I trust that anybody that gives it a serious study will find that it is mostly correct and reconciles the many statements that the prophets and scriptures hold for us as well as much of what people have experienced in dreams and visions (And your sons, and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions. And your old men shall dream dreams). I don't see how it contradicts one point of doctrine and in fact is a great reconciliation of all the doctrine I could find and all the BS....

"Every year (like most people) I take some time to reflect on what has occurred during this last year and what may occur this next year. As part of this, I try to put things into their respective contexts. Of course, the context that concerns me the most is how much longer before the time of collapse and chaos and the 13 month war that quickly follows it.

I have been trying to determine if my estimation on timing has changed. After spending weeks going over everything.... it almost boils down to two points of view: Basically, you have Joel Skousen reporting that the attack by Russia/China/North Korea on the US is being planned for sometime after 2010. (Joel bases his analysis by his extensive evaluation of governmental activities around the world and I believe his analysis to be correct.) On the other side... you have the spiritual side, dreams/visions/etc., indicating that the attack may come sooner...within 4-5 years.

It is important to note that both camps...agree on what is about to happen, and why and how... they only disagree slightly on the timing.

Let me mention four major parts of the spiritual side that occupy my thoughts:

1. George A. Smiths vision. According to Pres Smith (adamantly attested to in writing and in public by brother Horn), The nuclear attack happens at the very end of a presidential election year. The next two are 2008-2012. It happens after a person of Greek extraction is elected. No such person has declared himself a candidate yet...nor is such a person on the radar screen at this time...but the 2008 election is still 2 ½ years away and lots of things can happen.

2. President Hinckley and his reference to the 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of increasing famine. 7 years from Oct 2005... is Oct 2012. The question is whether that refers to all the world and the ending of all wars (including both the 13 month world war and the 3 ½ years of the Armageddon War) OR... just primarily the righteous getting past the 13 month world war.

I believe that it means primarily the 13 month war...and my reasons are as follows:
A. The armageddon war is centered/located in Israel (not the whole world) and is focused on the Jews (not the church membership and general righteous).
B. However, the 13 month war is all over the world...(and is particularly deadly in America) and kills approximately 1/3 of the earths population. One of the stated main weapons of this war is the use of famines throughout the world.
C. After the 13 month war...the famines for the righteous will be over. Let me explain: The main stated purpose of this 13 month war is to destroy the righteous (the Christians) and especially their stronghold countries (primarily America and England) so that the gadiantons can control the whole world without much opposition. However, it does not fully succeed ...because of God's intervention and the establishment of New Jerusalem/Zion in America...after the miraculous defeat of the Gadianton's armies (Russian/Chinese/Allies) in America. After the end of this 13 month war....the famine in America is over, and the righteous (who flee from all over the world to gather to Zion) have food and safety (peace). And so for the righteous (except for the Jews) the famines are over within a short period of time after the 13 month war.

3. Sarah Menet... the war, or at least the nuclear exchange part of the war, begins unexpectedly by Iran firing a nuclear missile from Libya at Israel. Iran already has the ICBM with the range to do the job. Iran will have the nuclear capability by the end of this year. Even if Israel or the US attacks their nuclear processing plant, it would probably only halt them from making many nuclear weapons. But, despite such a setback...it would be very easy for them (they have lots of oil money) to get one or two nuclear warheads for the sneak attack on Israel...by the end of 2008.

4. Secondary and Terciary spiritual sources...are grouped into this category and include:
A. The personal spiritual insights and feelings of many I know and trust, including several who post on this website.

B. Ken Smith's recent posting of a comment by brother Pederson. I know brother Pederson... he was my backdoor neighbor for a year in AF. Our family has had some very spiritual experiences with him, with the gift of prophecy involved. If Ken is reporting correctly....Brother Pederson indicated that he felt the war would happen within 4-5 years. He also indicated that this would happen after a period of time wherein a large, sudden increase in Church membership occurred. This is the second time I have heard about this sudden increase in membership. The first being from Cleon Skousen 4 years ago recounting some personal conversations he had with his friend President Gordon B. Hinckley about the cleansing of America as described in 3rd Nephi. (More about this later. This is also mentioned in the Cardston vision.)

C. Wolfgram's comments about the war and the economic collapse that precedes the war to a friend of mine when she received a personal blessing from him. (She even questioned him about it afterwards.) The economic collapse starts in 2007 (the 3rd year of the 2nd term of the son of George Bush). Such an economic collapse....would give the elections away from the Republicans to the Democrats...or possibly an unexpected 3rd party candidate. ( It is very possible that somehow Hilliary Clinton will not be the front runner for the Democrats. Probably from some new revelation, expose, criminal charges, etc. which will become public and knock her suddenly out of the race...leaving it open for the Greek extraction surprise candidate. )


Is there a way to logically reconcile the two opinions...so that they agree? I believe so. The Russians and Chinese are preparing for a war. They want to have absolute superiority to insure their ultimate success and believe that they will be ready sometime after 2010. What if the surprise nuclear attack by Iran on Israel triggers the war a year or two earlier than they are actually planning? Once nuclear weapons start flying...anything goes. I believe that this could be the case.

AND SO... BOTTOM LINE.... I believe that we must be prepared for the war at the end of 2008. This means we must be prepared ASAP....because 2006 will be very ugly as far as natural disasters (worse than 2005...perhaps including a major tsunami/earthquake for California?); the price of everything...food, electricity, gasoline, etc...will continue to rise; real estate/housing construction downturn (increasing unemployment); and wickedness (especially ala sodom and gomorah) will become even more rampant. 2007...will be even worse with probably a general stock market collapse (ala the great depression) happening later in the year. Remember, the collapse into utter chaos happens in 2008....BEFORE THE WAR COMES TO THE US...perhaps just before the election happens. "

This seems to me more like that was (symbolic - inclusive of many units of time) just the angels' length of time spent in preparing to slay 1/3 of men...rather than the duration of a another war of mankind...

Welcome, Esmekker. The variety of opinions here can be startling at times. I do think that if/when the missionaries are called home, we'll be in for the ride of our lives.

I know that the Book of Revelation is full of symbolism. But if it was all symbolic we all would have a very hard time knowing when we see these things occur. So I believe that much of what we think of as symbolic in Revelation is actually literal. We just haven't seen or recognized it yet. But we also have to remember when John saw modern warfare he didn't have the words to describe what he saw. So he had to use representative words, or, in other words, what we would call symbols. But if you look closely at his description of the locusts coming out of the smoke in a war which lasts 5 months where hardly anyone is hurt in Revelation 9:4-6, it sure appears to me (and many others) this was describing the Desert Storm war in pretty good detail.

Note, that war was John's 5th woe. The 6th woe is the 13 month war described in second half of chapter 9. This war will kill a third part of men according to verse 18. The size of all of the armies involved is 200,000,000. That is bigger than all armies combined today. But since China and Russia use conscription to gather their armies, this can and will happen quickly. The only thing which can kill 1/3 of all mankind in a short 13 months is a worldwide nuclear war. According to BRM "atomic holocausts...surely shall be". So I contend that there is much in Revelation which is not symbolic. I would prefer to call his wording "imaginative".

Checked your site. A few interesting points to be sure, but I thought it would be extremely difficult to get a mag 8 quake in Utah. A 7.5 I could see coming. I would be more worried about a 9 in Mexico or California.

The United States is not going to go down with lots of nukes in my opinion. Three or four nukes launched and exploded at high altitude would be more than sufficient, that coupled with famine and bad economic conditions
