Not only did the trumpet fall, but ...
It was also pointed out that there will be no angel at all on several new temples that are currently under construction.
The number of temples without an angel Moroni statue will soon double: https://www.ldsliving.com/Temple-Render ... ni/s/92906
I don't know about any of you, but I get a sense of completeness when I see that angel with the trumpet high up on a spire. My closest local temple lacks such a feature. In the LDS Living article above was a link to the church resource on angel statues: https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.or ... ds-temples

Other than Salt Lake, the pioneer era Temples (Manti, St George and Logan) don't have a statue. I grew up in Logan so a lack of a statue isn't a big deal to me.

You and me both AZ brother. The Gilbert temple was a daily sight for me since it was erected - except for Sundays haha.AZRob wrote: ↑June 3rd, 2020, 2:50 pm It was also pointed out that there will be no angel at all on several new temples that are currently under construction.

How many coincidences will there be until folks start to ask the pertinent questions, I wonder?

Re: Not only did the trumpet fall, but ...
What is the coincidence? A few of the new Temples won't have the statue but as has been noted, that's nothing new. I'm pretty sure none of the Biblical Temples or the Book of Mormon Temples had a statue of Moroni. These days with the number of new Temples being built there is going to be more Temples that have to meet city and county codes, some of which won't allow a statue because it's either a statue or because of height reasons. A statue doesn't make a Temple a Temple. No coincidence there.

Re: Not only did the trumpet fall, but ...
I think the level of sin on the planet is quite high right now. When Jesus comes and all the sin is swept away we are not going to know what to do with ourselves.
I sustain President Nelson because I believe that Jesus died for his sins the same as he did for me and I know Jesus wants to save him and the rest of the twelve apostles and the entire world. I believe Jesus is that powerful.
I know the church is like a damsel in distress right now and it can't hurt to pray for our leaders.
But I testify that the atonement of Jesus is enough to pay for the sins of the brethren.
I know if Jesus needs me to know about someone's sin then He will tell me. But usually, even when it comes to abuse, my job is to heal and not to worry about what judgment comes to the wicked.
I really trust that Jesus died for each of us and has a plan of salvation for everyone who is alive and breathing. So long as God gives them water and sunshine, who am I to judge? God is working on that soul, so I don't need to get involved except for my own life, my own children, and my own testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. If the spirit tells me to not let my kids be part of a program then it is my responsibility to listen to that prompting. I can't place my responsibility for my family on other people.
I believe that when Jesus comes again, priesthood keys will be given back to Jesus who will reign as King on the earth. This even may even have already taken place as alluded to by Wendy Nelson. We just don't know.
I believe it is human nature to want to blame someone or judge some institution. But like the story of Nebechednezzer, who was made to eat grass, until he realized that God is the one who creates kings...
God is the one who has given us the keys of the kingdom through the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
I expect that if that were to change then God would show us what to do.
My own prayers and witness has been to stay in the boat and work on my own healing and repentance. Jesus is going to get us where we need to be.
Some may be seeing holes here or there and say abandon ship. But if Jesus doesn't provide another ship, or land... then abandoning ship too early could cause more harm them good. Maybe the ship is sinking but you are still needed to get people onto the life boats.
I don't know. Maybe it's a bad analogy.
I agree a lot is going wrong but still follow the holy spirit and don't let the spirit of accusation put you in the wrong place. The Lord's anointed is the Lord's anointed until a newly anointed King is in place. Heck, maybe the old king is trying to kill us as King Saul tried to do with David. But let us wait on the Lord.

Paris France, Laie Hawaii, Cardston Alberta, and Mesa Arizona don't have Moroni or spires.
I for one like the angel Moroni on the temple with a trumpet. It's unfortunate so many temples now will not have it.The statue of Moroni is not a figure of worship, but rather one of respect for his role in the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Moroni was a real person, an ancient prophet in the Book of Mormon who revealed the location of golden plates to the young Joseph Smith in 1823 from which the sacred book of scripture was translated.
With the horn pressed to his lips and his right hand holding the outstretched horn, the statue of Moroni symbolizes the restoration and the preaching of it to the world.

Angel Moroni holds a trumpet to symbolize the spreading of the gospel and the Second Coming of the Savior. Angel Moroni statues atop temples usually face east, when possible. This represents the Second Coming of Christ as it is stated in scripture that Christ will come from the east.

Re: Not only did the trumpet fall, but ...
The trumpet is the first trumpet of resurrection. The book is the book of life - far more fitting symbols for a temple than the trumpet of spreading the gospel and the scriptures / gospel. There is no trumpet of spreading the gospel in the scriptures.Sunain wrote: ↑June 3rd, 2020, 7:39 pm Paris France, Laie Hawaii, Cardston Alberta, and Mesa Arizona don't have Moroni or spires.

Christ does not come from the East. The rising sun represents the coming of the son of man who is an angel ascending from the east.
Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Look at that - the angel who presides over the 144,000 - the chief of the seraphim - ascends from the East. It's amazing how our church now has taken the baton of utterly disappearing the Holy Ghost.
Ezekiel 44:1 Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.
2 Then said the Lord unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the Lord, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut.
3 It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.
Jesus is no prince. The above prince is the heir to the davidic covenant.
The one who is fastened as a nail in the sure place openeth what no man can open and shuteth what no man can shut. What a coincidence with Ezekiel 44's sealed gate:
Isaiah 21:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house.
The messenger, or angel, of the covenant of Malachi 3 who appears at the temple - by way of the eastern gate.
1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, (not caps / not Jehovah) whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.
Notice how this idea of an angel of the covenant who prepares the way before Jehovah is nearly absent from the minds and hearts of latter-day saints. He purifies the Sons of Levi. Why not the sons of Melchizedek? Because he is the lesser God to whom points the lesser Priesthood.
I almost forgot this one:
Isaiah 14:1 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.
3 He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.
4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
Who raised up the righteous man from the east? "I Jehovah the first and with the last; I am He."
The Davidic Covenant: I will be his father. He shall be my son. This is the rising or an ascending of a new unconditional inheritor - hence rising from the East like a Sun rising in the sky - hence the signs of the coming of the sun of man perhaps being a new star or new planet or a comet etc. as Joseph Smith prophesied.
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
Wow that is powerful. Jehovah is the glory that is seen upon the servant. Powerful. To the brightness of thy rising.
Give this a listen and consider all that is upon us right now

Good thought. I like the new avatar.
For the longest time I held hope the brethren were hiding the meat behind the milk by the command of the Lord. I looked and there was nothing there. Not a thing.

This played automatically - so glad it did. This man has an incredible voice ...........
And he sings of that trumpet Moroni is carrying .... if any of you ever meet one of the brethren, ask him if he knows who sounds the first trumpet.

I know very little about Wendy Nelson's written works or public statements. If you could provide a link or paste any statement or statements by Wendy Nelson that could seem to suggest that priesthood keys have already been returned to Christ I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

"So, now a question as I conclude: What if you learned that the Savior had already returned to this earth—that He, as part of His Second Coming, had already met with some of His true followers in several marvelous, large gatherings—gatherings about which the world, including CNN and the blogosphere, knew nothing. If you found out that the Savior was already on the earth, what would you desperately want to do today, and what would you be willing and ready to do tomorrow?"
