You are wrong. The visit to Jerusalem, defeating the force that was finally victorious after a three and a half year siege, is not the Second Coming. It is one of many prophesied events that will precede the Second Coming.alaris wrote: ↑May 19th, 2017, 8:12 amThere are and will be many signs of the second coming just like the Lord will appear to the saints before He appears to the world. The deliverance of Jerusalem is one of the pinnacle events of the second coming when the mount of olives is split and the Jews flee to safety and ask Him what are these wounds in your hands? Certainly the sign of His coming will be before that.
Edit:
Zechariah 13:6
And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.Zechariah 14:4-5
4 ¶ And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.So firstly, the two witnesses could die around this same time and see the Lord or even His coming or the sign of His coming to meet the requirement of "till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." You have to have a rather narrow interpretation of the timeline and to whom He appears when to say this couldn't happen.“All [the prophets] speak of [this day]; and when that time comes, the Lord is going to come out of His hiding place. You can see what a terrible condition it is going to be; and the Jews besieged, not only in Jerusalem but, of course, throughout Palestine are in the siege; and when they are about to go under, then the Lord comes. There will be the great earthquake. The earthquake will not be only in Palestine. There will not be merely the separation of the Mount of Olives, to form a valley that the Jews may escape, but the whole earth is going to be shaken. There will be some dreadful things take place, and some great changes are going to take place, and that you will find written in the book of Ezekiel (38:17–23).” (Joseph Fielding Smith, Signs of the Times, p. 170.)
At the Second Coming all wickedness will be destroyed, the Earth will become Telestialized, the Savior will come to the temple in Zion, and many other events will happen. But when the Savior comes to Jerusalem He will destroy the invading army, split the Mount of Olives, and show the surviving Jews that their ancestors really did execute Him.
There are several cases of Jesus visiting people on Earth since Joseph Smith's first visitation, and many more will happen before He returns to usher in the millennium. None of these count as the Second Coming.
