Re: Are we sinning enough yet?
Many LDS members dont know a whole lot about the gospel they go to church for other reasons. Good social environment, all their neighbors go, good place to raise kids in are just to name a few. A temple recommend is something to get for appearances and pretty much a joke to them as it is easy to get, just lie to the Bishop he wont know any different. This is why you see some members behave the way they do about gays etc. They ignorantly make themselves look like fools.

It's those 30-40 year-olds who are totally ignorant; at least in my Ward.

You seem to be painting with a fairly broad stroke here. What % of active members is "many"?Gage wrote: ↑May 16th, 2017, 6:12 am Many LDS members dont know a whole lot about the gospel they go to church for other reasons. I do not know that, 'Is it they who are well who need a Doctor, or is it the sick?' If we were to follow our perfect ex-sampler, the Messiah, He went out unto the sinners, seeking those with a humble heart.Sarah wrote: ↑May 15th, 2017, 10:04 amRight, and the best place to cry repentance is in your Stake in Zion and home ward. We shouldn't underestimate the influence that one righteous individual or family can have on a ward. I've seen how a righteous family's example stirred in other ward members a desire to raise their own bar.Kingdom of ZION wrote: ↑May 14th, 2017, 7:52 pmDo not count me in with your "WE"!
I do not feel it is a competition to see who can qualify to go to hell!
WE should be down on our faces praying for yourselves, our families, our friends, or enemies, and this country, to REPENT and for REPENTANCE!
As for when do you think G_d is going to bring judgment upon the Gentiles Saints? Sooner than you really should not hope for, for then shall almost all shall be cutoff out from the land of the living, many in their sins, and hell and damnation shall be their eternal reward, and we will ALL mourn in that day. If not for ones self, then for one's love one, for great shall be our sadness, and not one person shall not be touched and afflicted of soul.
Have you cried repentance all the day long that the blood of this generation shall not be found upon your garments?
You are not under the commission to cry repentance unto this Generation, so feeling to administer where you do is well. But it is the men who have been called and should seek to cry repentance unto this generation, and I am quite sure that that is not a commission to seek first to administer unto those who have already been saved, for we are to seek those who if they will not hearken unto the voice of warning will have no excuse, and their sins will not be upon them and not us, for the messenger is guiltless having done all that he can to warned them.

Just from what I observe from a local ward and through the internet. Read on the ex Mormon web sites and you will learn real fast why many people went to church and it wasnt for their testimony of the truth. Read what these ex members say- they are truly the people scriptures are talking about when they describe the evil generation. These folks have turned to lovers of self, believe their is no sin, praise homosexuality and immorality. You read many posts in here about how members in their wards and neighborhoods have become. You read articles about women demanding the Priesthood like the church is a social club that should have equal rights. Maybe its just me I dont know. I cannot fathom how a true believing member can not understand the church's views on gays or how someone can denounce their faith over issues with blacks years ago. It would seem to me that they didnt have as much of a testimony as they may had led on or thought they had. Everyone wants to go the way of the world and with what is popular in the world. Many folks dont see "the world" and worldly views as evil. When I was younger I wondered how members would be fooled into entering the "church" of the devil. I used to wonder how will so many be deceived, I guess I assumed Satan himself would be standing at the front door. Well now I know.

Just a little hint: Stop going to ex-Mormon sites. It's a sewer you don't need to wade through.

Re: Are we sinning enough yet?
I think there are a few things that need to happen before the coming of the Lord, but I agree with many of our current prophets that we are plenty wicked enough for the Lord to come at any time.Gage wrote: ↑May 8th, 2017, 10:29 am The scriptures tell us how evil the generation will be in the last days and clearly we are headed in that direction if not there but I wonder if we havent seen the half of it yet. A man can marry a man and there is plenty of adultery, sex and persecution going around but is it just a fraction of what is to come? I wonder how much worse it needs to get for the Lord to say thats enough or has he already had this thought. I know many things must happen before the Lord comes but I wonder if this generation is close to the evil that was said it would be.
The traditional family is under heavy attack. I do not know that things were worse in the times of Sodom and Gomorrah. … We see similar conditions today. They prevail all across the world. I think our Father must weep as He looks down upon His wayward sons and daughters. (Gordon B. Hinckley, Worldwide Leadership Training Meeting, 10 Jan. 2004, 20)
We live in a season when fierce men do terrible and despicable things. We live in a season of war. We live in a season of arrogance. We live in a season of wickedness, pornography, immorality. All of the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah haunt our society. Our young people have never faced a greater challenge. We have never seen more clearly the lecherous face of evil. (Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, Nov 2001, 4)
Nothing happened in Sodom and Gomorrah which exceeds in wickedness and depravity that which surrounds us now.
Words of profanity, vulgarity, and blasphemy are heard everywhere. Unspeakable wickedness and perversion were once hidden in dark places; now they are in the open, even accorded legal protection.
At Sodom and Gomorrah these things were localized. Now they are spread across the world, and they are among us. (Boyd K. Packer Address to CES religious educators, Feb. 6, 2004, 4)
