Ron Paul is the only REAL alternative!
Have fun with it!
Time magazine called Wead an insider in the Bush family orbit and "the man who coined the phrase 'Compassionate Conservative.'"[9] George W. Bush first picked up the term “Compassionate Conservative” in 1987 from Wead.[10] In 1979, Wead gave a speech titled “The Compassionate Conservative” at the annual Charity Awards Dinner, and tapes of the speech were later sold across the country at corporate seminars.[11]
Baker’s chapter titled “The Conversion” features startling revelations that challenge the well-known narratives of the Bush family’s religious history— including the way they crafted a strategy for winning over the religious right, and the creation of a conversion legend for George W. Bush. The purpose of the latter was not only to position him as a religious and political man of his time, but to neutralize the many issues from his past that threatened to undermine his future in politics (and possibly that of his father as well). The plan probably worked far better than anyone could have hoped. “I’m still amazed,” Doug Wead, a key architect of the Bush family’s evangelical outreach strategy told Baker, “how naïve so many journalists are who have covered politics all of their life.”

Not true. They will be kicked out of the celestial kingdom unless they embrace the true principles of liberty, because their source is God, and you don't live with him unless you agree with him.Fairminded wrote:jeanpierre wrote:I wonder when, if ever, most Mormons will wake up and realize that Ron Paul has been espousing and promoting the princples that they, as Latter-day Saints, should be pushing. If ever
My guess is that one.

Here you go again, looking at names and not principles! You are blind, and forever will remain blind because of this. According to this foolish logic even Joseph Smith is no good because he was a Mason! You are truly blind! Principles! Principles of Liberty speak the truth, and you are clueless of what they actually are! Therefore your foolishness is not surprising.
Principles, my friend, PRINCIPLES and actions. These are the only true criteria.

Do you have the moral right to point a gun at your neighbor and force him not to drink alcohol or consume drugs? If the answer is No, as it ought to be, you cannot ask the government to do it in your behalf, because the ONLY legitimate authority it has is derived by delegation from you, and you cannot delegate an authority you do not have. (The Benson Principle.)Legion wrote:Speaking of true principles....what's the stand on Prohibition or drug laws?

So called "drug war" is much more devastating than the drugs themselves! (Incidentally, the biggest supporters of anti-drag legislation are the drug cartels, as it is the government prohibition that puts money into drugs, whereas if drugs were not illegal, they would have been dirt cheap, thus ending the violence. As it is well said: "Take the money out of drugs, and you will have taken the violence out of drug war.") It is the immoral use of government force, that created the drug war, and the government likes it, because it uses this immoral war as a pretext to destroy liberty. (They even use this logic to outlaw drinking or sale of raw milk! Have you seen the SWAT raids on raw milk farmers? This is the corrupt and immoral logic in operation.)
President Marion G. Romney tells of this incident which happened to him:
“I remember years ago when I was a bishop I had President Heber J. Grant talk to our ward. After the meeting I drove him home … Standing by me, he put his arm over my shoulder and said: ‘My boy, you always keep your eye on the President of the Church and if he ever tells you to do anything, and it is wrong, and you do it, the Lord will bless you for it.’ Then with a twinkle in his eye, he said, ‘But you don’t need to worry. The Lord will never let his mouthpiece lead the people astray.’” (Conference Report, October 1960, p. 78.)
