Re: Mitt Romney
Mitt Romney reminds me of several pro ball players....good at their "thing". but lousy at other things that are more important in the eternal scheme of things.

WHAT!!!!! I have studied MKultra and never knew that. Where did you get that information? WOW!!!!!!79scholar wrote:I get the feeling Romney is a wolf in sheep's clothing and will be elected in 2012.
I have some indicators that allude to this (like his father's participation in the MKultra project) but no proof.
I dont like Romney he is a wolf with fangs...he is a globalist. It made me sick how so many LDS people just fell all over themselves believing he was so good. His record shows that he does not support the constitution. I believe the JBS has voting records. Just the fact that he use to support abortion but then changed his opinion should tell us something about his character.

Both of these pages have a link inviting a reply. Here is a chance to express one's opinion of Mitt Romney as a presidential candidate.

Re: Mitt Romney
We dont really have to decide if a candidate is evil or not as much as we decide and judge unconstitutional behavior. THEN THERE REALLY IS NO NEED TO SECOND GUESS IF IT IS BASED ON IGNORANCE, APATHY, OR WILLFULL INTENT. Correct?

Hey lundbaek, lundbaek wrote:There are still LDSs around here hoping Mitt Romney will become VP. They don't want to know that he misrepresented the Church with his past stances on certain doctrinal, moral and constitutional principles.
I wonder if any LDS who had in past publicly supported abortion and homosexual interests and publicly stated that the last time he knew of that God spoke to man was to Moses at the bush as Romnney did would be considered for a mission, especially as a mission president somewhere.
I was talking to my father about Mitt the other day and mention that he said the last time God spoke to man was to Moses.....my father thought I was crazy. So needless say I been searching for the reference but I have not had any luck. Do you know where I can find that reference?

Re: Mitt Romney
I cannot find the video, but the above gives the quotations. Then, of course there is his recent change on abortion. Here's an interview from a few years ago:

Re: Mitt Romney
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A comment by presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is raising some eyebrows here in Utah.
http://www.abc4.com/news/local/story.as ... d018d03bf3
Romney was asked about God and,in essence, whether God speaks to him or to LDS Church leaders.
This interview between Romney and a Boston TV station aired in early December.
His comments about the LDS Church didn't cause too much of a ripple back east.
But here in Utah, they seem to raise questions about his view of how the LDS Church was founded.
In a lengthy interview with one of Boston's most prominent journalists, Mitt Romney was asked the following:
Should God speak to you and ask you to do something that might be in conflict with your duties as president or should he speak to your Prophet who would speak to you - how would you make that decision, how would you handle that?”
To which Romney responded: “I don't recall God speaking to me. I don't know that he has spoken to anyone since Moses and the bush or perhaps some others.
But this answer appears to contradict one of the foundations of the LDS church.
In the Church's First Vision, a young Joseph Smith is visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ.
Smith hears one of them say, “This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him ”
And if, as Romney suggests, that God hasn't spoken to anyone for thousands of years, then what happens to the LDS Church's belief in direct revelation from God to the Church's prophets?
Revelations such as the one in 1978 that blacks could hold the priesthood.
Contacted by ABC 4 News, Romney's campaign issued the following statement:
Governor Romney is very proud of his faith and he endeavors to live by it.”
We also asked the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for a comment about Romney's statement.
But the Church politely declined our request.

He was on Faux News last night after the debate. He was pushing McCain and mentioning how he felt McCain was supportive of Israel but Obama wasn't.

Re: Mitt Romney
I'm late to this discussion and don't have time to read all the posts.
My take on Romney? He is a Mormon wolf in sheep's clothing. The sad thing is that Utah Mormons voted 90% for this guy during the GOP primaries. My heart really sickened when Utah Mormons had a REAL principled Constitutionalist to vote for... Ron Paul. God will hold Utahans accountable for this travesty.

Re: Mitt Romney
What is even sadder is that the GOP took those Romney votes, changed their rules at the last minute and had all of their delegates cast a vote for nomination of McCain, breaking the National GOP rules.Captain Moroni wrote:I'm late to this discussion and don't have time to read all the posts.

And Utahans made no peep.....

Liberal Mitt's greatest hits - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OQoBxZZPqU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama is announcing today the launch of a campaign to prevent Mitt Romney from becoming the Republican nominee for president.
The campaign will include “Stop Mitt Romney” TV and radio ad campaigns in early primary states, as well as direct mail programs, online advertising, and more.
Today the campaign is releasing the following web ad which documents Mitt Romney’s liberal positions on almost every important issue facing Americans today. The video can be seen below:
Working together we can ensure the GOP nominee for president is a constitutional conservative who can call out the failures of Barack Obama and his administration’s embrace of quasi-socialistic policies.
Let’s start by educating Republican primary voters on Mitt Romney’s real record. Please share this video with all of your friends.
We will also need your support to fund our radio and TV ad campaigns in early primary & caucus states such as Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Arizona and Nevada.
We’re asking all our supporters to make a contribution to support this effort. You can make a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more.
