Is the moon turned to blood or is it dark?

We often assume that the moon being turned to blood and being darkened are the same but no so.....

In the main sequence leading up to the coming of the Bridegroom we see a variation on the condition of the moon. It is characterized as either being red or as not giving it’s light at all. Because both conditions are part of the same sequence they are oft times used interchangeably in scripture.
