Yeah, I've been on other forums, there always is one that pops up and sticks out like a sore thumb. I was on a gold prospecting/metal detecting forum, and this guy appeared out of the blue that targeted and ferreted out every conservative leaning post. It truly was if he was being paid to write up well worded responses to take issue with everything right of center. He obviously had more time on his hands than others and could burn all his time writing up well crafted responses to everyone. He of course would also post gold from time to time to seem like he was a hobbiest prospector. I would not rule out that maybe he was, but it became my conclusion that he was still employed by the online propaganda machine. They finally had to ban him, although I don't know if they would ever do something like that here. Such posters always seem to seek out and find online forums that do have a more conservative point of view. I would caution everyone to carefully observe his posts and come to your own conclusions, just my two cents.

When a person owns a gun, does that make them a nut?

Many times a girl finds herself exposed. Many times a girl finds herself vulnerable. And if you like your independence (like me), you don’t like the idea of being unprepared when walking down a dark alley late at night or when you simply must stop a jerk from being a jerk! According to statistics women are twice more likely to be attacked then men. Keep calm, evaluate the situation and be prepared!
This is what makes attackers live a living hell:

Palmetto State Armory (PSA) has great deals on ARs and accessories.

Magazines and ammunition seem to be relatively cheap with the Clinton loss.

.22lr ammo is becoming more and more available, and some is finally making it to the shelves at the lgs.

Just wondering. Is there any reason why .38 spl rounds with buckshot loads would not be good for self defense? I hear CCI puts out a combo .38 spl/357 buckshot round.

Or would the Taurus, Public Defender, 410 shot/45 Long Colt be a better defense weapon?

I don't have the inclination of spending hours on end at a shooting range tryng to get a bullet into center target 25 ft away. As we get older buckshot seems to be an easier and more accurate way to protect oneself. Five rapid shots ought to do something. And there's no guaranty of hitting a moving target 40 feet away with a solid round.

Collateral damage, and it's not necessarily fatal or strong enough to stop a determined threat.
Practice brings you closer to perfection, and may save your life.

Does anybody even make .38 special with buckshot? Looking at my preferred online retailer I only see #4 and #9 birdshot.

Here's a guy who says it won't work for defense.
Snake shot, basically.

That firearm uses .45 Colt or .410 shot as opposed to .38 Spl. Therefore it doesn't answer my question.

I agree. I do think the Taurus Public defender will do a fine job, however. Let's face it, pulling a cc gun is used for intimidation purposes a good share of the time. The cylinder could be loaded with 3 410's and 2 .45 Long Colt just for good measure. An 80 year old man in a defense mode may find it comforting to have the possibility of hitting an attacker with a little wider spread than having 5 rounds miss the target altogether.

Just for fun I post this:
