(AP) — Black-clad anarchists on Sunday stormed into what had been a largely peaceful Berkeley protest against hate and attacked at least four people, including the leader of a politically conservative group who canceled an event a day earlier in San Francisco because of fears violence could break out.
The group of more than 100 hooded protesters, with shields emblazoned with the words “no hate” and waving a flag identifying themselves as anarchist , busted through police lines, avoiding security checks by officers to take away possible weapons. Then the anarchists and blended in with a crowd of 2,000 largely peaceful protesters who turned up to demonstrate in a “Rally Against Hate” opposed to a much smaller gathering of right-wing protesters.
Among those assaulted by the anarchists was Joey Gibson, the leader of the Patriot Prayer group, who canceled a rally Friday and was prevented from holding a news conference on Saturday when authorities closed off the public square Gibson planned to use. Gibson has said he launched Patriot Prayer after several supporters of President Donald Trump were beaten at a Trump campaign stop in San Jose, California last year.
After the anarchists spotted Gibson at the Berkeley park, they pepper-sprayed him and chased him out of it as he backed away with his hands held in the air, accompanied by a masked man wearing football shoulder pads. Gibson and the man went behind a line of police wearing riot gear, who set off a smoke bomb to drive away the anarchists.
Earlier in the day, another group of left-wing demonstrators dressed in black attacked at least three men in the park, kicking and punching them until the assaults were stopped by police. Police also used a smoke grenade to stop one scuffle.
Berkeley authorities did not issue a permit Sunday’s gathering of right-wing protesters and Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin had urged counter-protesters to stay away.
It had been canceled by organizer Amber Cummings, who encouraged supporters to stay away but said she would attend on her own.
By mid-afternoon Cummings had not appeared and left-wing protesters far outnumbered right-wing supporters.
Earlier in the day, police had set up barricades around park and checked people who entered to make sure they did not have prohibited items like baseball bats, dogs, skateboards and scarves or bandanas they could use to cover their faces.
Several people were arrested for violating rules against covering their faces or carrying items banned by authorities.
At one point, an anti-rally protester denounced a Latino man holding a “God Bless Donald Trump” sign.
“You are an immigrant,” said Karla Fonseca. “You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Several other people also yelled at the man, who said he was born in Mexico but supports Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the southern border.
Police pulled one supporter of President Donald Trump out of the park over a wall by his shirt as a crowd of about two dozen counter demonstrators surrounded him and chanted “Nazi go home” and pushed him toward the edge of the park. At least two people were detained by officers for wearing bandannas covering their faces.
Anti-rally protesters chanted slogans “No Trump. No KKK. No fascist USA” and carried signs that said: “Berkeley Stands United Against Hate.”
A separate group of counter protesters had assembled earlier Sunday at the nearby University of California, Berkeley campus and then marched park to merge with the anti-rally protesters who had already gathered there."

I just listened to a talk by Sterling W. Sill he gave in 1971. In this talk he warned that there were forces in this world that wanted to blend everybody together and make them all the same. He mentioned races, genders, people from all walks of life, cultures, and all levels of morality and beliefs. Anyway, this was not good and was inspired by Satan. Elder Sill was very firm in stating that God is a God of segregation. Judgement day is all about segregation. The Three Degrees of Glory is all about segregation. And according to the Apostle Paul, even where and when you were born was an act of segregation.
Anyway, the results of this blending would be a future with the kind of strife, conflict, crime, confusion and the stress and misery we have evident today. I mean, Elder Sill got really specific to the point where he could have written the details of todays news back then in 1971.
I love a world of many different cultures and peoples, with their history, dancing, music, food, traditions, and special holidays, etc. , AND their own homeland. All people deserve a homeland. I am sad to see all our differences and identities disappearing into one big bland homogenized world.

"Berkeley Police released mugshots Tuesday of 11 of the 13 persons arrested at Sunday’s violent political riots in the California university town.
Charges include assault with a deadly weapon, felony assault and various municipal code violations.
The rallies Sunday saw approximately 4,000 Antifa agitators and other leftists shut down a “No to Marxism” rally and prayer vigil being held by about 400 conservative Christians. The leftists took over Martin Luther King Jr. Park near the University of California Berkeley campus and beat several of the anti-Marxist protesters.
One officer was injured while making an arrest, and several others were struck with paint and bottles.
The San Francisco Chronicle, a mainstream, left-leaning newspaper, had reporters on the scene Sunday and described the rally as follows, referring to the Antifa crowd as anarchists:
“The masked counterprotesters, often referred to as antifa or antifascists, significantly outnumbered the people who had come for the rally, many of whom wore red clothing indicating support for President Trump. The anarchists chased away the right-wingers, and in one case four or five pummeled a man with fists and sticks before a radio host for Reveal, Al Letson, jumped in to shield the victim. Anarchists also attacked reporters who documented their actions.”
The average age of the 13 people arrested is 30. Clare Lopez, vice president of research and analysis for the Center for Security Policy, said the mugshots reveal that these were mostly professional agitators behind the Antifa masks, not local college kids. “With an average age of 30, those arrested during the violent Berkeley riots of Sunday 27 August do not fit the profile of the average college undergrad,” Lopez told WND. “In fact, they more closely fit the profile of professional off-campus thugs,” she said. “And once we understand that Antifa is a motley collection of Marxist-Leninist anarchists, the direct descendants of the 1920s and 1930s communist street fighters in Europe, the better we will be prepared to realise why these hoodlums so violently targeted a ‘No To Marxism’ rally. Antifa was there to defend communism and plunge America into chaos.”
War cry wish for erasure of USA. Antifa’s war cry, caught on video during the rally, was no less than the total destruction of American society. “No Trump, no wall, no USA at all!” they chanted.

Philip Haney, a retired Homeland Security officer and co-author of the book “See Something Say Nothing,” said today’s hardcore left mimics the tactics of the Islamic jihadists with whom they are allied.
“The Islamists say Islam is a religion of peace, but they won’t condemn the jihadists and attack anyone who does as Islamophobic. In the same way, the Democrats say, ‘We believe in peace, equality, diversity and inclusiveness,’ but they won’t condemn Antifa and anyone who disagrees with them politically is a fascist,” Haney said.
“These are hardcore people,” he said. “They are totally sold on this thing and willing to take it to the brink.”
Lopez said it’s also clear where their funding is coming from – the likes of George Soros-affiliated foundations, the Tides Foundation and other cash-rich foundations and NGOs.
Tom Trento, president of the United West organisation that defends Western values against Shariah and leftist aggression, posted an alert on its website Tuesday titled “Democrats: Jumping the Shark, Losing their Minds.”
“Not content with just getting high and living in squalor, the rag-tag group of disgruntled children, wearing Halloween masks, donning Marxist clothing and calling themselves, ANTIFA, have organized to such a degree that the dopey Democrat elected leaders now praise this gang of terrorists as the second coming of America’s Founding Fathers!
“We only have two problems with that arrangement. First, the Antifa scum are truly dedicated to violent overthrow of capitalism and will ‘jump-the-shark’ to use any event to shock America into listening to their disturbed voices. Second, the Democrats are endorsing this insanity, thus a full-frontal attack against the foundations of American culture, social organization and political stability is developing right before our eyes.”
James Simpson, author of “The Red-Green Axis,” said Antifa consists of a loosely affiliated network of communists, Marxists and anarchists who are anything but shy about their goals. He believes they should be declared a domestic terrorist organisation. “Communism is the polar opposite of free market capitalism. It cannot compete honestly. It thrives on envy and destroys everything it touches. Communists are the evolutionary endpoint to human depravity,” Simpson writes in an essay for Bombthrowers.com. “Even the communists themselves do not believe the ‘racist, sexist, xenophobe’ narrative they constantly spew,” he adds. “The true goal is to destroy our credibility through intimidation and shaming. The reality of this strategy is demonstrated by its history of use.”
Vladimir Lenin, the father of Soviet communism, may have been the first to lay out this strategy, Simpson said. Lenin said: “We must be ready to employ trickery, deceit, law-breaking, withholding and concealing truth. … We can and must write in a language which sows among the masses hate, revulsion, and scorn toward those who disagree with us.”

It seems to me that those boys down under and their Kiwi friends are more into Rugby than Cricket, They do a great job of kicking everybody's... well you know... at Rugby... well the Kiwis did slip a little this year this year... but they are still great at Rugby. Even as a fan of American football, I do have to recognize rugby as a sport for men... not little girls... can't say the same for cricketThe Australians.

One of the best moments in sporting history was when England beat Australia in the world cup final with a last minute drop-goal..... in Australia!
Cricket is quite another matter. New Zealand try, but never quite make the grade. The rivalry between Australia and England is intense though.
To the untrained eye cricket can seem an odd game. It's a war of endurance, attrition and cunning. Test matches (international games) last for 5 days.
I like your little ditty at the end. It reminds me of one we used to recite in the mission field:

Reminds me of our military stategy against terrorists. In order to make them love us, we're going to show overwhelming force and bomb the hell out of them. And we can't figure out why they still don't like us...
So the conflict will continue to grow - fueled by the media and "anti-hate" protestors.
We could just ignore the few haters, and share our displeasure in other ways. Instead we have to look for conflict and whip up anger. Which leads to more division. All this effort to "come together" by creating conflict fuels more conflict. Peace through war. Love through hate.
Putting people down and calling them "hater", or "bigot" for not thinking as they do - is so obviously hypocritical - it's painful to point it out when people don't see it.
True, there is a need to turn the other cheek - but I think there are times when defending truth is needed. Sometimes, Jesus did NOT turn the other cheek but called people out for being hypocrites - even when he knew they had power to hurt him and would. Jesus - "prince of peace" said he came not to send peace but a sword. I think that love is seeking to understand someone while striving for what's best for them. Sometimes it's turning the other cheek - moving on - and other times it's defending truth.
Is it really "hateful" to state facts people don't like? - Even when those facts hurt others feelings - is that hateful to share? To me, trying to share facts that could help someone make better, more informed decisions is loving.
Still, I realize that how we say it is important - and it is difficult to bless my enemies and do good to those that persecute me - but that's the other more difficult part of the challenge... to stand for truth, but with the intent to do good and bless my enemies.
