When I read chapter 59 and 60 of Alma, Alma 60 shows just like the Nephites we're withholding support to some people while the others take everything. This is showing why the judgments of God may come upon us. Some are taking up all the means of supporting oneself and not sharing, leaving others with nothing and unable to start families.
Recently studies have shown that the US has the greatest separation of income between rich and poor more than any other country in the world. Its also more than any other country that we know of historically.
