the Bundy Ranch investigation who 'blew the whistle' on the preplanned military action against the Bundy Family. This document is most likely responsible for the judge calling a mistrial and again leaving the whole thing open to another trial on the same charges.

The memo should have had charges against the Bundy's dismissed, and all these BLM agents serving as witnesses against the Bundy's, arrested and tried along with the US Attorney serving as prosecutor.

It will be interesting to see how the appointment of Dayle Elieson as interim U.S. attorney for Nevada will impact the next installment of the Bundy Trial. I hope she takes a close look at the conduct of the now acting Prosecutor, Steven Myhre who has proven his personal bias in every way possible.

https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime/cou ... or-nevada/

Elieson has prosecuted cases at both the state and federal levels, having served as an assistant district attorney for Dallas County and Denton County, Texas, and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

“Dayle Elieson has served this Department for more than 15 years and has prosecuted criminals for more than 20 years,” Sessions said in the statement. “At the federal level, she has successfully taken on fraudsters, money launderers, and terrorists. She is experienced, highly respected, and she will be an excellent leader as Interim U.S. Attorney for Nevada.”

Elieson received her law degree from Brigham Young University and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin.

Nevada’s acting U.S. attorney, Steven Myhre, will resume his role as first assistant U.S. attorney, according to the Justice Department.

Our freedom is something extremely important and it is constantly attacked.

From my study of scripture I believe our country will be lost to Satan and he will have total control - however, if we do all we can to promote freedom we can save many people in the process and even if they are not religious begin an eventual process that will lead them to Christ.

A lifetime of ridicule and hate from the loud and belligerent voices in our country would be more than worth it to help just one single person.

Interview with Ammon Bundy regarding his ordeal in prison as well as what the new appointment may mean for the upcoming retrial or dismissal.

Ammon is manifesting some personality changes which occur as a result of abuse.

He has some concerns regarding the Trump Administrations lack of intervention regarding the Hammonds.

Doctrine and Covenants 76:3-4 His purposes fail not, neither are there any who can stay his hand.

D&C 124:16,75 ...in the hour of affliction; and his reward shall not fail if he receive counsel.

Doctrine and Covenants 136:42 Be diligent in keeping all my commandments, lest judgments come upon you, and your faith fail you, and your enemies triumph over you. So no more at present. Amen and Amen. (Relationship; if faith doesn't fail then protection from enemies = not fail.)

This is the most interesting wording here. And isn't it talking about what you guys are concerned about? If that is the case then let us align our will with his and escalate our faith that he can be moved by mercy to support us and the needy everywhere.

D&C 109;
47 We ask thee, Holy Father, to remember those who have been driven by the inhabitants of Jackson county, Missouri, from the lands of their inheritance, and break off, O Lord, this yoke of affliction that has been put upon them.
48 Thou knowest, O Lord, that they have been greatly oppressed and afflicted by wicked men; and our hearts flow out with sorrow because of their grievous burdens.
49 O Lord, how long wilt thou suffer this people to bear this affliction, and the cries of their innocent ones to ascend up in thine ears, and their blood come up in testimony before thee, and not make a display of thy testimony in their behalf?
50 Have mercy, O Lord, upon the wicked mob, who have driven thy people (economic and spiritual bondage, and the widows and needy go unaided this day), that they may cease to spoil, that they may repent of their sins if repentance is to be found;
51 But if they will not, make bare thine arm, O Lord, and redeem that which thou didst appoint a Zion unto thy people. (It always comes down to Zion.)
52 And if it cannot be otherwise, that the cause of thy people may not fail before thee may thine anger be kindled, and thine indignation fall upon them, that they may be wasted away, both root and branch, from under heaven;
53 But inasmuch as they will repent, thou art gracious and merciful, and wilt turn away thy wrath (turn away the afflictions of the repentant and those with broken hearts before thee) when thou lookest upon the face of thine Anointed.
54 Have mercy, O Lord, upon all the nations of the earth; have mercy upon the rulers of our land; may those principles, which were so honorably and nobly defended, namely, the Constitution of our land, by our fathers, be established forever.
55 Remember the kings, the princes, the nobles, and the great ones of the earth, and all people, and the churches, all the poor, the needy, and afflicted ones of the earth;
56 That their hearts may be softened when thy servants shall go out from thy house, O Jehovah, to bear testimony of thy name; that their prejudices may give way before the truth, and thy people may obtain favor in the sight of all;
57 That all the ends of the earth may know that we, thy servants, have heard thy voice, and that thou hast sent us;
58 That from among all these, thy servants, the sons of Jacob, may gather out the righteous to build a holy city to thy name, as thou hast commanded them.
59 We ask thee to appoint unto Zion other stakes besides this one which thou hast appointed, that the gathering of thy people may roll on in great power and majesty, that thy work may be cut short in righteousness.
60 Now these words, O Lord, we have spoken before thee, concerning the revelations and commandments which thou hast given unto us, who are identified with the Gentiles.
61 But thou knowest that thou hast a great love for the children of Jacob, who have been scattered upon the mountains for a long time, in a cloudy and dark day.
62 We therefore ask thee to have mercy upon the children of Jacob, that Jerusalem, from this hour, may begin to be redeemed;
63 And the yoke of bondage may begin to be broken off from the house of David;
64 And the children of Judah may begin to return to the lands which thou didst give to Abraham, their father.
65 And cause that the remnants of Jacob, who have been cursed and smitten because of their transgression, be converted from their wild and savage condition to the fulness of the everlasting gospel;
66 That they may lay down their weapons of bloodshed, and cease their rebellions.
67 And may all the scattered remnants of Israel, who have been driven to the ends of the earth, come to a knowledge of the truth, believe in the Messiah, and be redeemed from oppression, and rejoice before thee.

Yep, Constitution and Zion covered in there. We just need to keep doing what we can. Escalate and exercise faith, pray that the Lord doesn't delay his coming, and be repentant. If what we are concerned about is covered and prayed about by those that went before, and prayed about in this way it can come to pass. Notice how those things are asked for to the Lord as part of promises that he's given in other scriptures. That is because they are meant to come to pass.

And aren't all of these things coming to pass right now?

The scriptures are being fulfilled in our very own lifetime. And the foundation of safety is the 'Old Ship Zion' described by BY, and others included Elder Ballard...who knew that this was the place of safety.
