Hard to get financing for a modular home in the east. Is that the case out there too?

Modular homes are a common form of housing in our area. There are plenty of favorable financing options for them, as long as the home is permanently affixed to the land -- i.e. attached to a foundation or a basement.

That's naughty of you Sweet&Noble ;) . We have already had that discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37285" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; under your other pseudonym, Regina...have we not?

Photo 1… A photo in Spring /Summer would be more pleasing.
At least add some life and greenery with pot plants.
Photo 2… Remove couch.
Photos 3 and 4… Remove notes, urn and clutter.
Photo 5… Remove bookshelf, boxes and all clutter.
Photo 8… Remove towels.
9 and 10… Take photo of the whole room including windows, preferably without bunks, but at least remove/replace bedding and mattresses.

Really not difficult to improve presentation.

Thank you for your concern, Sweet&Noble/Regina.

If any has an interest in the discussion that already took place on the subject, they may view it here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37285" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have neither the time nor the inclination to revisit it.

I will be in Utah in May and Manti is on my agenda. I don't know the exact schedule yet, but I will send you a message when I know.

Dave Conrad
I can't tell you how much I liked Manti and the valley.
I regret I was a bit sick and didn't want to stop in. It could have been the flu, or elevation or something internal. I still haven't sorted it out.
But I definitely want to go back to Manti.
I sat on a bench on the north side of the Temple and could see the Temple, the north portico entrance, and to the north, the green valley.
And I could imagine for 127 years the faithful coming by horse, horse and buggy, or car, old car, then new, or on foot to visit the Temple.
I stayed at the Manti Country Village Motel. Look at their sign next time you go past.

Sorry you were under the weather, David13. We have had an unusually cool and rainy May, this year. Also, things have been a bit hectic for us for the past couple of weeks. Our second oldest daughter turned 19 last week, and is serving a mission. We're taking her to the MTC tomorrow.
If you come back up this way, let us know, if you feel so inclined. It would be nice to meet you and to visit.

Dave I think that is a great and wonderful thing. I hope and pray for the best for your daughter.
I would like to go back in July if all goes well.

...sounds good. If things work out for you to come just a bit earlier (end of June) you could take in the Manti Pageant at the foot of the temple (South side). It really is an extremely worthwhile event to experience. Here is a link to the dates, etc.

I have looked at that.
However, I thought it might be too crowded. And I got the impression that there might tend to be a number of weirdo, alternative, protester or other strange stuff around that I would not be so interested in.
I already got an overload of "diversity" here in Los Angeles.
Also I didn't think the pageant was that interesting, per se.
I'd rather read history books and look at the old photos.
Prices might be too high, my favorite motel might be sold out. Restaurants might be too full.
So I just have to see. And check the weather.
But I do have to say that if anyone has not been to that Temple, they should go to see it, and to see the valley and the town.

...valid concerns...however, the experience is overwhelmingly positive despite some validity to some of those concerns...the remedy...hit town for the tail end of it...Friday or Saturday the 26th or 27th. There is room at the Conrad Inn. The pricing is excellent...no charge. That's the way we like to do things here, in Manti. It would be our pleasure. There is a vacant room now that another of ours has flown the coop...and we have plenty of food and to spare, to go around on our table...breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is quiet at our place. We live at the opposite side of town from the Pageant happenings. Just let us know, and that room is available to you for either or both of those two days and nights. After that, the town is back to it's old, quiet, unpopulated self.

...hard to find existing homes in town on one acre lots. For that you might have to get some land outside of town and build new. If a person has lots of money, such things can be done.

There is a very small market pool of available buyers in Manti...it usually takes a long time to sell. If you check the multiple listings for the area, you will see that our home is priced extremely well compared to what is available on the market.

I'm not worried. We'll sell it when the time is right, and the right family or individual comes along.

I have researched the Manti market and came close to purchasing a number of times. Manti has a lot to offer an LDS purchaser, provided they can accept the cold weather.

In many areas there are old farm houses, etc., on a few acres, just outside town.
However, they will need work. And sometimes it is too much work, like a new foundation or new framing. And if it doesn't need that work, it may need a roof, or just be very drafty, increasing heating or cooling costs.
As to the cold, as they say you get used to it. A lady in Torrey (colder than Manti) told me, just get a wood burning stove in there.
But that's not that easy. You may have a lot of codes that make a wood burning stove very difficult.
As to Dave's house, I don't think it needs anything. 100% complete, up to date, well insulated and good to go.
I would be very happy in Manti. That appears to be one very nice place.
