Schools are churches. The church of humanism .I liked that comment

2 nephi 26:20

20 And the Gentiles are lifted up in the pride of their eyes, and have stumbled, because of the greatness of their stumbling block, that they have built up many churches; nevertheless, they put down the power and miracles of God, and preach up unto themselves their own wisdom and their own learning, that they may get gain and grind upon the face of the poor.

Oh so true.

Get rid of the federal government in education. How can they give such a crappy education for up to 10000 per student? Give me that money and I'll give you a world-class education. It's not about education. It's about making kids low energy.

For-profit would always yield the best results. However, getting the Federal gov out of it and giving it back to the states would be much better.

We will never fix the public education system. Parents want "free" babysitting. The education industry wants to make money.

I'm fascinated by conservatives who rail against socialism while sending their kids to state schools. Which of course get money taken by force.

We hate welfare queens who bum off the state, but if you have 8 kids and send them to state schools what's the difference. Would people have that many kids if they were to educate them themselves of have to pay for their education?

Well, if this is true then the only way to upgrade is for smart people to start having way more children:

The majority of those in government were educated in those humanist churches, are compensated by tyranny and associate with socialists. What do we expect from the "snake in our coat pocket".. we know what they are. Many are good people that have a myriad of false beliefs and toxic association.

It is more productive (and faster) to start new good habits than to try to stop a bad habit. The good will push out (replace) the bad, slowly at first and quickly at the end.

I love that you said a program (band-aid) for a bad system won't fix it. Neither will attempting to just take it away. Nature abhors a vacuum.. but the battle will not be won by wishing away the great and abominable. It's not time to run and hide in the hills (unless you are directed to by the Spirit ;) I have not).

It's time to strengthen our stakes. We need to fill our communities with true educational opportunities, bring truth into our everyday activities and live true to His teachings. Establishing beacons of light for those who are prepared to learn and associate.

I'll give you one worse than that:

There's a village in Alaska with a population of roughly 150 people, 50 of them school aged. They got money from the state (and federal grants) approved to build a K-12 school there.

The money budgeted was $162,000,000.00

You did not misread that. The budget granted was $162 MILLION. That's U.S. Dollars, not Yen or Pesos.

School buildings in rural Alaska last 20-30 years before weather makes them unusable. Figure out that this school will educate around 50 students per year for 30 years. Average out over time that's over $100,000 per student. Since Alaska currently spends around $20,000 per student per year, your government is spending $120,000 per student.

Again - Your tax money pays $120,000 per year for some Alaska students. Tel me that's good use of money.

Oh, by the way - that figure of $162,000,000.00 was not quite enough. When the contractor went $5M overbudget, Alaska didn't even complain, they just wrote the check. (Well, they may have complained, but they still paid the money.)

I was on the curriculum committee that was writing material which would be used at that school. I questioned those numbers, but the Asst. Superintendent confirmed, that was the actual amount.
