The true irony is that you failed to mention the fact that never in the recorded history of the earth has any energy healers, essential oils, Eastern medicine, etc., etc., ever been able to keep a person from dying. Only the Priesthood of God has power over death. And yet you and others keep trying to defend and turn others towards certain 'alternative' healing practices which are clearly not of God, as per a Prophet of God.

I urge you to give up energy healing. Please just give it up for a while and see if there is not a change in your life. I have no power over you so you can go back to it later if you want to. Just a few months. Please.
Lol, how about giving up promoting/ trading/ collecting silver, or manna, for at least a few months and see?
You understand how collecting precious metals isn't even remotely similar to aligning chakras, channeling spirits, or getting paid to be a spiritual healer, right? When there's a talk in GC about the evils of collecting coins, you feel free to remind us.
In that same quote, next paragraph. :)

Vision wrote: October 1st, 2017, 8:24 pm It's not necessarily a new one as of this weekend, but it was confirmed and reinforced this weekend. When the leaders speak at conference they use first person experiences with doctrine to teach us. Elder Zwick's experience with the illiterate elder was the best of conference weekend. He taught the principle of seeking to understand before seeking to be understood. He taught that mormon platitudes are not always the answer when we don't understand the problem. I love that story and the teachings it represents.

I think it is a powerful way to teach principles. If we are to learn from their example then we need to teach with first person examples from our own life's experiences instead of filling a talk or lesson with a bunch of prophetic quotes about the topic at hand. Getting closer to the audience at hand is way better.
I will agree with you to an extent.
It is important to listen, to say nothing, offer no advice in many a situation. Too many people are willing to give a fast short answer. The best response is to listen then think, maybe take time, pray for guidance. Sometimes then the problem resolves on it's own.
A good example is when someone dies. The best thing to say is nothing. But to listen. Let them express what they need to express to get over the death.

Yep. I am saying that. Western medicine, for all its benefits, does not have the power to save from death. Same goes for all other methods and modalities of healing. Not permanently anyhow. Only God, and those to whom He delegates His power (through the priesthood), can overcome death.

Well...this was a question that I had. Last Speaker, Elder Nelson I believe....Said something that caused me to have thoughts pop in to my mind. He said death was necessary.....Is death necessary?
He said as a Medical doctor, that when someone would pass, the family would be taken to a special room with padded walls, and sometimes they would bang their head against the wall in anguish. He said he wished they understood that death is a necessary part of life...and that death is necessary and is just a passage into another world, and that he wished people could understand that?

So...i don't know what my question is, but these are the thoughts that made me ponder.

I know Jesus, when his friend passed, went out on a boat by himself in anguish(can't remember the exact passages...maybe someone can post)...he mourned when those he loved died...Mourn with those that morn thought. He also mourned because the people around him did not understand when Lazarus died that Lazarus was not dead, just" sleeping". We also understand that Christ overcame death through the resurrection....and we also know that John the believed was translated in section 7 of D&C, and then I think the apostle Paul teaches something like this in 1 Corinthians 13. And the city of Enoch was taken up to heaven. And Zion has translated being (I don't have scripture off the top of my head, maybe someone can post a reference).....So the question is maybe ....Is death really necessary? Is it a generational thing??? If the scriptures teach of eternal life...what does that look like? Joseph Smith taught about different types of beings that walked the earth.....when does this get revealed? Do we need to repent of Death? Satan in the temple ceremony said, "we would not surely die, but separation from God caused death"

So, I don't want to adopt an incorrect belief here, but I also don't want to hold out hope that I will never die and be majorly depressed when that time comes. I just want some sound understanding without dismissing all the stuff that popped in my head. I just want to clarify for my own conscience....Based on scripture...is death necessary? In what instances is it not? Also, what do we know about Elijah? Was Elijah translated?

Go...give me your thoughts. Im interested.
Death is always a separation. I have no doubt Sister Hales is going to struggle emotionally because she has been separated from her companion. And I think Jesus mourned due to the pain of losing a loved one temporarily, as well as because of the pain of others He cared about who survived.

Here's an interesting thought: people recover from the loss of a spouse to death more quickly than they recover from the loss of a spouse to divorce. In this fact I find a testimony of the eternal nature of family. Our Savior knew that those who died were in the spirit world, where they would eventually be reunited with their loved ones.

Death is necessary. Elijah and Moses were translated, and I expect many more have been and will be, but even they will experience a death and resurrection. The scriptures describe it happening in the twinkling of an eye, but it's still death and resurrection.

This is not true.

I start by avoiding illness and accident by eating healthy and using common sense. If I need something more I use herbs. Doctors are a last resort, in our house reserved for trauma, like a broken bone. I learned about energy healing and asked the Lord, he told me "It is not from me." So I never have and never will use it.

Second witness here with Michelle: I have never used an energy healer. Never will.

Yup. It's called the principle of the WoW. I could go on and on, but it's useless. You can't see it when it's you, but only when you perceive it's others?

I don't wish to put words in anyone's mouth, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe what "Seek the Truth" is saying (and other energy healing proponents have suggested in the past) is that Priesthood blessings are merely a form of 'energy healing.' In their mind the power of God is 'energy' and therefore anyone who exercises that power (regardless if they are Priesthood holders or not) is tapping into 'energy' to heal or bless others. They use this logic and reasoning to justify energy healing... and in the process they corrupt the pure and simple doctrines of Christ, thus the devil "whispereth in their ears" and "cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell... from whence there is no deliverance."

Then it seems pretty obvious that he wasn't talking about energy healers. :)
Here's just one such example...

http://julieroweprepare.com/what-is-an-energy-session/
What is an Energy Session?

I’ve had several people email me and ask about energy sessions and what they are.
Simply put, they are twenty to forty minute sessions that include working together to release trapped emotions and other negative energy which inflict the body.

There are several reasons people get sick, and several reasons people suffer in general. Energy sessions are an amazing way to release negative energy and free the mind, body and spirit of adverse energy that gets trapped causing everything from health issues to relationship issues to abundance issues.

As many of you know, I have suffered from EBV and Lyme disease for many years, as well as from several autoimmune diseases. Were it not for this work, I would not be alive. It has saved my life more times than I can tell you and I have a strong testimony of the power of this work.

All true healing comes through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Not all energy work is of the light, so it is important to know who is working on you and it is important that you trust their knowledge and intentions.

In an effort to help as many as I can in their healing – whether that be mental, emotional, physical or spiritual – I am offering these sessions for those who would like to learn more. Equal energy exchange is important in facilitating healing and growth. This work requires faith and a desire to learn. It goes hand in hand with gospel principals when done correctly and with pure intention. When done incorrectly and with ill intention it can cause problems. Energy is all around us. Everything is energy. Energy knows no bounds. So although I live in Kansas, I can work with anyone in the world, where ever they are.

I have worked with people all over the United States, in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East.

Using the gifts the Lord has given me I work to help others see more clearly, release negative emotions and energy that is causing them pain or anguish, and restore vitality. We release false beliefs and replace them with truth, and we release negative energy and replace it with light energy.

We balance Meridians, clear energy that is imbalanced, and work on heart walls and connections. Healing the heart is a primary goal as it affects everything we do individually and collectively.

The easiest way for me to explain what this is really like is for someone to have a session.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more, schedule a session.

The first session is a forty minute session and the cost is minimal. In an effort to make this affordable for everyone, I am only charging $65 and proceeds will go to GTRF to help pay for food, clothing, hygiene kits and other supplies that we are stocking at our Safe Houses across the country.

While I appreciate everyone’s interest, I apologize that I just do not have time to reply to each and every email and question. My inbox has been flooded tonight with inquiries and requests so I will do the best I can to respond in a timely manner, but if you do not hear back from me please do not take it personally. I can only schedule a fraction of the people who are asking for help but I will do my best with my already very full schedule. I feel that strongly about this work and about GTRF and our mission.

Time is of the essence.

Lots of love to you and yours…

Julie
Sounds pretty miraculous to me... all for the low, low price of $65 per session.

I'm not sure what you think I'm saying. To be clear, what I am saying is simply this - Only the power of God, the Priesthood, has power over death. All people must die. Whether you receive medical treatment, therapy, herbal treatment, energy healing, help from a witch doctor, priest, rabbi, essential oils, aromatherapy, leeches, a million other treatments and cures, and yes even a Priesthood blessing, you will eventually die. This is all part of God's plan. However, when all is said and done, after we all pass through the veil of death, it is only through Christ and the power of God - Priesthood power - whereby we will all be resurrected and receive immortality. As the prophet Abinidi taught:
Mosiah 16:

1 The time shall come when all shall see the salvation of the Lord; when every nation, kindred, tongue, and people shall see eye to eye and shall confess before God that his judgments are just.
2 And then shall the wicked be cast out, and they shall have cause to howl, and weep, and wail, and gnash their teeth; and this because they would not hearken unto the voice of the Lord; therefore the Lord redeemeth them not.
3 For they are carnal and devilish, and the devil has power over them; yea, even that old serpent that did beguile our first parents, which was the cause of their fall; which was the cause of all mankind becoming carnal, sensual, devilish, knowing evil from good, subjecting themselves to the devil.
4 Thus all mankind were lost; and behold, they would have been endlessly lost were it not that God redeemed his people from their lost and fallen state.
5 But remember that he that persists in his own carnal nature, and goes on in the ways of sin and rebellion against God, remaineth in his fallen state and the devil hath all power over him. Therefore he is as though there was no redemption made, being an enemy to God; and also is the devil an enemy to God.
6 And now if Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come as though they had already come, there could have been no redemption.
7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.
10 Even this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption, and shall be brought to stand before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to their works whether they be good or whether they be evil—
11 If they be good, to the resurrection of endless life and happiness; and if they be evil, to the resurrection of endless damnation, being delivered up to the devil, who hath subjected them, which is damnation—
12 Having gone according to their own carnal wills and desires; having never called upon the Lord while the arms of mercy were extended towards them; for the arms of mercy were extended towards them, and they would not; they being warned of their iniquities and yet they would not depart from them; and they were commanded to repent and yet they would not repent.
13 And now, ought ye not to tremble and repent of your sins, and remember that only in and through Christ ye can be saved?

Then it seems pretty obvious that he wasn't talking about energy healers. :)
Here's just one such example...

Where's the promise? That's a whole lot of empty red (herring) there!

Onsdag wrote: October 1st, 2017, 9:35 pm Yep. I am saying that. Western medicine, for all its benefits, does not have the power to save from death. Same goes for all other methods and modalities of healing. Not permanently anyhow. Only God, and those to whom He delegates His power (through the priesthood), can overcome death.
If you're saying what I think you're saying, my answer is, "Of course." However, not even the priesthood has power over death when it's part of the design.

"you will eventually die. This is all part of God's plan. However, when all is said and done, after we all pass through the veil of death, it is only through Christ and the power of God - Priesthood power - whereby we will all be resurrected and receive immortality."

Are you serious, Sherlock? OF COURSE. That's pretty simple doctrine.

Wait... maybe I'm overreacting. Science says science can/ will be able to resurrect, but I don't believe that; but have you seen energy healers promising resurrections? And if not... what is the point of all that???? Did you assume that all energy healers believe otherwise? Why would any LDS assume otherwise?

Are you serious? Or are you playing some kind of game with me? I assume you are not being serious and instead are trying to play some kind of word game with me. I'm not interested in playing word games with you. A person doesn't need to say "I promise you" to make a promise. The word 'promise' doesn't even need to be present for a promise to be made. Yet you don't need me to explain this to you because you already know it and are simply feigning ignorance of what a promise truly is.

PROM'ISE, v.t. To make a declaration to another, which binds the promiser in honor, conscience or law, to do or forbear some act; as, to promise a visit to a friend; to promise a cessation of hostilities; to promise the payment of money.

1. To afford reason to expect; as, the year promises a good harvest.

2. To make declaration or give assurance of some benefit to be conferred; to pledge or engage to bestow.
The proprietors promised large tracts of land.

PROM'ISE, v.i. To assure one by a promise or binding declaration. The man promises fair; let us forgive him.
1. To afford hopes or expectations; to give ground to expect good. The youth promises to be an eminent man; the wheat promises to be a good crop; the weather promises to be pleasant.

So let me spell it out clearly for you. What is Julie Rowe, one "out of the hundreds of thousands of energy healers on the internet," promising (or in other words assuring strong confidence in, giving reason to expect, or affording hope) to her readers? Let's list some:

  • "To release trapped emotions." She can help people "in their [emotional] healing."
  • "To release... other negative energy which inflict the body."
  • "Energy sessions are an amazing" experience.
  • To "free the mind... of adverse energy" She can help people "in their [mental] healing."
  • To "free the... body of adverse energy." She can help people "in their [physical] healing."
  • To "free the... spirit of adverse energy." She can help people "in their [spiritual] healing."
  • To have good health because the above negative and "adverse energ(ies)" are no longer "trapped."
  • To have good relationships because the above negative and "adverse energ(ies)" are no longer "trapped."
  • To have good wealth and "abundance" because the above negative and "adverse energ(ies)" are no longer "trapped."
  • To be cured from "EBV," just as Julie was.
  • To be cured from "Lyme disease," just as Julie was.
  • To be cured from "several autoimmune diseases," just as Julie was.
  • It has the potential to save and extend lives, just as it has for Julie.
  • There is great "power" in "this work," and I could be a part of it just like Julie.
  • Her energy "healing comes through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ."
  • Her "energy work is of the light."
  • Her "knowledge and intentions" are good, and therefore she is trustworthy.
  • Her energy work is "facilitating healing and growth."
  • Her energy "work requires faith" and therefore she is a faith filled (or faithful) woman.
  • Her particular brand of energy healing "goes hand in hand with gospel principals."
  • Her particular brand of energy healing is "done correctly and with pure intention."
  • Her particular brand of "Energy (healing) knows no bounds."
  • Her energy work is so miraculous that she doesn't need to see you, touch you, or even be in your presence to heal you. She "can work with anyone in the world, where ever they are."
  • Her "gifts" come from "the Lord."
  • She can "help others see more clearly."
  • She can "help others... release negative emotions."
  • She can "help others... release negative... energy."
  • She can help relieve "pain or anguish."
  • She can help "restore vitality."
  • She can help "release false beliefs and replace them with truth."
  • She is able to "release negative energy and replace it with light energy."
  • Julie can "balance Meridians."
  • She knows how to "clear energy that is imbalanced."
  • She is able to "work on heart walls and connections." (suggesting to me that she can help people grow, increase, and fall in love with each other)
  • "Healing the heart is a primary goal" of her energy work. She can therefore heal and mend broken hearts.
  • Her energy work "affects everything we do individually and collectively."
  • Each energy healing session with her will be "twenty to forty minute sessions." However, your "first session is a forty minute session and the cost is minimal."
  • She is "only charging $65 and proceeds will go to GTRF to help pay for food, clothing, hygiene kits and other supplies that we are stocking at our Safe Houses across the country.
Please note that these are simply the reasonable expectations, hopes, and assurances that I, an average person, gets from reading her description of energy healing. Therefore these are the 'promises' she assures me of receiving for participating in one (or more) of her energy healing sessions. If you seriously do not believe these are promises she is making to the reader of her advert then you are being willfully ignorant and I cannot help you. Only to echo the words of Peter to all the energy healers out there and say:

"Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity."

Do you go to energy healers? Will you continue to do so even though Elder Ballard warned you about them?

Second witness here with Michelle: I have never used an energy healer. Never will.
I do not go to energy healers. I am healthy. However, EVERYONE I know (almost all non LDS) go to alternative medicine when regular doctors fail them, which is frequently. Just offering a data point.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying for the most part that despite what people proclaim when they get sick they go to a doctor, when that fails they seek alternatives, all the time. If a person has a bad car accident and after surgery/PT still have boatloads of nerve pain, regular medicine can't help them. So they ALL (almost all) head for the quacker bushes in that situation.

Just being real. There are people in tough situations. I'm not saying any of it works, it's just what happens.
