Visions of Glory - As told to John Pontius

Post by AshleyB »

I just finished reading the new John Pontius book today. I wondered if anyone else has read it and what they thought. I cannot even exlpain the way it has impacted me or the ways in which I felt the Holy Spirit while reading it and the whisperings I received from the Holy Ghost. I felt like the book was meant just for me. I bet others will feel the same way. What an inspired piece of literature. It's truly been a geat blessing to read it.

Hi Ashley,
I cannot find this book anywhere. Any place on the web were I may find it?
I read Following the light of Christ into His presence, and so I would really love to read this new book.
Can you expound a bit more in regards to it?
Thank you!

Visions of Glory on Order Now

October 11, 2012 by John M. Pontius

You can pre-order “Visions of Glory” from Cedar Fort Inc., and from Amazon.com and also from Barnes & Noble. It is due to ship in November. Those who signed up for the book at the UnBlog reunion should go ahead and pre-order at one of these sites. I’m sorry, but I don’t believe the sign up sheet was effective.

Thanks,

John Pontius

It is clear from Johns books and articles that he has experienced some very profound spiritual experiences in his own life and is a voice of experience in inviting all the come unto Christ and gain a personal relationship with him while still in this mortal state. I feel blessed to have read his words. He is truly one of the good guys out there. I have no doubt that his place in Zion has been guaranteed. I only wish to be so lucky.

I pre-ordered mine off Amazon, too; but it still hasn't arrived. Ah, patience....

AshleyB- I was very blessed to have been a part of a group that was invited by John to proof read his manuscript last March. The manuscript alone was very profound, and as my sweetheart and I lied in bed reading it together, I began to cry and weep when Spencer described what happened at the "special" conference, and that whole event.
I asked John if I may share it with some others that I thought it could help them get through with some of their own personal struggles. I watched in amazement and awe as each person I had shared this with, as they reported back to me that it has changed their lives, and touched them so deeply, that they too were brought to tears. The self healing that I witnessed, and the growth that each one received was a miracle.
Just so you all know, that only 30-40% of what Spencer saw and experienced is contained in the book, and he will not share the remainder with just anyone at all....such as the blessings and words the the Savior spoke at the "special conference" were to sacred to express to us.

I do not want to say anymore, because I want all to be able to have their own Spiritual journey and growth from their own reading.

I've read it. I thought parts were very special and pertinent to all of us. Some I felt were especially important for me to see. Other parts were strange, hard to wrap my head around. I guess it will give every reader something individual to think about.

I believe that the books are currently on back order due the overwhelming response. The 1st printing sold like candy!
I am very grateful for this book. I ordered mine through the lds Avow website. I have felt such a powerful spirit in this book. I know the accounts shared there are real experiecnes "Spencer" had. We have been blessed to hear him relate some of them to us from time to time.

While listening to the talk, what struck me was him watching the Elders' Quorum Pres view Internet Pornography, and the spiritual changes/manifestations connected with that....also him being able to immediately size up anyone (know their heart, mind struggles, thoughts, sins, etc) - such as the recently divorced single mom nurse who he instantly knew was having an affair with the doctor...

I ordered my book from the publisher, Cedar Fort, Inc. and have had it for a week now... I should finish it today. I have read lots of books on "Out of body experiences" or "Near Death Experiences" and they all have common things people see and experience in this experience. However, this book reads a little like a novel in some places and is real detailed. I am still putting some dots together and reconciling them to the scriptures and some of the prophets teachings. There is one thing that does not fit in my thinking and that is the Council of Adam ondi Ahman he mentions. His book says this:
Pg. 143 "the great meeting of Adam-ondi-Ahman, which had just taken place. He (Joseph Smith Jr.) rehearsed the events in great detail. He described how a temporary platform had been erected, and the only one seated upon it was Adam. The group was small, so there was no need for a PA System."

What would God need with a PA System?

I find that strange and not the way Joseph Smith Jr. talked about that "council" and I quote:
"There will be 144,000 saviors on Mount Zion, and with them an innumerable host that no man can number."

and again he says:

11 Q. What are we to understand by sealing the one hundred and forty-four thousand, out of all the tribes of Israel—twelve thousand out of every tribe?
A. We are to understand that those who are sealed are high priests, ordained unto the holy order of God, to administer the everlasting gospel; for they are they who are ordained out of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, by the angels to whom is given power over the nations of the earth, to bring as many as will come to the church of the Firstborn. (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 77:11)

It appears the me that at this council there is going to be a huge gathering of people, not a "small" group that this book talks about.

So because of this I think the experience this man had was given as an "allegory," like the "allegory of the tame and wild olive trees" in the Book of Mormon Jacob 5. The book, Visions of Glory... I am enjoying reading it as a allegory novel with great spiritual concepts laced within its pages.

I just ordered this book on Amazon along with Come Let Us Adore Him. Oh, and I bought Triumph of Zion at Deseret Book yesterday. I'm surprised they had it. They didn't have anything else from Pontius or Snuffer.

Looking forward to some good reading this holiday season.

I thought the book would be shipped on or after the 13th?

Maybe I'll order it now then. I've read the first chapter and listened to the audio and am awestruck.

Very excited to read it.

Yep, when I got an AVOW mailer touting the book I went to Amazon which had it for cheaper and put it on my wishlist. They said the book would be available 11/13. Then suddenly I noticed they were out of stock (and still are), so I went and ordered it from AVOW. Now they're saying they're out of stock too, so I just have to wait.

I read the first chapter sample. Very intriguing for sure. I'll check out the mp3 - thanks for posting the link.

About Adam Ondi Ahmen, I remember being struck by a statement Snuffer made about the first meeting with Adam being a very small group, and he said there's no reason when it re-convenes in the latter days that it cannot be a small group as well. As we've seen in the scriptures, the Lord is willing to go with a small group/remnant. 144,000 is a symbolic number, not a literal number.

This was a life-changing book for me. I read the second half first since it deals with the calamities that will be coming to Utah where I live. I have emailed all my friends about it along with the link to the MP3. To me, this is pure revelation and explains so much of what the scriptures have described of the last days.

As for the meeting at Adam-Ondi-Ahman, there is nothing that precludes multiple meetings there with the Savior. The first one could indeed be very private as a precursor to the larger one. We just don't know.

I can't recommend this book enough. It is an absolutely stunning account of the tribulations of the last days and the building up of the cities of Zion. I am at a loss to adequately describe what this book has done for me.

I just listened to the mp3 interview. What an inspirational interview. I find his account of the coming scourge here along the Wasatch Front and across the US fascinating in light of John Taylor's vision of the same event. It's not gonna be pretty.
