Not by a long shot.
LIT, I can see why you are on this forum. This is absolutely your forte. Endless arguing in definitely your bag. And man are you good at it.
Not to mention the king of sarcasm and vicious attacks. I have come to laugh endlessly at what you come up with. Its really quite amazing.
I wish you could channel that energy into something productive. Seriously. Its either a gift or a curse. I'm not sure which one.
I've been studying about sarcastic people, here's what I've learned:
Notice how the sarcastic person's mood is. Sometimes people become sarcastic when they're irritated, scared, or having a bad day, and other times they do it when they are surrounded by people.
Respond in a civil manner, even if you think they've insulted you. Try and reverse the thing they've said and turn it on them, as it makes them look like the weak one. If it's someone you are trying to help stop being a hurtful sarcastic person have a way to let them know.
Repeat what they say to you, if they continuously insult you.
Sarcastic people really don't care, at all. Try not to be the first to insult, because they will respond with a snappy comeback.
Tone is crucial when you talk with these people; do not sound agitated or you'll just keep them going.
If you know a specific person is sarcastic, stay away from them.
Here are some tips for you.
HOW TO STOP BEING SARCASTIC!
Think before you type. It's all very well to say that you will, but it isn't that easy. Try to imagine how you would respond if someone said these things to you. Determine what it is specifically that you are trying to say and say it directly. Sarcasm is often a way of communicating hurt feelings or disapproval.
Find out what triggers you to be sarcastic Then either avoid those situations or find another way to respond. Practice appropriate responses in private.
Things you are about to say should be ALL of the following: 1. True, 2. Kind and 3. Necessary. If what you are about to say does not meet all three of those catagories, then DON'T say it. (Scarcasm NEVER meets all three) If you stick to that list when you type, you can't go wrong.
I hope this helps you in some way. I think you could become a much nicer person with a little practice. There is no need to insult me the way you do! But what the heck, if you can't stop, knock yourself out!
