I believe the United States is losing.

Many Americans aren't even aware of the internal problems and external threats and many more don't even care.

Many Americans don't even know that we have enemies that want to destroy us and are actively waging war against us and many don't even care.

Many Americans are more concerned with electing a politician that will benefit their pocket than a statesman that will benefit their liberty. Still others don't even care.

Our system works only under a moral society and we've lost that. Again, some don't even care.

I think we're losing.

WWIII

Post by Mark »

How can we win a war in which the real enemies to Western civilization are not even recognized or understood? We are drunkards walking around in a stupor only worried about where we will satisfy our appetites and passions for power, wealth and glory. Our enemies continue to pull the wool over our eyes and distract us any time they choose. We can not win something we don't have the courage to identify and fight properly. Remember that we defeated communism with Reagan. We are fully invested in this red herring. Here is a good example in this article by Nyquist a few years back. Mr. Litvinenko was just poisoned to death last week in London. Gee I wonder why? Just read Isaiah and he will give you all the gory details.

Is Al Qaeda a Kremlin Proxy?

By J.R. Nyquist

Last month a journalist friend in Poland sent me a translation of an interview with FSB [KGB] defector Alexander Litvinenko. The following testimony, offered by Litvinenko, was published by FAKT. Alexander Valterovich Litvinenko (b. Voreonezh, 1962) served in the counterintelligence agencies of the Soviet KGB, and after 1991, as a counter-terrorism expert in the Central Staff of the MB-FSK-FSB (KGB successor organizations). In 1997 Litvinenko served in one of the most secretive departments of the Russian KGB -- the Department for the Analysis of Criminal Organizations. He was a senior operations officer and deputy head of the Seventh Section. Litvinenko defected from Russia and was granted political asylum by the United Kingdom in May 2001.

In a July 2002 article titled Ayman al-Zawahiri's Russian Adventure, I offered the following analysis: "Given Zawahiri's travels to Russia and China, given the full context of Russia's double game in Chechnya (described in last week’s column), we ought to entertain the possibility that China and Russia secretly supported the terrorists who attacked America on 9/11."

Poland's FAKT contacted Litvinenko after the London bombings last month and the following conversation was reported:

FAKT: Alexander, who, in your opinion, is the originator of this [London] terrorist attack?

A. Litvinenko: You know, I have spoken about it earlier and I shall say now, that I know only one organization that has made terrorism the main tool of solving political problems. It is the Russian special services. The KGB was engaged in terrorism for many years, and mass terrorism. At the special department of the KGB they trained terrorists from practically every country in the world. These courses lasted, as a rule, for a half-year. Specially trained and prepared agents of the KGB organized murders and explosions, including explosions of tankers, the hijacking of passenger airliners, strikes on diplomatic, state and commercial organizations worldwide.

FAKT: Could you name ... some of the terrorists prepared at the "special courses" of the KGB-FSB?

A. Litvinenko: The bloodiest terrorists in the world were or are agents of the KGB-FSB. These are well-known, like Carlos Ilyich Ramiros, nicknamed "the Jackal," the late Yassir Arafat, Saddam Hussein, Adjalan (he is condemned in Turkey), Wadi Haddad, the head of the service of external operations of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Hauyi, the head of the communist party of Lebanon, Mr. Papaionnu from the Cyprus, Sean Garland from Ireland and many others. All of them were trained by the KGB, received money from there, weapons and explosives, counterfeit documents and a communication equipment for carrying out of acts of terrorism worldwide.

FAKT: Some may object that each of the listed figures, and the forces supporting them, were engaged in solving their own political problems.

A. Litvinenko: Certainly, all these figures and movements operated under their own slogans; however, none of them especially hid their "intimate" ... relationship with the Kremlin and Lubyanka. There is a simple question: whether the Russian special services would train and finance people and groups that were not supervised by Lubyanka and did not serve the interests of the Kremlin? You understand perfectly, they would not. Each act of terrorism made by these people was carried out as an assignment and under the rigid control of the KGB of the USSR. And [the terrorism] ... is not casual after the disintegration of the USSR and [reform of the KGB]....

FAKT: Every terrorist you have named is from 'the old staff' of the KGB. Could you name someone from recent history?

A. Litvinenko: Certainly, here it is. The number two person in the terrorist organization al Qaeda, who they are crediting with the series of explosions in London, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is an old agent of the FSB. Being sentenced to death in Egypt for terrorism and hunted by Interpol, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in 1998, was in the territory of Dagestan, where for half a year he received special training at one of the educational bases of the FSB. After this training he was transferred to Afghanistan, where he had never been before and where, following the recommendation of his Lubyanka chiefs, he at once ... penetrated the milieu of bin Laden and soon became his assistant in al Qaeda.

FAKT: Could you hint at least, where this data comes from?

A. Litvinenko: I can. During my service in one of the most secret departments of the FSB, top officials from the UFSB of Dagestan, who had directly worked with Ayman al-Zawahiri ... were called to Moscow and received high posts.

FAKT: What can you say concerning the acts of terrorism in London ? From what region and with what forces was this strike directed?

A. Litvinenko: In reply to this question I can definitely say that the center of global terrorism is not in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan or the Chechen Republic. The terrorist infection is spread worldwide from Lubyanka Square and the Kremlin cabinet. And until the Russian special services are outlawed, dispersed and condemned, the terrorism will never stop: bombs will blow up and blood will be shed. Terrorism has no expiration date.... I would like to repeat, that all the terrorists, whom I have named, were supported by the heads of the Soviet and Russian special services - Yuri Andropov, Vladimir Putin, Nikolay Patrushev and others. These people are the main terrorists.... And until we condemn them ... global terrorism will continue.

Such was the FAKT interview with former FSB-KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko. Related to this, in 1998 I asked a former Russian intelligence official how Moscow might successfully pull off a surprise nuclear attack against the United States without suffering a devastating retaliation. He replied without hesitation, saying: "If you ever hear that Arab terrorists have attacked an American city with nuclear weapons don't believe it." The attack, he said, would be from Russia.

Even now I don't fully understand how a proxy WMD terrorist attack on the United States would be exploited. Exactly what is Moscow trying to achieve? What is the strategic follow-up? I was told that a mass missile strike on America would follow. I am reminded of San Renxing's recent commentary on a secret Communist Party speech about China's plans to kill 100 to 200 million Americans: "Unable to believe in the existence of such wickedness ... people would rather think the [war] 'speech' cannot be true or it's not to be believed."

I will end this commentary with a quote from the text of Viktor Suvorov's Spetsnaz.

[Widespread terrorist and sabotage operations in advance of World War III] are known officially in the GRU as the "preparatory period," and unofficially as the "overture." The overture is a series of large and small operations the purpose of which is, before actual military operations begin, to weaken the enemy's morale, create an atmosphere of suspicion, fear and uncertainty, and divert the attention of the enemy's armies and police forces to a huge number of different targets, each of which may be the object of the next attack.

The overture is carried out by agents of the secret services of the Soviet satellite countries and by mercenaries recruited by intermediaries. The principal method employed at this stage is "gray terror," that is, a kind of terror which is not conducted in the name of the Soviet Union. The Soviet secret services do not at this stage leave their visiting cards, or leave other people's cards. The terror is carried out in the name of already existing extremist groups not connected in any way with the Soviet Union, or in the name of fictitious organizations.

Here is the latest from Nyquist that I just came across. Can it be any more obvious? Why do so many close their minds to the truth of what is really going on in the world? So many red herrings to chase, so little time..

Kremlin Poison
by J. R. Nyquist

It appears that the Kremlin has attempted to assassinate Russian defector Alexander Litvinenko, whose warnings to the West have been repeatedly cited in this column.

A former lieutenant colonel of the KGB/FSB, Litvinenko wrote a book titled Blowing Up Russia: Terror From Within. During an interview with Rzeczpospolita in July 2005 he explained that al Qaeda’s number two man, Ayman al-Zawahiri was trained by the FSB (KGB) in Russia along with other al Qaeda leaders. According to Litvinenko, “[there is] only one organization which has made terrorism the main tool of solving political problems.” And that organization, he said, “is the Russian special services.” The KGB trained terrorists all over the world. “The specially trained and prepared agents of the KGB,” said Litvinenko, “have organized murders and explosions, including explosions on tankers, the hijacking of passenger jets, attacks on diplomats, as well as state and commercial organizations worldwide.” Litvinenko added: “The bloodiest terrorists of the world were or are agents of the KGB-FSB. They are well known [like] Carlos Ilyich Ramiros, nicknamed ‘the Jackal,’ the late Yassir Arafat, Saddam Hussein … [and others].” According to Litvinenko, “All of them were trained by the KGB, received money from there, weapons and explosives….”

It is being reported that Litvinenko was poisoned with thallium, described by the Telegraph (UK) as a colorless and odorless liquid “that is often used to kill rats.” The poisoning occurred in London while Litvinenko was gathering information on the assassination of Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya. Litvinenko has argued that Chechen terrorism is a KGB-inspired provocation used to legitimize Putin’s dictatorship, and that Russia is pretending to fight terrorism with one hand while guiding it with the other. A man brave enough to risk his life to warn others, to lay an accusation against the most dangerous criminals in the world, deserves to be taken seriously. But the fact that his message has been systematically ignored, that no newspaper or politician will discuss his testimony concerning Ayman al-Zawahiri, is a sociological artifact of great significance. The Kremlin’s grand deception strategy has been effective, and there is no danger that the West will figure it out, because the truth is economically inconvenient for politicians and businessmen alike. Things have advanced so far that the Kremlin sees no danger in murdering people outright, as in the days of Stalin. In this way a message is sent to all writers, and all those with bits and pieces of the great puzzle.

The Russian strategy should be obvious by now. We know that China and Iran are being armed with Russian weapons – including Russian nuclear technology. Such moves deserve an explanation, but nobody wants an honest discussion of the problem. Given the economic logic of U.S. statesmanship, a confrontation with Russia is to be avoided. The Left/Right political divide paralyzes any and all realistic analysis because one side of this political divide is incapable of acknowledging a Russian threat while the other has attached itself to claims of victory and the prospect of “open” markets in “former” communist lands. We know that Russia is working to form various alliances with countries like Brazil, India, Venezuela, etc. We know that Russia and China have formed an intimate partnership, that they have conducted joint military exercises, and that China has been cultivating Mexico as a strategic partner. The balance of power is shifting, perhaps decisively, and the results of that shift may soon become apparent to everyone. The Iranian nuclear crisis serves to dramatize this shift. Three years ago President Bush would have bombed Iran. Today he is timid, hesitant and beleaguered. Many of the president’s supporters have turned against him. Perhaps President Bush realizes that a preemptive attack on Iran will divide the United States politically, with further consequences to the Republican Party.

Looking back at the long row of fallen dominoes, from South Africa and the Congo to Venezuela and Germany, the fall of the Israeli domino stands in prospect. The Israelis believe the neutralization of Iran’s nuclear project is essential to Israel’s security. Israeli analysts are already warning that Iran could destroy Israel without launching a single nuclear weapon, because many Israelis will leave Israel if Iran becomes a nuclear power. The morale of the Jewish state would suffer a crippling blow. But the plight of Israel does not move the American public. Just as the American consumer abandoned Vietnam to the Communists, some believe that Israel will be abandoned to the Islamists. Many observers expect that the Americans will not remain loyal to their allies, choosing instead to “cut and run” when things become difficult. After all, it was the Americans who abandoned Southeast Asia. It was the Americans who pushed for the Communist takeover of Rhodesia, and the Communist-ANC takeover of South Africa; and who allowed the Communist victories in Angola and Congo. The African Communists have won the long war for the mineral rich sub-Saharan region. And the Americans don’t care in the least. In fact, we are about to watch the United States Congress cut the legs out from under the government of Colombia as it struggles to contain a growing Communist insurgency.

The suicide of the West is happening before our eyes. From the assassination of Anna Politkovskaya to the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko, from the fall of South Africa to the electoral victory of Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua, the same old Communists continue to kill their enemies as they advance from victory to victory. The KGB rules Russia openly, flooding China with weapons, encouraging Iran’s nuclear ambitions, arming Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan, subverting the Western alliance through economics, neutralizing Germany by way of German unification, undermining NATO as one Warsaw Pact country after another joins under false democratic colors. Do the Americans have eyes? Do they have sense?

Yesterday American strategy was based on a false victory. Today the logic of retreat takes hold as the party of retreat takes Congress. In terms of Iran’s WMDs, American politicians see no other choice than to sacrifice Israel to the “peace process.” It will prove to be a slow and grinding death, similar to that of white South Africa. The grim prospect is so real that former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already compared his country’s fate to that of Czechoslovakia (sold out to appease Hitler). The West will do nothing to punish Vladimir Putin for assassinating and intimidating journalists, for poisoning Alexander Litvinenko. The West will do nothing about the Iranian bomb. The Americans will eventually leave Iraq, and America’s cities will be attacked by nuclear weapons. In this sequence one failure leads to another. Weakness, lack of resolve, stupidity and incompetence add up to defeat.

From outward appearances it would seem that the old Soviet Union has returned. A thing crucified, dead and buried has been resurrected. Four weeks after Vladimir Putin’s re-election, a procession led by the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church arrived at the Church of Christ the Redeemer in Moscow. In keeping with ancient tradition the doors of the church were shut, symbolizing the sealed cave where Christ’s body was placed following crucifixion. “After midnight,” noted Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, “the Orthodox faithful taking part in the procession await the opening of the church doors. The patriarch stands on the steps at their head and is the first to enter the empty temple where the Resurrection of Christ has already occurred.” In due course the Patriarch offered up a prayer, the doors of the Church of Christ the Redeemer were opened and out stepped President Vladimir Putin. If any Christians were present for this ceremony they offered no protest to this blatant sacrilege. The woman who reported this event for the benefit of Western readers has since been assassinated. The KGB defector who was investigating the circumstances of her death has been poisoned (i.e., Litvinenko). The West thinks it an amusing spy story, something out of fiction. But the situation is hardly amusing. As Russian dissident Yuri Yarim-Agaev recently explained to Jamie Glazov of Frontpagemag.com, “That in foreign policy, the U.S. remains for them [Russia] enemy number one, and that they would support anyone who tries to undermine American power whether it be North Korea, Iran, you name it. That in domestic policy they consider their major enemies democracy, human rights, and the free market, and they will try to suppress them by all means, and the bring back under their control most parts of the former Soviet Union.”

Russia is a big player, despite what we’ve been told about “the fall of communism.” The Kremlin now acts boldly, in the open, so that every Russian understands. It is a case of terrorism. It is a case of instilling fear. Writers are being killed, and now intelligence defectors have been targeted. Decisive cards are being played, and the international press, the public and many politicians are clueless.

Sorry in advance for this Mark but...:

"Ayman al-Zawahiri was trained by the FSB (KGB) in Russia along with other al Qaeda leaders"

Was this before or after the CIA trained them?

I understand your line of thinking here Pitchfire but do you really believe that these Al Qaeda terrorists were trained by the CIA with the purpose of facilitating the destruction of western civilization?

Hi Mark,

As always, it's good to hear from you.

Since we're back on the topic of which is worse - Russia/Communism lurking vs. other struggles in America, I have a new question for you. Who/what is the most serious threat?

A friend and I were talking the other day about the current events of the world compared to the scriptures. We came up with the following (of course these are just our opinions only, so take it for what it's worth).

From the Bible:
Robbers - Terrorists
Kingdom of the South - Middle East Union (led by Iran)
Kindgom of the North - European Union (led by Germany)
People of the East - China
Gog/Magog - Russia

From the Book of Mormon:
Lamanites amongst the Gentiles like a Lion amongst the Sheep - Latin/South Americans amongst United States Citizens
The Secret Combination - Worldwide conspiracy (international bankers, etc.)

From Joseph Smith:
Constitution hanging by a thread - North American Union

Given these thoughts, I come back to my question--it's not that I don't think Russia/Communism is a threat, but is it the most critical threat right now to us in the United States?

Of course feel free to agree/disagree on my thoughts above about the various world players--I'm not saying that I'm right on all my conclusions, just saying that there are definitely a lot of players involved and who/what should be our biggest worry?

My personal opinion is that Russia is more than willing to wait in the wings until the United States weakens itself further vs. actually doing something from a military standpoint anytime soon.

Then I come back to hoping that we can change things internally whether through a political change (probably not likely) or through fixing things quickly after other calamaties happen. And if we can make the appropriate changes, then hopefully Russia will never be able to completely implement their plans here in the U.S (I think they will do some bad stuff worldwide--i.e. Gog & Magog related prophecies, but hope that we in America will make an appropriate change to where they won't be successful here).

I guess my main opinion is still that I acknowledge that Russia is a threat, but I still think the more critical focus needs to be on the American people internally vs. worrying about Russia so much.

I look forward to your (and others') response.

We covered a similar topic on another thread. I happen to believe that there are many facets to one plan, and that is Satan's. Satan has led world leaders around the globe to seek not just power of their own, but of the earth. Some of these power seekers are united in their purpose of crushing us, but each hopes to come out on top. Globalists, communists, world police power seekers are here at home in the good old US of A. Our biggest threat in my opinion is the one at home, the one who doesn't openly hate us, but secretly does. Only the ones here at home have power to change public opinion, break down society and weaken us to a point where we'll welcome instead of fight much of the change. Without weakening us we are too strong, and with the power of the Lord none can defeat us. Satans goal is to have our souls, as I've said, not to kill us. He doesn't want us to die in reighteousness, he wants us in his camp. The best way for him to do that is to destroy us beginning at the family level. Our biggest threat is inside.

I think you're right on the robbers and kingdom on South, yet after reading Daniel 11 again, I'm pretty sure ...

verses 1-4 - refer ro USSR
Kingdom of the North - Russia (leading European Union?)
verse 18 - Russia mobilizes forces onto US
verses 21-24 - rise of Gog from Northern Kingdom (Russia)
verse 31 - abomination that maketh desolate set upon Israel (nuke?)
verses 36-37 - reminds me of 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

It seems that Gog will rise up and overpower the leaders of the Secret Combinations. It also seems to me that this massive kingdom of the North led by Gog may also comprise China.

Also from Daniel 12:
1,260 days is how long Gog speaks blasphemies in Jerusalem (Rev 11-13)
1,290 days after abomination that maketh desolate is some special event ... is this when the dead arise in Daniel 12:1-3?
1,335 days is another very special event

You could very well be right on Russia, but I'm still curious on where Germany fits into all of this. We know what they did in World War I & II; they are on the rise again currently economically, politically and militarily; next year (2007) they get to take the lead in the European Union; and they have some other interesting ties to that other big religion out there.

So although I can see Russia hovering in the background ready to "rise again", I'm still curious about Germany and of course the timing on everything else.

Could the first Kingdom of the North by a Germany led EU and Gog/another Northern Kingdom be Russia rising up a little later??

That is a good question on Germany. If Daniel chapter 11 covers a timespan that goes back to WW2 and before, then Germany is the most logical application. In Daniel 12, Daniel asks how long all these things be, and it was answered him time, times, and a half (3.5 years).

There are only three reasons I think it's Russia:
1- fall and rise of USSR / Communist Russia, and I suspect communism will be the mobilized political weapon of the Secret Combinations & adversary. Russia is also developing at a unprecedented rate, like China.
2- prophecies of Russia and China invading the USA (verse 18 about going after isles of the sea)
3- Gog will come from Russia

Whether it's Russia or Germany that leads the northern nations, I believe it will be 10 nations united (Rev 13), and not long after will be led by Gog.

Yes I think the first Northern Kingdom could be a Germany-led EU, and if those first few verses doesn't represent either WW2 or fall of USSR, only time will tell ;)
