Dark... Loud... and action packed. What a night

Postby sadie_Mormon » Fri Jul 20, 2012 8:05 am

What a way to wake up on a Friday morning. Just terrible! Imagine it's dark, loud, and action packed... it wouldn't hit you immediate that something was actually happening. Very scary.

Now you know the gun topic is going to be fueled with this event. They'll use this as another reason why people shouldn't carry guns.

My prayers go out to all these families.

The violent and chaotic scene erupted about 12:30 a.m. local time as the gunman stood at the front of one of the Century 16 theaters at the Aurora Mall. Witnesses reported that the gas-mask-wearing gunman entered the theater through an emergency exit door and threw a gas canister before opening fire.

"Witnesses tell us he released some sort of canister. They heard a hissing sound and some gas emerged and the gunman opened fire," Oates said.

The shooting occurred in Theater 9, which has a capacity of around 300 people, according to CBS station KCNC-TV in Denver. The youngest reported victim is a 3-month-old, who is said to be doing fine at University Hospital, which is treating 20 patients, including nine in critical condition. Another victim is a six-year-old being treated at Children's Hospital, where a total of six victims were taken. Their condition wasn't known. Victims were rushed to six area hospitals overall.

Benjamin Fernandez, who was also in an adjacent theater, said he saw a young girl, around 12 or 13 years old, laying on the concrete when he exited the building.

"From what I saw, she had two bullet wounds in her leg and just blood all over her stomach. Her friends were all just yelling, crying. ... We were just all pretty much in shock," he said on "CBS This Morning."

Yes, I'm very interested and will be looking for wordsmithing by the Big O re: right to bear arms in his press conference today.

This is the very reason TO responsibly carry.

A couple of concealed carries and that guy would not be in police custody. And less dead people.

Odd. Not wanting to start any conspiracy theories, but early versions of the story mentioned two gunmen, one in custody and one still at large. Now I am only seeing reference to one gunman.

Interesting I didn't see them say 2 but then again I started watching it around 5am. I would think that initially they would think this was an act of more than one person. I'm sure things will become more clear as the days move forward.

Certainly not to lessen the impact of so horrific an event...but, WHY were there so many young children at a midnight show?

I cannot find the source, but the text I read I do have a copy of...

Midnight showing of new Batman movie on it's release and on the first appearance of batman 2 gunmen wearing bullet proof vests and gasmasks lobbed teargas grenades and started firing randomly into the crowd with military style rifles. Among the dead are children and a baby. One gunman in custody, the other on the loose.

Now it appears the source may have been simply Twitter, and yet it seems quite detailed, first mentioning the two gunmen, then also mentioning one in custody and one still on the loose. So it could have just been an inaccurate account of a witness.

That was the first thing that popped in my mind is why so many young children out that late for a movie. Can you imagine how tramatic an experience this was and that they will never forget it. There was one baby injured too. From what I read they were showing the last couple of batman movies before the midnight showing so I'm sure more than a few were there for many hours.

What makes this so different then other situations is that it was dark the movie was very loud and with lots of action. You wouldn't really realize what was going on at first. That's just scary to me. It's dark and people are tripping over each other as everyone is being shot at panicing not knowing which way to turn. It must have been just horrible for those people.

Why open fire on a bunch of ordinary folk?

Most emergency exits open OUTWARD....it would have to have been opened by someone from the inside. At all of the theaters I have been to, NONE even have handles on the outside of emergency doors....they are only meant to let people OUT, not in.
This whole story has the stench of false flag all over it.

Or could it have been that he went to a movie earlier in the day and somehow rigged the door so that he'd be able to open it from outside? It's possible.

There was speculation that someone opened the door 15mins prior and waved at someone. Speculation, but right now most stories seem to be really short on facts and long on hearsay. The story also seems to be getting drowned out by calls for gun control too. :ymsick:

At the news conference held by the Police Chief, FBI, and others, the police chief said that someone with a concealed weapon could have stopped what was going on. So----at least he feels that way.

Only one person. A nutcase who was a Joker-wannabe. He could have gone in earlier and propped the door open just enough to get in later.

There was a 3 month old baby that was released from the hospital. Apparently, the youngest death was a 6 year old girl.

I watched a video of two witnesses being interviewed. How horrific for them.

And society isn't going to get any better. The answer isn't in gun control (he would have used something else to kill the people if he hadn't been able to get guns). The answer is in us, as a people (and individually) turning to God, repenting of our wicked ways, humbling ourselves enough to hear that we aren't as good as we think we are. But it can only be done one heart at a time; we cannot control any heart but our own.
Peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high;

This is what the news I read this afternoon said.

Now I am reading that he was part of Occupy San Diego, and upset that Occupy Wall Street movement was not radical/violent enough. He picked the Batman movie ebcause the Occupy movement is treated as silly & misguided by the main characters...
Yet no one at Occupy San Diego seems to know this guy as part of their group....

http://blog.doodooecon.com/2012/07/former-occupy-san-diego-member-attacks.html

Have youn't guys (and Joel Skousen/Alex Jones, etc) been saying that the PTB will have terror attacks and rights "caused" by Occupy Wall Street, in order to justify accelerating the crackdown and police state?

The guy was a phD candidate in neuroscience. He was also active in a radical Occupy movement. Could someone have "programmed" him to do this? Mayor Bloomberg of NYC was immediately calling for gun control. You know that the number one talking point of the dems will now be gun control.

Seems like a good possibility, although I wouldn't put it on either political party. The finger points to the United Nations' gun control agenda.
