Thank you for the kind compliments...thank you!!! I hoped and prayed that in one aspect or another that everyone would leave with value added. I will try and post a summary of my notes and respective links (probably in Blipits) later today. I didn't put links in my notes....so I'm going to try and go back and gather all of those up (at least most of them) and include them for everyone to check references.

Hopefully the audio recording came out ok and Brian can get that posted for everyone who wasn't able to attend (we did have a birthday party next to us as well as music going in the background - i.e. Brian has his challenges on it).

It was nice to meet y'all last night. Thanks for putting this on and special thanks to Jason for the presentation.

For those who were asking about our pediatrician, his name is Peter Moskowitz and he practices in Draper. Here is his website:http://www.abcpediatricsutah.com

When our first boy was born he asked us in the hospital if we wanted to give him the Hep B shot. When we declined he said, "I'm not too worried because he probably isn't going to be having unprotected sex or be sharing needles with druggies." That's about the entire extent of our conversations about immunizing. When we go in for the occasional check up with him, they ask if the kids are up to date on the shots and we say no. Nobody in the office is pushy or even appears judgmental by our choice.

Also, he's Jewish, so we really trusted him with the boys of you catch my drift. ;)

You are so polite for not mentioning my son's yelling and laughing throughout.... :)) Actually last I talked with Brian he thought it would turn out OK. :) Thanks again Jason - and your notes would be awesome, there have been a LOT of requests for either notes or audio!

LOL....my parents tell stories of me and my two younger brothers rapidly disappearing under the bench in Sacrament meeting in the 1st or 2nd row....before getting apprehended at the back of the room after disrupting row by row on the way back. Doubt I would have had the patience he had at his age!

Thanks so much for this info! The poor doctor is probably going to be bombarded now with a ton of new anti-vaccine patients! :))

It was good to see you and your wife again!!

Yes thank you! Wife and I are in the hunt for new pediatrician....

Ok notes (with some references added) are up in Blipits -

Considering the scope of material covered....references aren't what they should be....but I may tackle that one area at a time over the next week or two with more in depth (all in one place) reference list.

I'm going to be delayed in getting it posted... hopefully it doesn't turn out too bad. (The presentation was awesome!) Unfortunately, something was interfering with the signal on the wireless microphone causing some problems in the recording. (I was wondering if there was some kind of problem with my equipment and tested it at the office when I got back and it worked perfectly.)
All my opinions are tentative pending further data...

Dr. Pete is our pediatrician. He has been very good and doesn't rush to medicate. However, when we ask about vaccinations, he does recommend them. He doesn't think there is any harm to kids and told us it would be more harmful to not vaccinate. We went in for our 9 month old last week (6 months shots- we debated for a long time) and that was what he said. I gave him a blessing and have to just rely on the Lord to protect him from that. He also recommended the flu shot. I was against, my wife not so much. FWIW
