Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

JaredDBees, D&C 88 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you who have assembled yourselves together to receive his will concerning you: 2 Behold, this is pleasing unto your Lord, and the angels rejoice over you; the alms of your prayers have come up into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, and are recorded ...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

CelestialAngel, What's the point of being a high priest then if it's not necessary to our salvation? What is the point of being a Bishop, a seventy, a Patriarch, or an Apostle, if it is not necessary for our salvation? God has different intentions and callings for each of us, The only thing that is ...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Stahura, Maybe you should read past posts more carefully before you pontificate. I carefully asked Finrock Before I respond to this, would you be so kind as to answer the 2nd part of the question. Can a man in the year 2017, be Ordained a HP by God or the Holy Spirit WITHOUT being ordained by a man ...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Finrock, I understand that you believe these are heresies and I respect your opinion on this. Our religion allows us to believe and worship God according to the dictates of our own conscience. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints doesn't believe in dogma or creeds. I know there are member...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Finrock, I understand that you believe that I'm not teaching Church doctrine and I respect your opinion. All are free to believe or not to believe. We can all search out the scriptures, pray and ask God and get answers for ourselves. As an aside: Denver and what he teaches is irrelevant and has noth...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

AI2.0 ***Once again you are not relating the LDS doctrinal position on this, you are relating your own interpretation--which is actually the same view as Denver Snuffer, (which may be why Jared agrees with you). Thanks for picking up on this. You are much more clear and eloquent than I am. So if Fin...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Finrock, ll I know is the general principle which is that a High Priest is one who is called and ordained by God and this is done through the Holy Spirit of Promise. It is also true that no ordinance, covenant, or contract is valid in the eternities unless it has been sealed by the Holy Spirit of Pr...

JaredBees, Your seeing alot of RED George. We live to receive the holy priesthood from God that it might be active ---and for the Holy Spirit to inspire and ratify. If I'm not mistaken this is what Finrock --- simply is sharing with you. I'm at peace with that construct / reality. My encouragement t...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

CelestAngel,
So does it matter if I become a High Priest or remain an Elder forever?
No,

There is no blessing nor personal progress that you are limited from by being an Elder!

Finrock, I guess you can't handle straightforward questions. I mean what could be more straightforward than Am I a High Priest or not? Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Finrock,

You sure vomit a lot of words to never answer direct questions.

Am I a High Priest or not?

Should be pretty simple.

Did Peter James and John restore anything when they ordained Joseph Smith? What was it?

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Finrock, A true High Priest is called by God and ordained by God. They are essentially the same. When the Spirit seals something, it is done. No matter how many men lay their hands on your head and ordain you a High Priest, it is eternally meaningless unless God lays His hands on your head and seals...

Re: What's a good age to become a high priest?

Finrock, While both statements are problematic, it is hard to nail it down, because your illogic slithers around like Jello. So are you saying; 1) that God goes around ordaining High priests himself? or 2) That High Priests must be ordained by one who holds the keys but that Ordination is not valid ...

CelestAngel, You are an elder until you are called to a leadership council. What if you're never called? Re: Wealth Must Be Created Before We Can Give It To the Poor

drtanner, Yes, there are people who think it's all one great giant pie, to be divided equally, each and every gets an "equal piece" and that's the end of it. It really isn't that simple, but of course, the distortion of alcohol may lead people to believe it is . It's a lot more complicated than that...

drtanner, Yup. It is interesting how many scriptural references that there are that God's way isn't some God socialism with equality of outcome, rather than actually being an eternity, where all are encouraged to maximize their opportunity to become more like him. whether your example of Job, or Chr...

Re: Wealth Must Be Created Before We Can Give It To the Poor

spaced_out, I think there is a perverted sense of equality relating to Zion. Even in heaven there are many mansions which are inherited according to our works on earth - not all are equal in heaven. If you want the Lord to minimally fulfill his promise of blessings, pay net, If you want him to be more generous than minimum, pay gross. And use that as a guide for fulfilling all commandments, and performing all services.

Choices, Compound interest, and why there is no equal Glory in the Celestial Kingdom

I know an elderly woman, who apparently went through some tough times and poor choices in her youth. She was married 3 times, probably one of her children was not fathered by any of the husbands. During some of the chaos, the children were farmed out to relatives, and some of them were apparently se...
