LDS Churchs new 25 story high rise
The LDS Church has released the design for their new 25 story high rise in Slat Lake City. https://kjzz.com/news/local/constructio ... t-to-begin.
Thats it. Nothing more. Simple information. I guess Elder Neil Anderson was mistaken when he said "We are not a wealthy people..."

Looks really cool. Love how the Church is about community building while also making money to prepare for what is coming.

It seems that the church is building up SLC, is the headquarters really going to move to New Jerusalem or stay in SLC?

This Church is a class act! It's amazing to watch the growth and success of a once small and obscure Church become worldwide with a Temple in Rome Italy and the financial ability to build
these beautiful buildings. Impressive to say the least.

Nice! We don't mind having to drive hours and hours (on snowy/icy roads 6 months of the year) and take an entire day just to do one temple session, since we still don't have a temple in our state and have to drive to other states to attend - as long as the Church/SLC can have this shiny new building!

Re: LDS Churchs new 25 story high rise
I attend one of the smallest Temples, doesn't even have a Chapel. I also drive miles and miles, but the sad part is there is low attendance by the members. So whose fault is it that I have a small Temple and have to drive so far?

And many of those 17 are constantly BUSY. (I waited the last time to do initiatory for 1 1/2 hours before I could even get in.)

Zion when built will not be a dump. We will find beautiful buildings and streets just like what the Church is trying to do with DTSLC. It will be the greatest city in the world.

To answer your question - the members in your area - I suppose that's the answer you wanted. But your experience is very different than mine. Our assigned temple, in another state, is always busy every time we go. The endowment room is usually full - there are times, especially in the summer, that the workers bring in folding chairs because there are not enough built-in seats for the number of people wanting to do the session. I usually have to wait to use a changing room, as there is almost always someone already in them all (ours is the smallest type/style of temple; no chapel, few changing booths). I don't know where you live, but our temple has very high attendance, so that's not the reason our state doesn't have a temple. But nice try.

Will those buildings be filled with worldly businesses and worldly people? Will it have a megascreen with ads? Will it be across the street from a luxurious mall with sensual ads of women drinking wine and filled with more worldly businesses and people?setyourselffree wrote: ↑April 27th, 2019, 12:39 pmZion when built will not be a dump. I think not. Zion might be beyond our imagination, but I'll bet anything that it aint gonna look like Downtown SLC

I guess the Church works with what it has. Just wonder WHO that god is they are thanking...Alma 31
17 ... thou hast elected us that we shall be saved, whilst all around us are elected to be cast by thy wrath down to hell; for the which holiness, O God, we thank thee; and we also thank thee that thou hast elected us, that we may not be led away after the foolish traditions of our brethren, which doth bind them down to a belief of Christ, which doth lead their hearts to wander far from thee, our God.
18 And again we thank thee, O God, that we are a chosen and a holy people. Amen.

Mormons. Some are rich, some are poor, and most are in between.
Myself, I live in Saintsville, state of Zion, so I have plenty of Temples. I moved close to a Temple with Temple going in mind.
I have no desire to go to a Temple and watch a ... movie, or film as they say in Los Angeles.
Some states don't have enough Saints to have a Temple.
These Temples should not be like ATMs, one on every other corner, and all automated.
dc
Maybe the church will make enough money with that high rise to build a Temple or two in Emma Lee's location.
Myself I don't like high rises, too big and no way for a human to relate to that gigantic scale. They dwarf humans too much. But that doesn't mean I think others should not have them. I just won't live too close to those high rises. Any more. But yes, a lot less, thank God.

Re: LDS Churchs new 25 story high rise
And yet, our stake provides more temple workers for our assigned temple (which is in another state), than the stakes where the temple is actually located. Weird, huh, since according to you and David13, the members in my state are too unrighteous to have a temple. Oh, and the previous temple president was also from our stake, where we're too unrighteous to have a temple. So, in summary - the state I live in is too unrighteous to have a temple, but we're not too unrighteous to provide the closest temple (in another state) with most of its workers, and it's previous president. Cool.setyourselffree wrote: ↑April 27th, 2019, 2:49 pmMaybe the state you live in is to unrightous to have a temple.EmmaLee wrote: ↑April 27th, 2019, 2:43 pmTo answer your question - the members in your area - I suppose that's the answer you wanted. No worries though. As soon as my husband retires, we're moving out west where all the righteous people are, so we'll be closer to a temple then.
