Re: 4 more years of Obama
This election was significant due to the fact that the married white Christian family has lost its power in the national election. Obama was voted into office by blacks, Latinos, single women and the younger vote. There are several articles out there talking about the " fall of the WASP".
Its unfortunate the GOP tried to co-opt the Tea Party. Out of all the Constitutional issues, immigration was the only issue they ran with; which served only to alienate the entire Latino demographic delivering them over to Obama..

Hopefully some will humble themselves and ask God what went wrong.
At the end of the day the people made a choice....and they'll reap what they sow....for better or worse!
I've been on me knees a lot lately, and I'll tell you what went wrong, although I think you at least already know. The people, including the members of the church, have abandoned principle and elect politicians in all offices, not based on any standard, but based on how much they perceive it will benefit them or their cause. Even if the cause is as laudable as wanting the missionary work to expand - God doesn;t want us to abandon principle in order to reach an end, he wants us to be righteous, and then HE will worry about the ends. And I think He has repeatedly taught us, by the school of hard knocks, that when we decide we know best and try to take over the program that we ALWAYS are going to fail.
But, assuming we have a country in four years, I guarantee it will be "the most important election of our lifetimes" and "we MUST vote for Socialism A candidate to avoid the TURRIBLE TURRIBLE Socialism B candidate from getting elected!" I suspect that the demon of the left will be Hillary Clinton as she is about the only person left that can further divide the country after Obama gets done.
Point taken, though - NONE of us is as humble as they need to be - that's a given. I just think those that proclaimed Mitt as God's choice and declared that he WOULD be president need an extra helping of humble pie. And those that are declaring that any LDS who was against Romney should be "ashamed of themselves" - even though I have plenty of my own problems, I expect some crow will be eaten regarding those comments.

Not saying you don't know this, but I have discovered that a lot of people think this country is a democracy. It isn't. It's a representative government. That means that Romney could have won the people's vote, but if the representatives wanted Obama, they would have voted him in (ignoring what the people wanted), and it is perfectly legal. I'm sure many of you folks know this, since you are very much into things political.Legion wrote:I believe that street goes in two directions....Original_Intent wrote:So much for the guaranteed victory for King Hezekiah.

The people have the power to change the system any day they get un-apathetic enough to do something about it....A Random Phrase wrote:Not saying you don't know this, but I have discovered that a lot of people think this country is a democracy.
