Armed conflict is coming to America.

Why? Because massive social and financial upheaval is on the doorstep. The situation with Wall Street, the Federal Reserve, quantitative easing, inflation and deflation, the price and supply of oil, the status of the banking industry, the worldwide movement of goods and commodities (actually, the lack of it, given what’s happened ot the Baltic Dry Index), and the viability of the food production processes are all in the news. You can read.

You can sift through the political propaganda that circulates around these topics. If you understand that the valley that provides an eighth of the fresh produce to the US just went through the worst drought in its history…. If you understand that much of the middle of the nation (the breadbasket) which provides much of the wheat, corn, beef, pork, etc. has gone through its own severe cycles of weather…. If you understand that the nation is deeply in debt and that the people who hold that debt are in deep financial straits themselves…. If you understand that the value of our currency is tied to the supply of oil and that the supply of oil is in trouble… If you understand that those who invested in our continued ability to provide oil have seen their investments fail… If you understand that our infrastructure is weak and broken because we have been horn-swaggled into paying for expensive and dysfunctional military hardware and the costs of overseas wars to provide profits for oligarchs and security for small groups of psychopathologically narcisstic and otherwise disturbed and duplicitous peoples…

Well, we’ll maintain the focus here at home. What’s the percentage of people who have solid jobs and incomes in your community? What do you think is going to happen when a lot of people can’t put food on their families?

Now, that’s just a bunch of questions, but let’s look at other forecasts for violence in America. It’s old news now… this is where your library can provide the books … that we’ve undergone a radical militarization of local law enforcement.

Since 2006, 44 agencies spent $71 million on tactical gear.

Federal agencies have armed themselves and bought up massive amounts of .40-caliber hollow point ammunition, a round so deadly it’s outlawed by most nations, and there’s enough for five rounds for every adult in America.

The US DOJ/ATF debacle known as “Fast and Furious” ships arms to the Sinaloa narcotics cabal in Mexico, and the US has armed and supplied ISIS. Everyone is pointing to Muslim terrorists behind every tree but there are well-armed gangs poised to enter America; some of them are already here.

And we haven’t even broached the idea of global armed conflict involving Russia, China, Israel and the US. That was back in Part One, starting in the Persian Gulf, focused on oil supplies and the trans-shipment of oil.

Another forecast of conflict inside America comes in John Whitehead’s book “Battlefield America”. [Here are the Barnes and Noble and Amazon links so you can read the reviews, comments, etc.]

Whitehead mentions Jade Helm. I’ve written about Jade Helm extensively. It’s a controversial subject and I’m not sure if I’ve clarified the issue or muddied the water, but there’s a lot going on inside that topic that has to do with covert ops, social engineering, and more.

Have you seen Dahr Jamail’s report on U.S. military plans for war games in Washington state? I’m sure some observers imagine that the military is simply looking for a place to engage in safe and responsible and needed practice in hand-to-hand combat against incoming North Korean nuclear missiles, or perhaps to rehearse a humanitarian invasion of Russia to uphold the fundamental international law against Vladimir Putin’s existence.

But if you look over the history of domestic use of the U.S. military — such as by reading the new book Soldiers on the Home Front: The Domestic Role of the American Military — it’s hard not to wonder whether, from the U.S. military’s point of view, at least a side benefit of the coming war game isn’t rehearsing….

Beginning in mid-January, Navy SEALs will be practicing unannounced and clandestine combat beach landings across Washington State's Puget Sound and many other coastal areas of that state.

The simulated combat exercises, which will include the use of mini-submarines and other landing craft, will deposit Navy SEALs carrying "simulated weapons" on 68 beach and state park areas in Puget Sound, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Washington's west coast, unbeknownst to most of the relevant government agencies tasked with overseeing these areas.

Internal Navy emails, two slide shows (which can be viewed in full here and here) and other documents obtained exclusively by Truthout reveal the vast extent of the operations. They also reveal the fact that the Navy labeled the relevant files as "For Official Use Only" and emails as "Attorney-Client privilege," a move that exempts such documents from the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Ammon and Ryan Bundy, the brothers leading anti-government protesters occupying Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, and four other people were arrested Tuesday in a confrontation with authorities, the FBI said. One person was dead, the FBI said.

Shots were fired about 4:25 p.m. (7:25 p.m. ET) when the FBI and Oregon State Police began an “enforcement action” at the wildlife refuge, the FBI said. It didn’t identify the victim but said he or she wasn’t a law enforcement officer.

He added that the source of the investigation right now is the building’s basement. That spokesman doesn’t know if the basement has been evacuated. Non-emergency personnel have been advised to stay away from the building, reports ABC San Diego…The base is the jurisdiction of military police who are co-ordinating with local and federal agencies. NBC San Diego reports that two California Highway Patrol officers were seen entering the medical center at around 8:30 a.m. local time. Handguns and FBI agent's badge stolen from car in Bay Area
Three handguns and an FBI agent's badge were stolen early Friday from a locked and alarmed vehicle in the latest such incident in the San Francisco Bay Area, the FBI said.

Two other recent thefts in the area had tragic results after firearms stolen from law enforcement agents' vehicles were subsequently used in slayings. The spate of incidents since July has prompted proposed state and local legislation.

Canada's "drug problem" was quite profitable for Stephen Harper, Jeb Bush, Mike Huxtable & Terry Nelson

It may still be the case. But for almost 20 years, Stephen Harper and perhaps a few before him, as well as his personal friend Mike Huxtable, made it easy and profitable for loads of cocaine to be flown into Weyburn (SKN) and Chapeau (MTL) by the Uncle Sam cowboys Terry Nelson, Steve Finta and their pilots Curt Emmer and others. The below chart surfaced at worldlawdirect.com where a user "Nico" posted part of book manuscripts seized from a former U.S. agent that sought sanctuary in Canada as a refugee in 2000. The guy's name was Bruce Gorcyca and within days of visiting Amnesty International he was detained illegaly by Immigration Canada in maximum security confinement for 10 months "at the request of the U.S. Justice Department".

Maybe just a coincidence that his book exposed former U.S. Justice Department officials Edward Chism (http://americanfinancialgroup.worpress.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and corupt FBI agent Terry Nelson, both friends of the BUsh family and both comitting crimes in Canada for the Bush family. Chism worked in Panama for 20 years for Uncle Sam where he married Teresita Tapia the personal banker, translator, sexretary of General Manuel Noriega, who according to Noriega's former pilot, was business partners with George H. Bush and a CIA asset according to former DEA Director John Lawn. Terry Nelson who lived less than 7 miles from Chism in Miami had Atty. Steve Finta deliver $16 million in cash to AFG offices at the request of Nelson who was met at the Bush Florida home by former CIA pilot Chip Tatum (Google him).

According to Gorcyca and other witnesses (George Morales, Johnny Molina, Alberto Duque, Erling Ingvaldsen, and others including a handful of honest DEA and RCMP officials) after Oliver North's operation was busted in 1986, all those planes full of cocaine started flying in to Canada, where Nelson and Huxtable were actually caught red-handed in 1997 - and allowed to jump bail http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/topi ... eal-terry-.." onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Pentagon Running Low on Smart Bombs for ISIS Campaign // Marcus Weisgerber

The Pentagon is starting to run low on the smart bombs and guided missiles it has used in the 9,000-plus airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria over the past 18 months, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said Tuesday.

Because of that, President Barack Obama will ask Congress next week to approve $1.8 billion to buy 45,000 new bombs. The spending request is part of $7.5 billion the Pentagon says it will need to bomb ISIS and train Iraqi security forces in 2017.

“This will be critical as our updated coalition military campaign plan takes hold,” Carter said of the request for the Pentagon’s war chest.

The U.S. military also wants a brigade of new troops—as many as 5,000—in Europe, Stars and Stripes‘ Tara Copp reports. “A brigade-size fleet of heavy vehicles and weaponry would also be delivered to storage sites throughout the Continent,” defense officials said….

“This reflects a new situation, where Russia has become a more difficult actor,” a senior administration official told the Times.

For what it’s worth: The new brigade of troops would complement the 65,000 or so already in Europe.

That includes almost 1,100 U.S. citizens working as military contractors, according to the latest Defense Department statistics.”

Western Stand-Off


Over three weeks ago, a group of armed men occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Oregon. The armed stand-off between the occupiers of a federal reserve and everyone else turns on a fundamental disagreement about democratic government and public property in America.

Malheur is located in an arid and lightly populated section of the huge Northern Great Basin in the West. Once this area was home to millions of large nesting birds, including egrets and greater sandhill cranes. In the late 19th century, hunters seeking feathers for hats nearly killed off these flocks. In 1908, Teddy Roosevelt established the Lake Malheur Reservation, one of 51 wildlife refuges he created as President. In the 1930s, over 1000 men in the Civilian Conservation Corps built stone buildings, miles of roads, bridges, camping facilities and lookout towers in the Refuge. They connected local communities with telephone lines. Jobs provided to local craftsmen, and purchases of food and supplies for the CCC enriched the economy of Harney County during the deepest Depression.

The Malheur Refuge is part of a nationwide system of wildlife refuges run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service within the Interior Department. Over 560 refuges across the country provide access to wildlife within an hour’s drive of most metropolitan centers. More than 45 million people visit the refuges every year for hunting, fishing, photography, hiking, or just watching. There are seven wildlife refuges in Illinois, including the Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge at the confluence of the Illinois and Spoon Rivers, wetlands for thousands of migratory ducks only 40 miles north of Jacksonville.

The angry men who have taken over the Malheur Refuge don’t care about the democratic public uses of these federally owned lands. The occupiers disdain the idea of public property. They want the US government to give up control of the wildlife refuge to private uses. They asked local people to sign documents repudiating the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's authority.

A list of people who are occupying Malheur perhaps provides a sketch of the militia movement. Most have criminal records. Most went to Cliven Bundy’s ranch when he defied federal officials in 2014. Many have failed economically and owe money to the government they are protesting. Many had participated in another destructive demonstration of their disdain for public use in May 2014, when they drove ATVs through a canyon closed to motorized vehicles because it houses thousand-year-old ruins of dwellings and burial sites of Native Americans.

The occupiers thought local people would welcome them. The opposite is true. The ranchers whom the occupiers claimed they wanted to protect from arrest have criticized them. The Sheriff of Harney County condemned their intimidation of local law enforcement. A group of sportsmen, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, tore down a makeshift sign put up by the occupiers, and denounced their taking of public lands. A few days after the occupation began, the Sheriff asked hundreds of local residents at a public meeting at the Harney County Fairgrounds if the occupiers should leave. Nearly everybody raised their hands.

Like Cliven Bundy, their spiritual and political godfather, they want these lands, improved by a century of public investment, to be used for private economic benefit. In 20124, Bundy had concocted arguments about why the Constitution allowed him to have free grazing rights on public land, which every court rejected. He continued to graze his cattle on public land, but stopped paying. He used the language of the “sovereign citizen” movement to defend his right to ignore all government authorities. Ammon Bundy, his son and one of the stand-off leaders, rejects the authority of the FBI.

It’s not always useful to listen to a movement’s loudest mouths. But the Bundys have rallied this small occupation, and the wider movement of armed opponents of our democratic government, behind their expression of basic ideas.

They all wave the Constitution, along with “history books” that allege some connection between our founding document and their current politics. They reject all forms and manifestations of national government authority. That’s not a Constitutional interpretation that anyone else shares. It doesn’t derive from the document, it precedes it. The basis of this interpretation was made abundantly clear by Ammon Bundy: “I did exactly what the Lord asked me to do.” Cliven and Ammon Bundy in 2014 and now Ammon Bundy again cited passages from the Book of Mormon as justification for their actions.

The sovereign occupier movement is a religious rebellion against the political structure of our country. All the nation’s authorities about that structure, from local law enforcement to state judges to the Supreme Court, plus the accumulated wisdom of generations of historians, reject the occupier movement’s claim to be supported by the Constitution. Leaders in the Church of the Latter Day Saints said they “are deeply troubled by the reports that those who have seized the facility suggest that they are doing so based on scriptural principles.”

In a 2014 survey, law enforcement agencies said sovereign citizen groups pose the greatest threat to their communities, more than radical Islamists.

Economists might applaud their tactics. If I wave the Bible and the Constitution and my gun and my cowboy hat enough, we won’t have to pay what we owe. So far it’s worked.

The articulation of southern blackness here invites us to theorize black resistance practices. There is the expressive resistance that stands and fights and brandishes guns and stages coups. There is the quiet resistance, the meditative kind that Kevin Quashie talks about. For Ralph Ellison’s protagonist in Invisible Man, it is hibernation, the act of a particular kind of invisibility, that is a “covert preparation for a more overt action.”

Formation, is a different kind of resistance practice, one rooted in the epistemology of (and sometimes only visible/detectable to) folks on the margins of blackness. The political scientist Cathy Cohen talks about activism at these margins, the kind of deviance-as-resistance built and cultivated at the margins of respectable blackness. Formation, then, is a metaphor, a black feminist, black queer, and black queer feminist theory of community organizing and resistance. It is a recognition of one another at the blackness margins–woman, queer, genderqueer, trans, poor, disabled, undocumented, immigrant–before an overt action. For the black southern majorettes, across gender formulations, formation is the alignment, the stillness, the readying, the quiet, before the twerk, the turn-up, the (social) movement. To be successful, there must be coordination, the kind that choreographers and movement leaders do, the kind that black women organizers do in neighborhoods and organizations. To slay the violence of white supremacist heteropatriarchy, we must start, Beyoncé argues, with the proper formation. The proper formation is, she contends, made possible by the participation and leadership of a blackness on the margins. The celebration of the margins–black bodies in motion, women’s voices centered, black queer voices centered–is what ultimately vanquishes the state, represented by a NOPD car. Beyoncé as the conjured every-southern-black-woman, slays atop the car and uses the weight of her body to finish it off, sacrificing herself in the process. A controversial genetic technology able to wipe out the mosquito carrying the Zika virus will be available within months, scientists say.

The technology, called a “gene drive,” was demonstrated only last year in yeast cells, fruit flies, and a species of mosquito that transmits malaria. It uses the gene-snipping technology CRISPR to force a genetic change to spread through a population as it reproduces.

Three U.S. labs that handle mosquitoes, two in California and one in Virginia, say they are already working toward a gene drive for Aedes aegypti, the type of mosquito blamed for spreading Zika. If deployed, the technology could theoretically drive the species to extinction.

“We could have it easily within a year,” says Anthony James, a molecular biologist at the University of California, Irvine.

Any release of a gene drive in the wild would be hotly debated by ecologists. So far, no public health agency has thrown its weight behind the idea. But with Zika sowing fear across Latin America and beyond, the technology is likely to get a closer look. “Four weeks ago we were trying to justify why we are doing this. “Conduct your own experiment into the government’s tolerance of speech that challenges its authority, and see for yourself.

Stand on a street corner—or in a courtroom, at a city council meeting or on a university campus—and recite some of the rhetoric used by the likes of Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, John Adams and Thomas Paine without referencing them as the authors.

For that matter, just try reciting the Declaration of Independence, which rejects tyranny, establishes Americans as sovereign beings, recognizes God as a Supreme power, portrays the government as evil, and provides a detailed laundry list of abuses that are as relevant today as they were 240 years ago.

My guess is that you won’t last long before you get thrown out, shut up, threatened with arrest or at the very least accused of being a radical, a troublemaker, a sovereign citizen, a conspiratorialist or an extremist.

Try suggesting, as Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin did, that Americans should not only take up arms but be prepared to shed blood in order to protect their liberties, and you might find yourself placed on a terrorist watch list and vulnerable to being rounded up by government agents.

“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms,” declared Jefferson. He also concluded that “the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Observed Franklin: “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!”

Better yet, try suggesting as Thomas Paine, Marquis De Lafayette, John Adams and Patrick Henry did that Americans should, if necessary, defend themselves against the government if it violates their rights, and you will be labeled a domestic extremist.

“It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government,” insisted Paine. “When the government violates the people’s rights,” Lafayette warned, “insurrection is, for the people and for each portion of the people, the most sacred of the rights and the most indispensable of duties.” Adams cautioned, “A settled plan to deprive the people of all the benefits, blessings and ends of the contract, to subvert the fundamentals of the constitution, to deprive them of all share in making and executing laws, will justify a revolution.” And who could forget Patrick Henry with his ultimatum: “Give me liberty or give me death!”

Then again, perhaps you don’t need to test the limits of free speech for yourself. One such test is playing out before our very eyes in Portland, Oregon, where radio “shock jock” Pete Santilli, a new media journalist who broadcasts his news reports over YouTube and streaming internet radio, is sitting in jail.

Santilli, notorious for his controversial topics, vocal outrage over government abuses, and inflammatory rhetoric, is not what anyone would consider an objective reporter. His radio show, aptly titled “Telling You the Truth…Whether You Like It or Not,” makes it clear that Santilli has a viewpoint (namely, that the government has overstepped its bounds), and he has no qualms about sharing it with his listeners.

It was that viewpoint that landed Santilli in jail.

In early January 2016, a group of armed activists, reportedly protesting the federal government’s management of federal lands and its prosecution of two local ranchers convicted of arson, staged an act of civil disobedience by occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns, Oregon. Santilli, who has covered such protests in the past, including the April 2014 standoff in Nevada between the Bundy ranching family and the federal government over grazing rights, reported on the occupation in Burns as an embedded journalist, albeit one who was sympathetic to the complaints (although not the tactics) of the occupiers.

When asked to clarify his role in relation to the occupation, Santilli declared, “My role is the same here that it was at the Bundy ranch. To talk about the constitutional implications of what is going on here. The Constitution cannot be negotiated.”

Well, it turns out that the Constitution can be negotiated, at least when the government gets involved.

Long a thorn in the side of the FBI, Santilli was arrested by the FBI following its ambush and arrest of key leaders of the movement. He was charged, along with the armed resistors, with conspiracy to impede federal officers from discharging their duties by use of force, intimidation, or threats—the same charge being levied against those who occupied the refuge—which carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison.

Notably, Santilli is the only journalist among those covering the occupation to be charged with conspiracy, despite the fact that he did not participate in the takeover of the refuge, nor did he ever spend a night on the grounds of the refuge, nor did he ever represent himself as anything but a journalist covering the occupation.

Of course, the government doesn’t actually believe that 50-year-old Santilli is an accomplice to any criminal activity.

Read between the lines and you’ll find that what the government is really accusing Santilli of is employing dangerous speech. As court documents indicate, the government is prosecuting Santilli solely as a reporter of information. In other words, they’re making an example of him, which is consistent with the government’s ongoing efforts to intimidate members of the media who portray the government in a less than favorable light.

This is not a new tactic…..”

“What has been most highlighted and lambasted is Orban’s stance on the current refugee/illegal immigrant crisis, but some of his other decisions are even more rebellious against the hegemony of the AngloZionists, to borrow a term from the Saker.

Orban rejected the IMF’s austerity measures, increased Hungary’s oversight over its Central Bank, raised taxes for all banks and, in 2013, even kicked out the International Monetary Fund. Orban’s moves against banksters have not been foregrounded by the international press because banksters and their allies don’t want you to think too much about their rampant criminal activities.

In defiance of the AngloZionists’ effort to isolate Russia, Orban’s government agreed in 2014 to have South Stream go through Hungary. This Russian gas pipeline would also have crossed Turkey’s territorial waters, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Slovenia and Austria. Though it would have benefited all of Europe, South Stream was scuttled by our global elites through pressure on Bulgaria. In contrast to Hungary’s decision, Poland has gone out of its way to avoid relying on Russian natural gas by arranging in 2006 to buy from distant Qatar. Thanks to a delay in the construction of a sea terminal, Poland still hasn’t quaffed any Qatar liquefied natural gas, though it’s already paying through its nose due to contractual obligations. Huffing the Russian stuff costs a lot less.

Besides seeking closer ties with Russia, Orban has repeatedly stressed that sanctions against Russia hurts all European countries. What he’s advocating, then, is a Europe that must look out for its own interests in defiance of the suicide diktats from the AngloZionists.

In 2011, Orban banned GMO crops from Hungary and destroyed 1,000 acres of corn planted with Monsanto seeds.

Also of note is Orban’s reaching out to Hungarians in neighboring countries. His government has provided monetary aid and even citizenship to all ethnic Hungarians (with the stipulation that one must speak the language to be naturalized). Thanks to the vindictive Treaty of Trianon after World War I, Hungary lost 71% of its land and 66% of its people. Not even Germany was truncated so ruthlessly.

Orban’s government has revoked tax-exemption status from most Hungarian religious organizations, including all versions of Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and Baha’i, all but three Jewish synagogues, as well as many Christian orders or denominations such as Opus Dei, Benedictines, Marists, Carmelites, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Episcopalians and Methodists. The only ones to receive state recognition and support are those deemed traditional to Hungarian society.

Echoing Putin and other leaders, Orban has condemned NGOs as a fifth column. Though as a young man, Orban received a four-month scholarship from the Soros Foundation to study in Oxford, he is fingering the Budapest-born Soros as an unwelcome meddler in Hungary and the rest of Europe. He has since apologized to Flint residents and is trying to save face (and his job) by promising to “fix” the mess he made.

Flint reveals that there is a much deeper contamination poisoning our country’s political morals: namely, an insidious right-wing belief that poor people (particularly people of color who are poor) are underserving moochers whose misfortunes can be ignored — even when their misfortunes stem directly from the discriminatory practices of slippery elites like Snyder. This example in Flint proves once again that government can’t be run like a corporation, as a corporation exists to profit only a few, not serve the many. Despite the shallow sloganeering of ideologues, government has to be run … well, like a government.”

Hellish Woman: ISIS’s Granny Endorses Hillary





The year 2008 was a very important year in the history of the United States. There were chances of either a first woman or a first black person becoming the president of the US which had, in its 232 years history, seen only white men as presidents. So there was great excitement not only among blacks and women but also millions of others who also wished for such a change. The woman, Hillary Clinton, lost the Democratic Party’s nomination which went to a black person, Barack Obama. At that moment, Hillary’s female supporters realized they’ll have to wait for 4 to 8 more years before one of their own can try again for the White House. Hillary is back in the race, but this time the other Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, a white man with a progressive agenda, has attracted many girls and women to vote for him. This has proved bothersome to some of Hillary’s die hard fans.

Kate Harding

Kate Harding of Dame expressed her support for Hillary in these words:

“There has never been a president who knows what it’s like to menstruate, be pregnant, or give birth. …”

Harding is right about the above three qualities which none of the White House occupant up to this point has ever been endowed with. And, of course, Hillary is much more clever and intelligent than former president George W. Bush and some of the Republican presidential candidates. But it’s the issues which are more important. When compared to Bernie Sanders, one has to go for Sanders. Of course, Sanders is not a radical revolutionary – and if he was, the media wouldn’t have given this much coverage to his campaign, and the New York Times, which has endorsed Hillary would have opposed Sanders’ participation in the debates.

(In 2000, the New York Times had supported the exclusion of Ralph Nader, the Green Party presidential candidate, from debates.) (The New York Times’ conservative columnist David Brooks has already started mourning Obama’s departure because “Sanderscare [Sanders’ healthcare program] would take employer coverage away from tens of millions of satisfied customers, destroy the health insurance business and levy massive new tax hikes. This is epic social disruption.” Initially, like Sanders, Obama was for single-payer system but under pressure from insurance companies he caved in. It’s understandable that Brooks, who can afford $120,000 vacation, can’t afford any kind of social disruption.)

Coming back to Harding, Sanders do lack the three qualities: menstruation, pregnancy, and birth giving. He is, however, many times better than Hillary on social, economic, and political issues and will try to do something to reduce somewhat the intense economic inequality. If the female candidate was Barbara Ehrenreich or Lani Guinier or any other woman with concerns for economic, political, and social inequalities, many of the people supporting Sanders would have flocked to a woman candidate. But Hillary is not that woman. One night Hillary claims she is a “progressive,” and very next night she declares she is for a “capital punishment!”

Gloria Steinem

Last Friday, on Bill Maher program, feminist Gloria Steinem came up with a sexist explanation as to why young women were supporting Bernie Sanders and not Hillary Clinton.

“And, when you’re young, you’re thinking, where are the boys? The boys are with Bernie…”

However, a couple of days later, she apologized on her Facebook page.

Steinem is a strange feminist who, in her zeal to support Hillary, doesn’t mind portraying young members of her own gender in such a degrading term. She is an old supporter of Hillary. In 2008, in her New York Times’ article, she backed, not convincingly, Hillary. A few days later, on Democracy Now, when Amy Goodman brought up Hillary’s support of US war against Iraq in 2002, Steinem experienced a dilemma:

“Well, she [Hillary Clinton] said, [the war resolution says to Saddam Hussein] ‘arm or be disarmed.’ I mean, this is a conundrum. I utterly disagree with her vote, 100% disagree with her vote. If we had been in that position, being shown all this false information and so on, I don’t exactly know how we would have voted, but I certainly disagree with her vote.”

Steinem’s reasoning of “false information is simply lame. Even Steinem herself, like many of us, would have clearly seen that the information Bush administration was providing about Iraq had not an iota of truth in it. And about Hillary, she is as crafty as her husband and has seen similar false information during Bill Clinton’s tenure as president (1993 – 2001).

This time, Hillary’s role and record in creating chaos in Libya is out in the open. Hillary was craving for credit for her important role in overthrowing Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 but laid the blame on Obama when Libya turned into chaos by saying, “at the end of the day, this was the president’s decision.” Vijay Prashad describes Libya today: “The black flags of the I.S. [Islamic State] flutter on territory bombed not so long ago by NATO’s jets. Libya has not recovered from that ‘humanitarian intervention’”. Steinem’s fanaticism refuses to see such facts.

Hillary still has a chance

Harding and Steinem need not worry too much: Hillary lost New Hampshire and hardly won Iowa, but there are still 48 states left, plus Bill Clinton, called “Slick Willie” is also out to help her campaign. Bill is also known as “the Comeback Kid.” He’ll try his best to come back as the “First Gentleman.” Undoubtedly, gentleman he has never been. Then there is the Democratic Party establishment which favors Hillary. PAC (Political Action Committee) of the Congressional Black Caucus has endorsed Hillary. (Most of the time, it’s one’s own who does the most harm, and this time too, it will be the blacks in the establishment who will discourage majority of the blacks from going with Sanders.) The Clinton machine is working. And last, but not the least, Counterpunch’s editor Jeffery St. Clair reminds us about the mechanism of the selection: the super delegates can ignore the results of the popular votes and can vote for whomever they want. At this moment, Hillary has 394 delegates vs Bernie’s 42!

“Even after Bernie’s thrashing of Hillary in New Hampshire, the Vermont senator only banked four more delegates than Clinton. Why? Because 8 of New Hampshire’s 32 delegates will remain ‘unassigned’ until the Democratic Convention, where they will be instructed to vote for whomever … the party establishment demands.”

In New Hampshire, Bernie got 60.4% of the votes against Hillary’s 38%. To win the nomination, he or she needs 2,382 delegates. If Sanders wins the popular votes but the delegates favor Hillary then the game is lost, unless, unlike Albert Gore in 2000, Sanders decides to bring out his millions of supporters on the streets to demand respect of the people’s votes. Other thing is that there is/are some new revelation/s about Hillary’s email scandal.

Madeleine Albright, ISIS’ granny

On February 6, at an election campaign event in New Hampshire, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton (2009 – 2013) was introduced by another former secretary of state Madeleine Albright (1997 – 2001, she was the first woman secretary of state). She repeated her own phrase, which has also been picked up by Taylor Swift and others :

“People are talking about revolution. What kind of a revolution would it be to have the first woman president of the United States?”

“Young women have to support Hillary Clinton. The story is not over!” “They’re going to want to push us back. Appointments to the supreme court make all the difference.

“It’s not done and you have to help. Hillary Clinton will always be there for you. And just remember, there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other.”

Hillary defended Albright’s remarks as “lighthearted but very pointed remark, which people can take however they choose.”

This is the difference between ISIS and it granny, Albright. ISIS simply sends you to hell whereas Albright gives you a choice: Hillary or hell. Albright is quite familiar with hell because she has turned many places into hell, between 1993 – 2001. (From 1993 to 1997 she was US ambassador to the United Nations and from 1997 to 2001 she was US secretary of state.)

Palestine, whose 78% territory is Israel since 1948, and the remaining 22%, Gaza and the West Bank, is under its indirect occupation will, if the United States wills, become an independent Palestinian state. But till then, the lives of the Palestinian people is hellish under the Israeli occupation. But Albright sees it differently:

“Those Palestinian rock throwers have placed Israel under siege.”

And so she did her best to help the occupying nuclear force Israel, the victim of the crushed, blockaded Palestinians in the following manner:

“At the UN my job was to try to work to get the UN to be more Israel-friendly, to stop passing resolutions condemning them, and to ultimately get them into various groups and all that. So there was an ongoing process.”

(Forget the crimes of Israel, none of the candidates have mentioned the plight of the Palestinian people.)

How cruel this ISIS’s granny is can be gauged from the following exchange between Albright and Lesley Stahl on CBS’ program 60 Minutes:

Stahl: “We have heard that a half a million children have died [because of sanctions against Iraq]. I mean that’s more children than died in Hiroshima. And–you know, is the price worth it?”

Albright: “I think this is a very hard choice, but the price–we think the price is worth it.”

Two UN officials resigned in protest over the cruel sanctions.

Edward S. Herman notes the vast difference between carnage carried out by Islamists and the US government.

“In this case, however, although the numbers dead are mind- boggling–the ratio of dead Iraqi children to deaths in the WTC [World Trade Center]/Pentagon bombings was better than 80 to 1, using the now obsolete early 1996 number for Iraqi children–the mainstream media and intellectuals have not found Albright’s rationalization of this mass killing of any interest whatsoever.”

When in February 1998, the UN secretary general Kofi Annan went to Iraq to meet Saddam Hussein in a move to work out an agreement whereby the sanctions against that country can be brought to an end, Albright roared:

“It is possible that he [Kofi Annan] will come with something we don’t like, in which case we will pursue our national interest.”

There was a fear among the UN officials that Albright had “developed a personal obsession with President Saddam.”

The US accused Osama bin Laden for the bombing of the US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in August 1998. Within two weeks, the Clinton administration bombed Al-Shifa Pharmaceutical Factory in Khartoum, Sudan, claiming that it produced chemical weapons and was linked to bin Laden. Neither it produced chemical weapons nor did it belonged to bin Laden. Many officials in Clinton government were against the bombing because there was no evidence to justify the bombing. Albright, along with a senior deputy, “encouraged State Department intelligence analysts to kill a report being drafted that said the bombing was not justified.”

About the destruction of Al-Shifa, a Pentagon official regretted to the New Yorker, that Albright uses force as a first resort. “Madeleine is willing to fire a missile at anybody.”

Albright’s philosophy about weapons is that if you have it, then you should use it.

Serbia, which was fighting a separatist war, was accused by the US and other Western countries of indulging in genocide and blamed for 10,000 deaths. It was a lie but the “figure became the baseline.” Albright was itching for a war and shouted at Colin Powell, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff:

“What’s the point of having this superb military you’re always talking about if we can’t use it?”

So it was used. The US went to war against Serbia. The US also created The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). The ICTY staff referred to Madeleine Albright as the “mother of the Tribunal.” Serbian leaders and others were tried though the US war criminals were exempted. (See The Dismantling of Yugoslavia.)

In 1994, between 500,000 to 800,000 Rwandans lost their lives in a genocidal killing. In July 2000, an independent panel commissioned by the Organization of African Unity charged the United States, Belgium, France, Anglican and Roman Catholic churches of intentionally preventing the killing. Albright was accused of preventing rescue mission through “stalling tactics.” Stephen Lewis, former Canadian ambassador to the United Nations and a former UNICEF official, and a member of the of the Organization of African Unity panel describes her role to Amy Goodman thus:

Both President Clinton and Madeleine Albright say that they were largely ignorant of what was happening. I don’t—forgive me, I don’t think that’s accurate.

I would have thought that there comes a point in the life of a public servant, of a diplomat, where if you know that the results of your government’s inaction would mean the death of half a million to 800,000 people, which became early and clearly evident, then either you resign, as a matter of principle, or you yell from the rooftops. You don’t share the animus of your views quietly in the corridors of Washington. And that’s what disturbed the panel about Madeleine Albright.”

The Power of Lies

It is one of history’s ironies that the Lincoln Memorial is a sacred space for the Civil Rights Movement and the site of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Lincoln did not think blacks were the equals of whites. Lincoln’s plan was to send the blacks in America back to Africa, and if he had not been assassinated, returning blacks to Africa would likely have been his post-war policy.

As Thomas DiLorenzo and a number of non-court historians have conclusively established, Lincoln did not invade the Confederacy in order to free the slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation did not occur until 1863 when opposition in the North to the war was rising despite Lincoln’s police state measures to silence opponents and newspapers. The Emancipation Proclamation was a war measure issued under Lincoln’s war powers. The proclamation provided for the emancipated slaves to be enrolled in the Union army replenishing its losses. It was also hoped that the proclamation would spread slave revolts in the South while southern white men were away at war and draw soldiers away from the fronts in order to protect their women and children. The intent was to hasten the defeat of the South before political opposition to Lincoln in the North grew stronger.

The Lincoln Memorial was built not because Lincoln “freed the slaves,” but because Lincoln saved the empire. As the Savior of the Empire, had Lincoln not been assassinated, he could have become emperor for life.

As Professor Thomas DiLorenzo writes: “Lincoln spent his entire political career attempting to use the powers of the state for the benefit of the moneyed corporate elite (the ‘one-percenters’ of his day), first in Illinois, and then in the North in general, through protectionist tariffs, corporate welfare for road, canal, and railroad corporations, and a national bank controlled by politicians like himself to fund it all.”

Lincoln was a man of empire. As soon as the South was conquered, ravaged, and looted, his collection of war criminal generals, such as Sherman and Sheridan, set about exterminating the Plains Indians in one of the worst acts of genocide in human history. Even today Israeli Zionists point to Washington’s extermination of the Plains Indians as the model for Israel’s theft of Palestine.

The War of Northern Aggression was about tariffs and northern economic imperialism. The North was protectionist. The South was free trade. The North wanted to finance its economic development by forcing the South to pay higher prices for manufactured goods. The North passed the Morrill Tariff which more than doubled the tariff rate to 32.6% and provided for a further hike to 47%. The tariff diverted the South’s profits on its agricultural exports to the coffers of Northern industrialists and manufacturers. The tariff was designed to redirect the South’s expenditures on manufactured goods from England to the higher cost goods produced in the North.

This is why the South left the union, a right of self-determination under the Constitution.

The purpose of Lincoln’s war was to save the empire, not to abolish slavery. In his first inaugural address Lincoln “made an ironclad defense of slavery.” His purpose was to keep the South in the Empire despite the Morrill Tariff. As for slavery, Lincoln said: “I have no purpose, directly or indirectly to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.” This position, Lincoln reminded his audience, was part of the 1860 Republican Party platform. Lincoln also offered his support for the strong enforcement of the Fugitive Slave Act, which required Northerners to hunt down and return runaway slaves, and he gave his support to the Corwin Amendment to the Constitution, already passed by Northern votes in the House and Senate, that prohibited any federal interference with slavery. For Lincoln and his allies, the empire was far more important than slaves.

DiLorenzo explains what the deal was that Lincoln offered to the South. However, just as empire was more important to the North than slavery, for the South avoiding large taxes on manufactured goods, in effect a tax on Southern agricultural profits, was more important than northern guarantees for slavery.

The so-called Civil War was not a civil war. In a civil war, both sides are fighting for control of the government. The South was not fighting for control of the federal government. The South seceded and the North refused to let the South go.

The reason I am writing about this is to illustrate how history is falsified in behalf of agendas. I am all for civil rights and participated in the movement while a college student. What makes me uncomfortable is the transformation of Lincoln, a tyrant who was an agent for the One Percent and was willing to destroy any and every thing in behalf of empire, into a civil rights hero. Who will be next? Hitler? Stalin? Mao? George W. Bush? Obama? John Yoo? If Lincoln can be a civil rights hero, so can be torturers. Those who murder in Washington’s wars women and children can be turned into defenders of women’s rights and child advocates. And probably they will be.

This is the twisted perverted world in which we live. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, is confronted with Washington’s overthrow of the elected government in Ukraine, a Russian ally and for centuries a part of Russia itself, while Putin is falsely accused of invading Ukraine. China is accused by Washington as a violator of human rights while Washington murders more civilians in the 21st century than every other country combined.

Everywhere in the West monstrous lies stand unchallenged. The lies are institutionalized in history books, course curriculums, policy statements, movements and causes, and in historical memory.

America will be hard pressed to survive the lies that it lives.

Government is the business of armed conflict.

Armed conflict is the only thing the government is really good at.

If government has its way, the people would be disarmed and their would be no armed conflict.

Armed conflict to punish crime is a legit function of government.

Armed conflict to provide free education or free lunch to less successful people is not legit.

Even the very elect can be easily seduced into using government (armed conflict) to get free goodies.

When the majority of people in a democracy feel entitled to a little (armed conflict) a little slave labor, a little bit of socialism...

IIHS compared this personal information against the facial photograph captured by the industry’s speed cameras to conclude that vehicles “packing more horsepower” drive faster than the posted speed limit.

And earlier this year, I warned everyone that San Francisco’s public transit agency was installing facial recognition cameras that can identify drivers and passengers through fog.

Recently in response to the events stemming from the high density of naval ships inside an extremely strategic narrow chokepoint, I flippantly re-linked to a long piece I’d written on wargaming but it’s Part Two of that opus that has just come back into focus.

The day before, I’d finished reading Richard Dolan’s short introductory overview The Secret Space Program and Breakaway Civilization.

Writing, like war-gaming, is a strong and effective approach to thinking. War-gaming allows you to try a tactic or a strategy using a method that will do no harm. No one dies; pieces get put back into the box. I’ve saved as many of the pieces as I could from all those war-games I used to play; I’m an INTP, according to the test that the shrink insisted I take, and being an INTP means that I pack away “stuff” on the chance that it will be of some value again. It will be of value very soon as the large empty table in the family room next to my office will become the playground of my kindertotten who just discovered Monopoly, one of whom has re-written the rules of Checkers (with the help of his cousin) such that “king me” has been extended into “Ace me” and “Joker me”.

A Joker is a stack of three checkers topped by a pawn. These guys are naturally deeply into free play already; imagine what will happen when they discover John Boyd. But I digressed…

Writing allows you to work something out on paper too, and if it doesn’t work, you simply crumple the paper up or delete and grab a clean screen.

Blogging is like writing. It allows you to gather a lot of information about what’s going on in the world out there and see if you can make something of it.

A lot of people have been trained and taught that one shouldn’t put writing or blog entries out into the world that haven’t been perfected, proven, polished. Many of us from our own places of perspective, education, training, and self-image tell ourselves and each other that that written output over there is incorrect, lacks critical thinking, or is [insert here you favorite form of pejorative dismissal].

But writing and blogging can be a place where outlandish new ideas are put out into the social milieu in a way that enables further correction, re-construction, more game-playing, re-writing. They get other people to think and say “No, that’s not right because…” or maybe “that might be right; here’s another piece of confirmatory data” or, better yet, “that analysis needs to be re-jumbled and it will tell you this”.

People often don’t know what to make of what I say. People have not known what to make of me since I was a toddler. I’m used to it.

Allegations of cover-up by lead investigator

Kenneth Starr’s at-the-time lead investigator, US attorney Miguel Rodriguez,[8] emphatically disagreed with Starr’s conclusion that Foster committed suicide, referring to photographs and medical testimony suggesting a second gunshot wound on Foster’s neck, evidence he asserts Starr suppressed.[9] Concerning the cover-up, he wrote in his resignation letter, “As an ethical person, I don’t believe I could be involved in what they were doing.”[10]

Other theories

James Norman, former senior editor at Forbes Magazine, discussed[11] and wrote about Vince Foster having a Swiss bank account and possible espionage.[12] An FBI interview report by agent Russell Bransford and a handwritten note from the Office of Independent Counsel found at the National Archives refer to Vincent Foster’s Swiss bank account.[13]

The comments of Patrick Knowlton, a grand jury witness who had been at the park where Foster’s body was found, were included as part of Starr’s Report over Starr’s objection. Judge John D. Butzner wrote to Judges Peter Fay and David Sentelle after Knowlton submitted a motion that his comments be included as part of an appendix to the final report, “I suspect that if we deny this motion we will be charged as conspirators in the cover-up,” and concluded “I suggest we let the motion and attachments speak for themselves.”[14] Judge Peter Fay wrote that Knowlton contradicted “specific factual matters and takes issue with the very basics of the report” filed by Kenneth Starr.[15] Knowlton’s comments were ordered[16]included as part of the official report on September 26, 1997. Two days later, Kenneth Starr filed a 9-page motion[17] to appeal that the comments by Knowlton not be included in the report. The next day, Starr’s motion was denied[18] and Knowlton’s comments were included as part of the final official Report on the Death of Vincent W. Foster.[19]

John H. Clarke, attorney for Patrick Knowlton, argued that by using the FBI, the Office of Independent Counsel employed “the very agency it [was] designed to be independent from, the Justice Department.”[20] Clark further stated “The investigation under the auspices of…Mr. Fiske was little more than an FBI investigation. Publicly available official federal government records indicate that throughout the 16-day U.S. Park Police investigation into the case, FBI participation was significant.[21] Attorney Clarke’s letter argues, “The publicly available federal government record upon which the Fiske Report is based is replete with evidence that the FBI concealed the true facts surrounding Mr. Foster’s death.”[22]

The Arkansas Project

On May 2, 1999, the Washington Post published new details on the pursuit of a Vincent Foster conspiracy in an article by David Brock, a key figure in the Troopergate and Whitewater scandals whose disillusionment with the political corruption motivating what would come to be known as the Arkansas Project ended his lifelong commitment to the Conservative movement and facilitated public dissemination of insider details on G.O.P. machinations. The article explains how Brock was “summoned” to a meeting with Rex Armistead in Miami, Florida at an airport hotel. Brock claims that Armistead laid out for him an elaborate “Vince Foster murder scenario” – a scenario that he found implausible.[23]

In an interview for Salon.com in 2000, Brock also revealed that he and Armistead received funding throughout Clinton’s two terms in office from Richard Scaife for the initiative known as the Arkansas Project.[24] The Project aimed to discredit the sitting president and first lady through investigations into a range of issues that could potentially prove problematic for the couple, from rehashed drug smuggling allegations to their long-standing relationship with Foster and other professionals/officials in Arkansas.

Another prominent reporter to have received funds from Scaife was Christopher W. Ruddy[25] – a former writer for the Scaife-owned Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (and later founder of NewsMax). Eventually, Scaife became the third-largest stockholder of Ruddy’s Newsmax;[26] and both NewsMax and the WorldNetDaily continued to publish materials that showed the Clintons in a negative light.[27]



Ruddy also enjoyed the backing of Joseph Farah and Farah’s organization, the Western Journalism Center. This group supplied him with “additional expense money, funding for Freedom of Information Act requests, legal support and publicity” around his book deal & the requisite research into a conspiracy surrounding Foster’s death.[28] He published his findings in 1997 under the title The Strange Death of Vincent Foster (pub. Simon & Schuster).[29] In the book, he discusses mistakes and transgressions that occurred in the original investigations – in particular, alleged obstruction of justice by White House Counsel Bernard Nussbaum – but stops short of positing an original theory on the circumstances surrounding Foster’s death. Distracted by Election 2016, No-one Resisted the Deep State’s Patriot Act 2

Congress overwhelmingly voted for the Patriot Act nearly 16 years ago, and our civil liberties have never been the same since. As if this singular bill, passed by George W. Bush, wasn’t invasive enough, allowing big banks to demand our internet data, and more — the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA) makes cyber-spying by the shadow government and the financial entities controlling it, a forgone conclusion.

As with most shadow government legislation, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act is packed with hidden surveillance allowances. CISA was quietly passed to allow government to demand that private companies hand over personal information to them at will. It also allows companies to mine data, under the auspices of government-created urgency.




The mere fact that this act passed in late 2015 is monumental, since it has been before Congress in different forms for over a decade. The election seems to have offered the perfect cover, as Americans and activists were too busy arguing over Trump vs. Hillary.

Scott Talbott, senior vice president of government relations at the Electronic Transactions Association believes the value of sharing our personal data as a means to be alerted of ‘cyber threats’ outweighs any hazard to our civil liberties. Talbott states,

“The value is that everyone can be alerted to cyber threats and take precautionary countermeasures before they materialize and spread,” he said. “Before CISA, corrective measures could be taken only after the cyber threat had done its damage. CISA allows each company to serve as an early warning system to the entire economy.”

Who exactly would be determining if someone is a ‘threat’ is the meat of the sandwich, though. CISA is ripe for abuse, just as the Patriot Act has been.

The Patriot Act has made it legal for law enforcement to spy on people, without probable cause – to enter their homes, or even to strip search them before they’ve been to court, had the opportunity to argue a case, or given ‘authorities’ a motive for this type of interrogation.

The stated purpose of the Patriot Act was to deter terrorist acts in the United States, but what do you do when the terrorists have already taken over your country? CISA simply expands the reach of a shadow government which has already been proven to reach beyond the boundaries of constitutional law.

More importantly, who specifically is CISA targeting? After multiple hack­ers have in­filt­rated com­puter sys­tems at the White House, the State De­part­ment, the Pentagon, and the Of­fice of Per­son­nel Man­age­ment, along with the Democratic National Committee, and numerous multinational banks run by the cabal, is the shadow government simply

Malheur acquittals raise stakes for next year’s trial in Nevada and beyond

I was nearly killed earlier this year while counter-protesting the paramilitary seizure of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon. After accusing me of being an FBI agent, the armed occupiers there worked themselves into a mob. Hog-faced militia thugs barked, “he’s a fed.” Some pawed their pistols. I was told snipers were trained on us. It was dangerously close to violence.

For weeks last January a small rag-tag group of public lands supporters protested the Malheur occupiers. There was a handful of us, and dozens of them—all 30 miles from the nearest law enforcement. We crashed press conferences, staged counter protests, and marched into their occupied barracks with signs. We were threatened, harassed, blasted with bull horns and trailed by thugs with assault rifles.

We saw first-hand what was live-streamed to the world: An illegal paramilitary seizure of one of the crown jewels of our national wildlife refuge system, and the months-long social, cultural, economic, and environmental terrorization of an entire community. So, like many others, I was jarred by last Thursday’s acquittal of seven defendants: How could such an obvious, video-taped crime could go unpunished? Here’s how: Federal fumbling.

The Bundy clan and their followers peddle a dangerous brand of radicalism. Their core ideas—that the federal government lacks authority to own public land, and that county sheriffs are the highest form of law enforcement—are rooted in hard-right racist ideologies created to sidestep federal civil rights laws by elevating local authority. They’re perfectly suited to ranchers, like Cliven Bundy, who refused to pay deeply subsidized federal grazing fees.



After Cliven Bundy’s 2014 Nevada standoff—where militia thugs with assault rifles stood down federal officials corralling Cliven’s illegally-grazing cows—the Obama administration did nothing. The standoff was a big win for anti-government militants, and in the two years following, facing no arrests or federal enforcement, the movement grew, spawning the Malheur seizure last winter.

There, the kids-gloves stayed on. Militants were free to come and go from the refuge. They visited town, harassed locals, and crashed community meetings armed. They held press conferences, trenched Burns Paiute sacred sites, and shook hands with the FBI in front of news cameras. And because refuge employees were told to stay home, the jury could cynically find that the lynchpin charge in the government’s boldly-narrow prosecution—that occupiers had conspired to impede federal employees from doing their jobs—wasn’t supported by evidence.

All of this—the federal inaction following the Nevada standoff, the cradling of the Bundy’s media circus at Malheur, and the government’s over-confident bungling of the ensuing prosecution—sets a dangerous and far-reaching precedent for the kind of paramilitary intimidation and right-wing violence that underpins their movement. Social change in America depends on nonviolent civil disobedience, like the brutal struggles of indigenous activists in North Dakota and Black Lives Matter activists throughout the U.S. But right-wing paramilitary intimidation is different. It’s a stepping stone toward fascism, not nonviolent civil disobedience. Its rise should concern anyone who cares about America’s public lands, civil rights, and a political system that refuses to be bullied by violenc

When it comes to aiding Israeli Apartheid, American Express is just another brick in The Wall, according to a new report.

Roger Waters, lead singer behind Pink Floyd, lost a multimillion dollar American Express sponsorship for his 2017 US+Them tour after expressing solidarity this month with Palestinian students trying to end Israel’s apartheid system of military occupation using the same protest tactic that helped dismantle South African Apartheid (and, earlier, America’s Jim Crow): Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, or BDS.

“I’m going to send out all of my most heartfelt love and support to all those young people on the campuses of the universities of California who are standing up for their brothers and sisters in Palestine and supporting the BDS movement,” Rogers said, according to CBS News, “in the hope that we may encourage the government of Israel to end the occupation.”

American Express decided it would be a good idea to leak the cancellation of the contract to the New York Post, where Page Six’s Emily Smith has the exclusive story.
