When obedience ceases to be an irritation and becomes a quest, we are then endowed with power!

This doesn't seem to generate much interest in this here part of Arizona. I see it as further opportunity to bring the Church out of obscurity.

I just found it very weird. I thought that between the city creek disagreements from those obsessed with the WTC conspiracies that this would ring odd and create some sort of anxiety.

No, but I do think it weird "the management" decided to give that name to the building. Also surprised there has not been cries of blasphemy for giving that name to anything but what went down in NYC....

I agree, very peculiar. Almost disrespectful.

Not sure that sits well with me. Seems very disrespectful to those who died or suffered loss in that horrific event.

As my mother would say, they are rolling in their graves right now.

Ditto. Almost every city in Asia has a "World Trade Center." I'm assuming most major cities have something with that name. It's been a common practice for quite some time.

That said, it sure does seem worldly and Mammon-y, but it is probably a good financial investment and/or something to be proud about.

Only if you are the Utah/SLC Chamber of Commerce, or have/are employed by a business located there....(IMO)

I should have added a sigh at the end of my comment... :ymsigh: It's one thing for the city to want to market itself as an international caliber city; it's strange to me that the church is initiating these giant steps toward being worldly/world-class (however you want to characterize it). Maybe they have good justifications like some greater purpose in the long run... Etc... :ymsigh:

Much like hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics....
brought great exposure to the Church, and to Utah...and helped bring a lot of outside investment/companies/people into state...

Maybe we LDS weren't becoming worldly enough for the Lord's timetable, and he inspired our leaders with a few nudges here and there, so there will be that 10 virgins split... :D
