Travelers Alarmed as Federal Agents Check IDs After Domestic Flight Lands - WSJ
Passengers arriving on a Delta flight from San Francisco to John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday night were asked by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials to produce identification as they exited the plane.

The request—in the context of sweeping changes to U.S. immigration policies under the administration of President Donald Trump—was met with confusion, alarm and speculation by some passengers.

There was, however, a solid reason for the ID check.

According to a statement from Customs and Border Protection, an immigration judge had ordered a person—who had been convicted of domestic assault, driving while impaired and a violation of an order of protection—to be removed from the plane and taken into custody.

An underground network is readying homes to hide immigrants - CNN.com
Los Angeles (CNN)A hammer pounds away in the living room of a middle class home. A sanding machine smoothes the grain of the wood floor in the dining room.

But this home Pastor Ada Valiente is showing off in Los Angeles, with its refurbished floors, is no ordinary home.
"It would be three families we host here," Valiente says.

Women must take control and prepare to defend themselves. We are entering a very dangerous time and we are all responsible for our own safety and lives.

Sweden: Woman Brutally Gang Raped, Racially Abused; Police Not Interested » Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!
However, according to Lamotte, a concerned mother who first brought the video to the attention of police in Gothenburg was shocked to see that they were disinterested and “sat and ate cheetos” while being seemingly more bothered by her for reporting the incident.

The mother told police that it would be possible to trace one of the culprits via his Snapchat account, but that the officers “were more interested in watching TV.”

The mother never heard anything back from police and when Lamotte personally investigated the incident, he discovered it was being treated as “aggravated rape” but that “no one even has begun working with the case yet”.

GE, Intel, AT&T team up to put cameras, mics in San Diego | Reuters
General Electric will put cameras, microphones and sensors on 3,200 street lights in San Diego this year, marking the first large-scale use of "smart city" tools GE says can help monitor traffic and pinpoint crime, but raising potential privacy concerns.

Based on technology from GE's Current division, Intel Corp and AT&T Inc, the system will use sensing nodes on light poles to locate gunshots, estimate crowd sizes, check vehicle speeds and other tasks, GE and the city said on Wednesday. The city will provide the data to entrepreneurs and students to develop applications.

Companies expect a growing market for such systems as cities seek better data to plan and run their operations. San Diego is a test of "internet of things" technology that GE Current provides for commercial buildings and industrial sites.

A poisonous conviction is taking root in the Left | Daily Mail Online
Back in the 18th century, political reformer Henry Fox was advocating giving the vote to more people. But only, he insisted, to what he called ‘the better sort’. Not ‘the mob or the mere dregs of the people’. Heaven forbid!

Now, in the 21st century, such derogatory sentiments about ‘the people’ are dangerously back in fashion — ever since they dared vote for Brexit in Britain, and for Donald Trump in the United States.

Questions are being asked in high places about whether ordinary voters are fit to make decisions on major issues.

Liberal Protesters Freak After Town Hall Opens With A Prayer | The Daily Caller
Liberal protesters became enraged when a Louisiana town hall with Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy opened with a prayer earlier this week, screaming at the chaplain as he tried to lead the crowd in prayer.

The protesters, who were there with a local chapter of anti-Trump group Indivisible, can be heard groaning and shouting as the chaplain says, “In God we trust.” One man can be heard saying, “Pray on your own time!” Others shouted incredulously, “Prayer? Prayer?”

Video of the event, first reported by The Washington Free Beacon, reveals one woman shouting the name “Lucifer” while the chaplain invokes God’s name. Other, non-protesting attendees can be heard trying to shush the protesters.

Protesters can be heard shouting about “separation of church and state” throughout the prayer. They became especially furious when the chaplain closed the prayer “in Jesus’s name.”

I have no intention of obeying a government that would forbid me to pray or attend church, for example.

Keith Ellison: Black People Don't Have To Obey Government | The Daily Caller
Democratic congressman and DNC chair front-runner Keith Ellison once said that “black people don’t live in a democracy” and “don’t have an obligation” to obey the government.

Ellison made the comments at a 1992 protest after white police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King. At least 63 people died in the racially charged riots following the verdict.

Minnesota newspaper the Star Tribune quotes Ellison as telling a group of protesters in Minneapolis that “Black people do not live under a democracy.”

“You don’t have an obligation to obey a government that considers you to be less than human,” Ellison said.

DNC Senior Adviser: Trump 'So Emasculated' by Putin 'He Has to Come Back and Pick on' Transgendered Kids - Breitbart
On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” DNC Senior Adviser and head of the Democrats’ Trump War Room Zac Petkanas reacted to President Trump revoking President Obama’s guidelines on transgendered students by stating, “Donald Trump is not only a monster, but he’s a coward. We’re talking about somebody who is so emasculated by Vladimir Putin…that he has to come back and pick on vulnerable kids.”

Fox News Interview With Fake Expert on Sweden Further Baffles Swedes

Image

A man interviewed by Bill O’Reilly of Fox News this week, who was identified in an on-screen caption as a “Swedish Defense and National Security Advisor,” turns out to be entirely unknown in his native country, with no connections to either the nation’s defense or security services.

As the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported on Friday, Nils Bildt, who echoed President Donald Trump’s debunked claim that immigrants from Muslim majority nations had driven a rise in violent crime in Sweden, has no known expertise in national security, and has not lived in his homeland since 1994. Officials at the Swedish Defense Ministry and Foreign Office told the newspaper they have never heard of this “unknown Bildt.”

Feds Spending $393,790 Studying Transwomen in Uganda
"[T]he almost complete lack of research examining the HIV risk of sexual minority women and transgender people is also problematic," the grant for the Uganda study states. "Despite assumptions that sexual minority women are not at risk for HIV, compelling seroprevalence and HIV risk behavior data suggest otherwise."

The researchers argue that the few studies of transgender individuals in Africa have incorrectly classified biological men who think they are women as men in scientific research.

"[O]f the handful of studies that have been published on African transgender people, all but one included these women under the rubric of [men who have sex with men] MSM," the grant states. "Individuals who self-identify as women should not be classified in research as men."

Shock: Man Who Helped Funnel Chinese Money to Clinton Made 'insurance policy' Video Fearing Assassination » Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!
Author and historian Doug Wead recently got his hands on bombshell video footage which shows Bill Clinton’s former money man Johnny Chung spilling the beans on a deal he helped facilitate between the former US president and the Chinese back in 1996.
Chung shot the video in 2000 as an insurance policy amidst fears he would be assassinated for his knowledge of “China-gate.”
The Chinese-American businessman gave details of the illegal operation on film, before it was duplicated and distributed to his close friends and family members in a secret video.

'Amazon should stop selling Holocaust denial books' - Diaspora - Jerusalem Post
Mentioning that Yad Vashem had – in vain – broached the issue with Amazon soon after the latter’s founding, Rozett told The Jerusalem Post that in light of an unfortunate change in climate with more visible antisemitism, “maybe the time is a little more ripe for them to take up the idea that they need to be more careful in what they sell.”

Radical Leftists Are Warning That The Trump Years Will Be ‘Apocalyptic’ – And They Just Might Be Right
Is the United States about to plunge into an apocalyptic nightmare from which it may never recover? During the Obama era conservatives often warned of such scenarios, but now things have completely shifted. At the moment, conservatives are generally more optimistic than they have been in many years, but quite a few liberals are warning that the Trump years could have absolutely disastrous consequences for this country. They are concerned that Trump’s policies could burst the giant debt bubble that we have been living in and trigger economic collapse, they are concerned that widespread civil unrest could soon erupt in our cities, they are concerned that our rapidly deteriorating environment and major natural disasters could soon kill millions, and they are also concerned that faltering relationships with other nations could lead us into World War III.

Of course leftists are generally wrong about just about everything, but in this case they might be exactly correct.

The truth is that our world is becoming increasingly unstable with each passing week, and this time around it is conservatives that are guilty of reckless optimism.

Just because Donald Trump has been elected does not mean that everything around us is going to be transformed into some sort of utopia. Anyone that is guilty of this kind of thinking is simply delusional.

So as much as it pains me to say it, these days it is often liberals that have a more accurate assessment of what the times immediately ahead of us are going to be like. And while many conservatives have totally given up on preparing for the difficult times that are coming, many liberals have suddenly become extraordinarily interested in emergency food, water filters and guns. They are extremely concerned about what America is going to look like in a few years, and the mainstream media is starting to do stories about their rising anxiety. The following is an excerpt from a Christian Science Monitor article entitled “In age of Trump, apocalyptic rhetoric becomes mainstream“…

Audio: Anti-Trump Forces Fake A Hostile Republican Town Hall | The Daily Caller
Leaked audio from an anti-Trump protest group meeting reveals activists with anti-Trump group Indivisible plotting how to best manufacture a hostile environment at a town hall with Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on Friday.

The audio, obtained by local radio station KPEL, reveals a coordinated effort to create the public impression that Cassidy’s support for Trump is unpopular with his constituents. The activists, who describe themselves as liberals in the audio, can be heard strategizing how to best turn a local town hall into a political victory.

The activists split up into an “inside team” — tasked with occupying “as many seats as we can” and an “outside team,” whose job was to “give [the media] the coverage they want” before joining the others inside. Activists were instructed to dress like conservatives and leave at home “any signifier that you’re a liberal” in order to blend in with constituents.

The leftist activists strategized how best to “dominate” the question-and-answer section of the town hall and keep anyone “sympathetic” to Cassidy from asking a question.

New York Times Romanticizes Ideology That Murdered 100 Million Innocent People
It has been nearly 100 years since the February Revolution in Russia, which was used by Vladimir Lenin’s Bolsheviks to launch a coup in 1917, beginning a century of communist rule around the world marked by social decay, famine, and genocide.

The New York Times is commemorating this coming anniversary with a new series of articles on communism, the first of which on Feb. 24 omits any mention of the crimes against humanity committed under communist rule. Instead, it writes glowingly about the ideals of communism and asks whether we will see the “phoenix rise from the ash heap of history.”

Most of the world agrees Adolf Hitler was a monster whose totalitarian regime systematically murdered 6 million Jews, among other victims. All told, 11 million people died in the Holocaust.

Passwords may no longer be necessary when your phone, computer just recognize you | McClatchy DC
SAN FRANCISCO
The things that make human beings unique – fingerprints, irises, facial features – have become the preferred way to sign onto banking accounts online or other sensitive websites, the newest solution to the problem of hackable and forgettable passwords.

But your fingerprints can be stolen, your photo replicated. Now cyber experts are looking at the next security step: cellphones and computers that actually recognize you from a variety of factors.

Your smartphone now gathers more information about you than you probably realize.

Spain appoints SEX TSAR to encourage couples to have more nookie to boost country's 'catastrophically' low birth rate - Mirror Online
Spain has appointed a ‘sex tsar’ to help boost the country's "catastrophically low" birth rate .

Young couples have reportedly blamed being "too tired after a full day at work" and "late nights" for the decrease.

So, faced with a rapidly declining population, the Senado de Espana has tasked demographic expert Edelmira Barreira with sorting out the problem.

The move comes after the country reported a higher number of deaths than births for the first time in 2015.

Welcome Aboard, But First US Marshals Will Scan Your Retina | Foundation for Economic Education
This time was different. Halfway down the jetbridge, there was a new layer of security. Two US Marshals, heavily armed and dressed in dystopian-style black regalia, stood next to an upright machine with a glowing green eye. Every passenger, one by one, was told to step on a mat and look into the green scanner. It was scanning our eyes and matching that scan with the passport, which was also scanned (yet again).

Like everyone else, I complied. What was my choice? I guess I could have turned back at the point, decline to take the flight I had paid for, but it would be unclear what would then happen. After standing there for perhaps 8 seconds, the machine gave the go signal and I boarded.

I talked to a few passengers about this and others were just as shaken by the experience. They were reticent even to talk about it, as people tend to be when confronted with something like this.

Tech giants must tackle cyberbullies or face curbs | News | The Times & The Sunday Times
Social media and technology companies face sanctions unless they do more to curb cyberbullying, sexting and trolling, as part of a new internet safety strategy.

Ministers are to summon Facebook, Twitter, Apple and others to Whitehall and will demand that they develop new technological solutions similar to those used to thwart paedophiles and terrorists.

The call will be backed by the threat of legislation, with a green paper promised in the summer. Theresa May will commit today to making Britain the safest place in the world for children to be online.

Doctors could prescribe houses to the homeless under radical Hawaii bill | US news | The Guardian
Cases such as these have prompted a groundbreaking new proposal in Hawaii. Instead of prescribing medication to homeless patients like Williams, what if doctors could prescribe something else that might ameliorate their health problems more effectively? The prescription would be housing.

With this aim in mind, a state senator, Josh Green, has introduced a bill to classify homelessness as a medical condition. Green, who is also a physician, said the idea originated in his own work in the emergency room, where he saw many homeless patients arrive for treatment of basic conditions at great expense, but no real long-term benefit. “I’m really just applying a band-aid,” he said of his medical work. “But these problems require intensive long-term support.”

Wendy's to install ordering kiosks in 1,000 stores this year
Wendy's plans to install self-ordering kiosks in 1,000 of its stores — about 16 percent of its locations — by the end of the year.

The Dublin-based burger giant started offering kiosks last year, and demand for the technology has been high from both customers and franchise owners.

"There is a huge amount of pull from (franchisees) in order to get them," David Trimm, Wendy's chief information officer, said last week during the company's investors' day.

"With the demand we are seeing ... we can absolutely see our way to having 1,000 or more restaurants live with kiosks by the end of the year."
