Rod Meldrum - Highland UT Friday June 1st @ 7:00pm

Postby BrianM » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:39 am

From my friends in Highland...

We're pleased that Rod L. Meldrum will be coming to speak to us this month about "the Promised Land". Bro. Meldrum will address the Prophecies and Promises of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, DNA research and the new “Heartland Model” proposed geography which has grown from this prophetic foundation as relates to the setting of Book of Mormon.

When: Friday June 1st @ 7:00pm
Location: Old Highland City Building on the NW corner of 10400 North and the Alpine Highway in Highland.

This is an exciting topic. I've reviewed much of Rod's materials and find them to be energizing. I would highly recommend this to everyone who is interested in learning of the latest evidences in support of the Book of Mormon as a true historical and spiritual record.

Please bring a camp/folding chair if you are coming late. We have been full to capacity the last couple of times and I hope we have the same problem next Friday.

Thanks,

Dan

About Rod Meldrum:

Mr. Meldrum has published several books and informational DVD’s which have been seen by tens of thousands of members of the Church around the country with overwhelmingly positive response. He began his research on issues surrounding the controversy over DNA in 2003, which resulted in finding evidence supportive of Book of Mormon prophecies of the “remnant of the house of Israel” on “the Promised Land.” This led to questioning proposed geographic settings for the Book of Mormon in Central America because of the absence of DNA evidence of Israelite lineages there. However, a genetic lineage known as haplogroup X has been discovered in both ancient and modern Native Americans in North America that is also found worldwide in both ancient and modern Jewish populations.

This presentation will cover the following:
An overview of the Prophecies and Promises, Joseph Smith and DNA research and the new “Heartland Model” proposed geography which has grown from this prophetic foundation.

Additional topics he will touch on:
Has Lehi’s ocean voyage now been discovered and substantiated? For the first time since the publication of the Book of Mormon there is direct, incontrovertible evidence supporting its claim of a voyage from the Saudi Arabian peninsula to the Americas. A recently completed oceanic expedition in a 600 B.C. wooden sailing ship has provided astounding new understandings for Lehi’s voyage to the Americas. It was patterned after remnants of ancient Phoenician ships, known to have made the first circumnavigations of Africa in the same era as the voyage of Lehi of the Book of Mormon. Could this modern voyage provide profound insights into the Book of Mormon’s ancient history?

How large (or small) were the lands of the Book of Mormon? You will see a comparison between the two prevailing Book of Mormon geography theories (Heartland and Mesoamerica) contrasted with the route thought to have been taken by Lehi’s family down the Saudi Arabian peninsula.

What caused the destruction at the time of Christ? Was the destruction written of in the Book of Mormon caused by a volcanic eruption as has been speculated by some Mormon scholars, or is there another explanation? Amazing new research has uncovered incredible parallels between the eye-witness accounts of the Book of Mormon prophets and the eye-witness observations of those who suffered through the largest series of earthquakes in the heartland of America in 1811 and 1812. Together we will compare the scriptural account with the History Channels Earthquake in the Heartland documentary and authoritative accounts by those who were there.

Ancient Hebrew Verified in America’s Heartland! Only a few months ago a stone, that was recovered in an official Smithsonian Institution archaeological dig in 1889 in a Hopewell burial mound in Tennessee, was scientifically verified to have an ancient Hebrew inscription carved into its surface. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) examination was performed by American Petrographic Services at the McClung Museum on the campus of the University of Tennessee and their conclusions are revolutionary. This is the first artifact ever recovered and scientifically verified to have ancient Hebrew writing anywhere in the Americas, and it came from a Hopewell mound that dates it to Book of Mormon time frames!
All my opinions are tentative pending further data...

Brian, might your friends in Highland have a link to an article on this Hebrew artifact? Sounds fascinating.

Reminds me of the Bat Creek inscription, etc.

Thanks ahead of time.
