Shame on the Maine GOP

OI, NYTimes (I know, I know) is reporting this:

State Republicans said they considered the results of the straw poll final. However, Washington County, in the easternmost part of the state, postponed its caucus after a snowstorm was forecast there. The Washington County G.O.P. Chair, Chris Gardner, said his county would conduct the straw poll at its caucuses and will report the results to the state.

All if this will be moot unless Mr. Paul is able to make up 194 votes in the county.

Based on how the county voted in 2008, that seems unlikely. Just 113 votes total were cast in the county in 2008, and only 8 of those were for Mr. Paul. John McCain, instead, won the plurality.

If this is the case, why does Washington County even matter? If this is the case, then they didn't cancel it because they feared a win. Thoughts?

That's an interesting point. It will be interesting to see how many votes were cast this time, I guess that would determine if it is even relevant. I still don't like votes not being counted. Caucuses are the only ones that still hand count, and it bothers me when even the hand counts are "adjusted".

Not in reality. I really do not want to engage you in the NDAA or TARP issue. It does not change my mind. You don't have to support this kind of measure, its your choice. What are you going to do if Mitt Romney is elected?

By your logic, you should be supporting Obama. He leads everyone in the polls, so why isn't Romney doing better?

...then I would be a little more sympathetic to you not wanting to engage on these important matters. You are right to call out people on "1st grade comments," but then you turn around and a make a few yourself. You want to come on here and defend Mitt Romney--great! We've got a few here and could use some more to balance out the discussion. But there is nothing inherently wrong with me b/c I disagree with you, nor am I a mad dog, and vice versa. I happen to be very concerned about the erosion of civil liberties, the very basic ones we've struggled to maintain and regain for hundreds of years. This forum is a marketplace of ideas, and we bump up against each other and our ideas are challenged, and hopefully we learn something for our benefit from each other in the process.

The reason I asked for your own articulation is because I want to know how you, in your mind, get from A to B---not necessarily so I can bait you or attack you, but so I can understand where you are coming from. OI, in his post, asked for you for discussion on policy from a constitutional standpoint, but your copy and paste reply didn't address it one iota. That was a little frustrating...but, then, maybe you were trying to respond directly in the post you lost. In any event, I'd really love to hear your rationale on why you support Romney, and I really don't mind copy and paste from other authors, but I didn't find any relevance to the questions being asked in the post you submitted.

What am I going to do if Romney is elected? If you're referring to him being the nominee, I will not vote for him. If you'd like to convince me otherwise, I'd love to hear it. If he wins the election, what are my options at the point?

The first comment I posted on this site was answered by you, telling me to be polite. It was not necessary to say that, and you know it. Don't talk to me about the things I say on here, when you are in obvious violation yourself. You say my copy and paste reply didn't address it one iota? I don't believe I was even talking to you. Your condescending remarks are not appreciated. It appears to me that you try to dazzle us with your rhetoric and superior sense of intellect.
I don't owe you any of my rationale on why I support Romney. As a matter of fact, I will not respond to any further posts from you. It seems to me, all you want to do is argue. Find somebody else.
