Re: Founders faught conspiracy
Which is ironic, if you think about it, since the Founding Fathers' whole movement against England was kind of a conspiracy. An open one, sure, but a conspiracy nonetheless.
I also kinda grin at calling them "patriots". The definition of a patriot is someone who is loyal to their homeland. They were anything but! They wanted independence from their homeland, and fought hard to gain it.

Of course the revolution was a conspiracy, and a very secret conspiracy for quite some time until it was "publicly announced". The consequences would be rather severe if the conspiracy was discovered. And after it became an open fact, the consequences were still severe, until the hostilities ended.iWriteStuff wrote: ↑October 27th, 2017, 8:01 amWhich is ironic, if you think about it, since the Founding Fathers' whole movement against England was kind of a conspiracy. Some of the conspirators were born here in the colonies, but not all of them, in fact less than half of the major conspirators, if I recall correctly. Their loyalty was really to their colony and their economic interest there, rather than to the 'homeland' where they may have come from.
The great motivation was their financial interest. The idea of the colonies was to exploit the colonies and bring wealth to the 'homeland' which was why the idea ran contrary to the concept of independence.
