D&C 77:12 says that Christ doesn't return until the Seventh Seal is opened and there is a period of preparation and cleansing. Rev 8:1 and D&C 88:95 indicate that this period of preparation is the Half hour of silence in heaven or 21 years upon the earth after the Seventh Seal is opened.

The 'yep' was for the overlapping part - the 6th and 7th seals do overlap so that one closes before the other opens. I believe we are in that gap now.

What else don’t I like about what Dr. Cohen is saying? Points to consider…

1- He claims that being of special linage and supposedly having the gift of Aaron, he’s more entitled to the gifts of the spirit than you or I.

This is simply not true! You have the gift of the holly ghost… “by the power of the holy ghost ye may know the truth of all things”! Do you have a testimony of Jesus? Then you have the spirit of prophecy…. “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. A true prophet, Joseph Smith has said:

"God hath not revealed anything to Joseph, but what he will make known unto the Twelve, and even the least saint may know all things as fast as he is able to bear them, for the day must come when no man need say to his neighbor, Know ye the Lord; for all shall know him . . . from the least to the greatest." (Teachings, p. 149.)

We may be living below our privileges but if we really wanted to, we could “know all things as fast as” we are “able to bear them”.


2- Because his father is a rabbi and he is Jewish, he understands things pertinent to the Second Coming that you or I can’t possibly understand without his help, without him, we are all hopelessly lost.

Balderdash! We have more than enough information to understand the Second Coming within our standard works and the statements of the prophets of the restoration! Further, we don’t need to twist and stretch the Lord’s words. When properly understood, we will find that the Lord’s prophetic words fit perfectly together, they say what they mean and mean what they say. We need to read the scriptures with the intent of finding out for ourselves. You have the gifts mentioned above, use them!

3- Of the thirteen men we sustain as prophets, not a one is Jewish or of the linage of Aaron. Whatever will we do?

4- As pertaining to the date of the 22nd of September,..... he’s wrong!

Israel to be led by the keys

The following verse is often misinterpreted as referring to only the priesthood keys.

Keep all the commandments and covenants by which ye are bound; and I will cause the heavens to shake for your good, and Satan shall tremble and Zion shall rejoice upon the hills and flourish; and Israel shall be saved in mine own due time; and by the keys which I have given shall they be led, and no more be confounded at all. (D&C 35: 24-25)

Israel is to be led by both sets of keys: the keys of the church and the keys of the priesthood.

Bro. Cohen does not claim any special priveleges or gifts other than that which is given to him by revelation through the Prophet of God:

"Nevertheless a bishop must be chosen from the High Priesthood, unless he is a literal descendant of Aaron; For unless he is a literal descendant of Aaron he cannot hold the keys of that priesthood."

"But a literal descendant of Aaron has a legal right to the presidency of this priesthood, to the keys of this ministry, to act in the office of bishop independently, without counselors, except in a case where a President of the High Priesthood, after the order of Melchizedek, is tried, to sit as a judge in Israel.

D&C 107:69-70, 76

All the indications are that September 22 & 23 are significant dates. He's not saying categorically - the Seventh Seal WILL open this year on September 23. He's saying there is every possibility, going on what the Scriptures indicate and what Church historical events indicate, that September 23 is significant with regard to the Seventh Seal.

Anyone with half a brain could have predicted from Leviticus 23:24 that a major event would occur on September 22/23 at some future point. It did. Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith seven times on that date and entrusted him with sacred, ancient plates from which he translated the Book of Mormon.

It was the Prophet Moses who gave this information 4000 years ago, not David Cohen. It was the Prophet Joseph Smith who said Moroni appeared on this date and referred to it as the 'end of the year'. September 22 - the end of the year? Who would have thought that? Joseph Smith gets another bulls-eye!

All we need to do is to read the scriptures and think. If we can't do that then maybe listen to someone that has like Bro. David Cohen.

You'd think it was a given. But alas, there are multiple interpretations of scripture ( most who believe we are in the seventh seal believe that things such as "the stars falling from heaven" as being purely symbolic and will show you exactly how).
