YOUR RIGHT TO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Post by LdsMarco »

Of course, it’s hard to give examples of every situation you’ll encounter regarding religious freedom, because they’ll be different with each person you interact with. But if you start looking for them in the news and in your everyday interactions, you’ll find that examples are everywhere. Just think about how the situations you see, hear about, or experience would be affected if people didn’t have freedom to live according to what really matters to them (so long as it doesn’t harm the health and safety of others), as established in the First Amendment. Then prepare now to know what you’ll do the next time you’re given a chance to protect religious freedom. https://www.lds.org/religious-freedom/examples" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Islam is not too weak to defend themselves. In fact they are on a very strong drive to destroy all other religions.
Islam is not a religion. It is a political system.
We will lose our religious freedom to Islam if we are not ready, willing and able to fight to the death to defend OUR OWN religious freedom from a blood thirsty attack by Islam.

Religious freedom isn't only a natural right granted by God, it is a sign of what ideas or philosophies God is behind. Freedom of action, or agency, is the chief gift He has given us above all other things. There is nothing so important that He has ever, or will ever, rob or curtail our agency. If necessary He will use force to stop us, but He will never actually take our freedom to act as we choose.

- The Church grants us freedom to choose its path or our own path. It doesn't stop us from making terrible life decisions, but it does tell us how to avoid them if we wish.
- The U.S. Constitution protects our right to our own success or our own failure.

If you compare any missionary who offers the Gospel to any protestor, special interest bully, or terrorist, the contrast becomes stark.

It appears to me that the religious freedom of LDS people and the LDS Church is already being infringed upon. A major tenet of the LDS faith, --"a part of the doctrine of the Latter-day Saints, as much a part as any other tenet of their religion, that the Lord Himself "established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood", and that this Constitution "should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles." It is also a tenet of our faith that "The Lord has warned repeatedly against the evils and designs of conspiring men in our day who would enslave us.", and that we have a duty to "Waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them;..." And yet I have been given to understand that the Church leadership does not teach these things any longer primarily out of concern that doing so would bring retribution against it that would disrupt its missionary and building efforts.

Or are they just trying to be "politically correct"? Or are they trying to be neutral?
The left has swung so far to the left today that neutral or in the center is still way to the left.
But you are right, the lessons of the past are being lost, and our most important basis in the temporal world, the Constitution is suffering from major erosion, in some cases already completely washed away. And so many in the church say and do nothing.
