Isn't killing people fun?

Well, it's fun as long as the people being killed isn't you. Or rather, it's fun if you're a Rothschild billionaire speaking at a conference full of financial folks that make money off of war. (reference: We are a warlike people by Spencer W. Kimball)

Wilbur Ross: Trump's Syria Strike Was "After Dinner Entertainment"
by Tyler Durden
May 2, 2017 8:23 AM

In a statement that has sent shockwaves across the diplomatic establishment, Donald Trump's decision to launch 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles against Syria last month was just “after-dinner entertainment,” which “did not cost the president anything,” US commerce secretary Wilbur Ross said, shortly after President Trump called the attack a “tough decision.” Ross delivered the controversial comment while speaking at the Milken Institute Global Conference on Monday, according to Variety.

This is how Ross recalled Trump’s April 6 meeting with Xi at the President's Mar-A-Lago luxury resort in Palm Beach:

“Just as dessert was being served, the president explained to Mr. Xi he had something he wanted to tell him, which was the launching of 59 missiles into Syria,” Ross said. “It was in lieu of after-dinner entertainment.”

As the crowd laughed, Ross added: “The thing was, it didn’t cost the president anything to have that entertainment” despite unofficial estimates that the cost of the strike ranged from roughly $60 million to $100 million depending on which Tomahawk missile modification was used.

Ross, a former billionaire hedge fund manager, is new to government service as his remarks suggest. In the Milken lunchtime conversation with David Rubenstein, co-CEO of the Carlyle Group, Ross reflected on his first impressions of public service.

“I’ve been heartened,” he said. “I thought the quality of people in the government was not as high as it has turned out to be. There are actually quite a lot of very good, very serious, very intelligent people wanting to do their best. It’s just they’ve been trapped in a fundamentally dysfunctional system.” Like blowing up people for fun, for example.

Ross' comments were delivered shortly after President Trump described his decision to attack Syria as a “tough” choice, since the “wrong people” could be killed. Trump made the comments during an interview with CBS’ Face the Nation host John Dickerson.

“But most importantly, you know, the decisions. Like, when I make the decision to go with Syria, the 59 Tomahawk missiles. Unbelievable technology. We have unbelievable talent. But those are tough decisions. Those aren’t, like, decisions that I’m going to buy a building…”

“Tough, why?” Dickerson interrupted.

“Because it’s human lives,” Trump continued. “You’re killing people. And you can kill the wrong people, too,” he added. It was not immediately clear if civilian casualties would double the entertainment value. (close quote)

Sure, Mr. Marmalade, try to rationalize away the deaths of Syrians who never did anything to America. Tough decision (snicker)...but he did it anyway.

Reign of Idiots
Donald Trump. King of the horrifingly dumb and dangerously greedy.
by Chris Hedges

The idiots take over in the final days of crumbling civilizations. Idiot generals wage endless, unwinnable wars that bankrupt the nation. Idiot economists call for reducing taxes for the rich and cutting social service programs for the poor, and project economic growth on the basis of myth. Idiot industrialists poison the water, the soil and the air, slash jobs and depress wages. Idiot bankers gamble on self-created financial bubbles and impose crippling debt peonage on the citizens. Idiot journalists and public intellectuals pretend despotism is democracy. Idiot intelligence operatives orchestrate the overthrow of foreign governments to create lawless enclaves that give rise to enraged fanatics. Idiot professors, “experts” and “specialists” busy themselves with unintelligible jargon and arcane theory that buttresses the policies of the rulers. Idiot entertainers and producers create lurid spectacles of sex, gore and fantasy.

There is a familiar checklist for extinction. We are ticking off every item on it.

The idiots know only one word—“more.” They are unencumbered by common sense. They hoard wealth and resources until workers cannot make a living and the infrastructure collapses. They live in privileged compounds where they eat chocolate cake and order missile strikes. They see the state as a projection of their vanity. The Roman, Mayan, French, Habsburg, Ottoman, Romanov, Wilhelmine, Pahlavi and Soviet dynasties crumbled because the whims and obsessions of ruling idiots were law.

Donald Trump is the face of our collective idiocy. He is what lies behind the mask of our professed civility and rationality—a sputtering, narcissistic, bloodthirsty megalomaniac. He wields armies and fleets against the wretched of the earth, blithely ignores the catastrophic human misery caused by global warming, pillages on behalf of global oligarchs and at night sits slack-jawed in front of a television set before opening his “beautiful” Twitter account. He is our version of the Roman emperor Nero, who allocated vast state expenditures to attain magical powers, the Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang, who funded repeated expeditions to a mythical island of immortals to bring back the potion that would give him eternal life, and a decayed Russian royalty that sat around reading tarot cards and attending séances as their nation was decimated by war and revolution brewed in the streets.

This moment in history marks the end of a long, sad tale of greed and murder by the white races. It is inevitable that for the final show we vomited a grotesque figure like Trump. Europeans and Americans have spent five centuries conquering, plundering, exploiting and polluting the earth in the name of human progress. They used their technological superiority to create the most efficient killing machines on the planet, directed against anyone and anything, especially indigenous cultures, that stood in their way. They stole and hoarded the planet’s wealth and resources. They believed that this orgy of blood and gold would never end, and they still believe it. They do not understand that the dark ethic of ceaseless capitalist and imperialist expansion is dooming the exploiters as well as the exploited. But even as we stand on the cusp of extinction we lack the intelligence and imagination to break free from our evolutionary past.

The more the warning signs are palpable—rising temperatures, global financial meltdowns, mass human migrations, endless wars, poisoned ecosystems, rampant corruption among the ruling class—the more we turn to those who chant, either through idiocy or cynicism, the mantra that what worked in the past will work in the future, that progress is inevitable. Factual evidence, since it is an impediment to what we desire, is banished. The taxes of corporations and the rich, who have deindustrialized the country and turned many of our cities into wastelands, are cut, and regulations are slashed to bring back the supposed golden era of the 1950s for white American workers. Public lands are opened up to the oil and gas industry as rising carbon emissions doom our species. Declining crop yields stemming from heat waves and droughts are ignored. War is the principal business of the kleptocratic state.

Walter Benjamin wrote in 1940 amid the rise of European fascism and looming world war:

A Klee painting named Angelus Novus shows an angel looking as though he is about to move away from something he is fixedly contemplating. His eyes are staring, his mouth is open, his wings are spread. This is how one pictures the angel of history. His face is turned towards the past. Where we perceive a chain of events, he sees one single catastrophe, which keeps piling wreckage upon wreckage and hurls it in front of his feet. The angel would like to stay, awaken the dead, and make whole what has been smashed. But a storm is blowing from Paradise; it has got caught in his wings with such violence that the angel can no longer close them. The storm irresistibly propels him into the future to which his back is turned, while the pile of debris before him grows skyward. This storm is what we call progress.

Magical thinking is not limited to the beliefs and practices of pre-modern cultures. It defines the ideology of capitalism. Quotas and projected sales can always be met. Profits can always be raised. Growth is inevitable. The impossible is always possible. Human societies, if they bow before the dictates of the marketplace, will be ushered into capitalist paradise. It is only a question of having the right attitude and the right technique. When capitalism thrives, we are assured, we thrive. The merging of the self with the capitalist collective has robbed us of our agency, creativity, capacity for self-reflection and moral autonomy. We define our worth not by our independence or our character but by the material standards set by capitalism—personal wealth, brands, status and career advancement. We are molded into a compliant and repressed collective. This mass conformity is characteristic of totalitarian and authoritarian states. It is the Disneyfication of America, the land of eternally happy thoughts and positive attitudes. And when magical thinking does not work, we are told, and often accept, that we are the problem. We must have more faith. We must envision what we want. We must try harder. The system is never to blame. We failed it. It did not fail us.

All of our systems of information, from self-help gurus and Hollywood to political monstrosities such as Trump, sell us this snake oil. We blind ourselves to impending collapse. Our retreat into self-delusion is a career opportunity for charlatans who tell us what we want to hear. The magical thinking they espouse is a form of infantilism. It discredits facts and realities that defy the glowing cant of slogans such as “Make America great again.” Reality is banished for relentless and baseless optimism.

Half the country may live in poverty, our civil liberties may be taken from us, militarized police may murder unarmed citizens in the streets and we may run the world’s largest prison system and murderous war machine, but all these truths are studiously ignored. Trump embodies the essence of this decayed, intellectually bankrupt and immoral world. He is its natural expression. He is the king of the idiots. We are his victims.

“ISIS is hoping to spur current supporters around the world who are dormant, of which there are millions, into joining their caliphate by advertising acts like these, of which there are millions,” said Ryan Mauro, national security analyst for the Clarion Project, a nonprofit organization that educates the public about the threat of Islamic extremism. “They know that they can greatly increase their numbers by appealing to current radicals rather than the broader masses.”

Women are not spared the cruel brutality of ISIS, either.

The Syrian Observatory found that the terror group carried out more executions this week, murdering two married couples by beheading them publicly with a sword for “sorcery.”

“The Islamic State group executed two women by beheading them in Deir Ezzor province, and this is the first time the Observatory has documented women being killed by the group in this manner,” Rami Abdel Rahman, of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told the Daily Mail.

Other citizens suspected of practicing black magic or sorcery also have been killed, the organization reports, including a magician beheaded in recent weeks in the Iraqi province of Salahuddin.

“The practicing of anything that is not approved by Islamic State under their very strict interpretation of Islam is ‘Haram’ or forbidden,” said Veryan Khan, editorial director for the Florida-based Terrorism, Research & Analysis Consortium. “If the Islamic State thinks that sorcery is real, then black magic would be a threat to them and seen as a danger.”

ISIS stepped up its killing spree this week as it celebrated both Ramadan and its one-year anniversary as a caliphate in Iraq and Syria with three straight days of ruthless public punishments and executions. On June 30, 11 workers from al-Miadin endured live crucifixion and were forced to wear signs saying "70 lashes and to be crucified for 1 day for breaking the fast in Ramadan."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the most recent killing spree is less than a week, after ISIS released a video of 15 men executed in three terrible ways: Drowned in cages, having their head blown off with explosives and burning them alive in a car hit with a rocket launcher.

Last Friday, the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the death of 38 people in Tunisia who were gunned down, and another 27 people who died after a bomb rocked a Shia mosque in Kuwait.

“Islamic State executions are not merely retribution by the state for behavior seen as illegal,” said Khan, noting executions by the Islamic State include everything from burning alive victims, firing squads, beatings and beheadings, to drowning, explosions, and throwing people off of buildings. “The Islamic State uses executions to intimidate and dominate the local population, for diplomatic communiqués to world leaders, for recruitment purposes and to demonstrate the organization is in complete control.”

Eddie,
1. Trump didn't kill any members of ISIS (an organization funded by the US taxpayer and oil sales) when he shot our missiles at the Syrian airbase. He killed people who had never attacked the US.
2. If the US would stop funding ISIS then Syria could defeat them on their own.
3. Syria is a sovereign country. If you believe in the Golden Rule, you wouldn't approve of the US meddling in their internal affairs just as you wouldn't want another country meddling in ours. Why is that so hard to understand?
3. Spencer W. Kimball warned us about being a warlike people. I'm sick of war. Hopefully, some day you will be too.

CONSPIRACIES ISIS Conspiracy Theories That'll Freak You Out

Jacoby Bancroft

ISIS stands as one of the deadliest threats facing the world in the 2010s. The terrorist group is well-organized, well-equipped, and has tremendous global reach and capabilities. Given ISIS's status in the public consciousness in 2016, it's no surprise there are plenty of conspiracies surrounding the organization.

It's totally natural to wonder where ISIS came from, how the group became so well organized and funded so quickly. Without a complex knowledge of politics and history in Syria, Iraq, and the post-World War II Muslim world, these aren't easy questions to answer. Enter conspiracy theorists, who've cooked up plenty of ideas. Read on for a list of freaky, and in some cases very plausible, ISIS conspiracy theories.
The United States Funded the Creation of ISIS

The fear surrounding ISIS picked up tremendous momentum in 2013, but as this theory explains, the group started cooking with gas in 2010, thanks to the United States. At that time, the US was adamant about overthrowing the dictator in Syria, and so funded anti-government terrorist groups. The current leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, took over ISIS in May 2010. It's rumored he was able to do so thanks to a donation of about $20 to 30 million, which he received during the period of alleged US funding of Syrian terrorist groups.

This theory is not without historical precedent - in the 1970s, the CIA funded and trained Mujahidin fighters in Afghanistan to repel invading Soviets. That group evolved into the Taliban.

Is it possible ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is mind-controlled by the CIA as means of gathering together Iraqis who are anti-America? According to this theory, that's exactly what's happening. It's been reported that al-Baghdadi was arrested and held in American custody in Iraq for almost a year, in 2004. Conspiracy theorists would have you believe he was actually detained for more than five years, at Camp Bucca, Iraq . Why would the government lie about this? Because during those five years, the CIA turned al-Baghdadi into a Manchurian Candidate.

So why gather all these people, if they're anti-American? Well, if they're all together, they can be killed together.

The theorists behind this idea believe the CIA has a track record of brainwashing. They point to the Reverend Jim Jones, a clergyman who convinced hundreds of people to commit suicide with him, as another example of CIA brainwashing.

Is it possible the the United States, UK, and Israel worked together to create ISIS? According to Edward Snowden, the answer is yes. As per an unsubstantiated report from Gulf Daily News in Bahrain, Snowden claims to have documents proving that the intelligence services of those three countries worked together to create a terrorist organization able to attract all the extremists in the world to one place.

Why would they do this? To destabilize the Middle East and protect Zionist identity. The document Snowden supposedly leaked states, "the only solution for the protection of the Jewish state is to create an enemy near its borders." The thinking is that having such a dangerous enemy would give the Jewish state motive to wipe out Muslim extremists once and for all.

Most evidence attesting to the veracity of this claim appears exclusively on conspiracy theory, anti-American, or antisemitic websites. Take that as you will.

In a somewhat shocking Washington Post piece from 2010, former Army Intelligence Officer Jeff Stein revealed that the CIA filmed a fake Osama Bin Laden video in the lead up to the Iraq War in 2003. This development had unintended consequences, as many draw comparisons between old Bin Laden videos and ISIS beheading footage. Several facets of the ISIS videos have come under scrutiny; for instance, as production value of the videos rose from cellphone footage to high definition digital work, the brutality lessened, to the extent that many beheading videos are edited so viewers don't see the actual beheading.

You know that scene in the spy movie where the bad guy you despise turns out to be a good guy in disguise? What if that's happening with ISIS? This theory posits that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is actually an intelligence agent working for Israel. Some say his real name is Shimon Elliot, and he was born to Jewish parents and trained by Mossad. His supposed mission is to infiltrate groups that are a threat to Israel and destroy them from within. In addition to weakening the groups so Zionist forces can more easily destroy them, al-Baghdadi's work would unite Israel against an outside enemy.

In March of 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 mysteriously vanished. According to American Lieutenant General Thomas McInterney, the plane was hijacked by ISIS, so they could attack America on September 11, 2014. He was so convinced of this plan, he went on national news to declare that the terror threat level should be raised, and everyone should be on high alert. As it turns out, he was wrong. The attack never happened, and in September, 2015, pieces of the plane washed ashore on Reunion Island, off the coast of Madagascar. So probably ISIS doesn't have it.

The beheading of David Haines and Alan Henning were horrid events that furthered ISIS's global reputation as pure evil. Both these men were reportedly humanitarian aid workers, but a conspiracy theory surrounding their true intent in Syria has quickly gained traction.

As this theory points out, Haines worked for a company called Astraea, which dealt with drone technology, and the charity for which Henning volunteered was investigated for links to militants. These ties have lead some conspiracy theorists to believe the two might have been in Syria for a military-related reasons.

Here's a tasty contradiction for you - US citizens have joined ISIS at a time when the NSA is supposedly monitoring every move Americans make. Conspiracy theorists believe one of two things in regards to this: (1) The NSA notices this activity, but it's not that organization's job to stop terrorism, so the NSA does nothing; or, (2) the NSA doesn't stop Americans from joining ISIS because the US needs the war to continue for economic reasons. Both ideas seem pretty far fetched, in particular the latter, as the fight against ISIS is costing the US a pretty penny.

One of the scariest aspects about ISIS is the group's aptitude with social media, in particular Twitter. Their recruiting success via the platform has led some to question why Twitter doesn't shut down ISIS accounts, which it routinely does to other groups spewing hate speech. This theory doesn't hold much weight; it's clear the Redditor who concocted it is is angry about the difficulty in promoting white power via social media. Still, Internet trolls have rallied behind the theory.

Speaking of Twitter, in February of 2016, the site suspended 125,000 accounts associated with ISIS. Perhaps even more interestingly, in March 2016, hackers claimed to have traced several ISIS Twitter accounts to the British government.

Alexei Pushkov, the head of the Russian parliament's international affairs committee, dropped a major bombshell when he "revealed" that America's recent airstrikes against ISIS were all fake. He wrote that "the US-led coalition spent a whole year pretending they were striking ISIL targets but where are the results of these strikes?" He accused Obama of lying about the bombings, and even though it's probably just a way to undermine America, it has fueled quite a few conspiracy theories.

Respected Canadian economist and author Michael Chossudovsky entered the fray, saying, “From the very outset, this air campaign has not been directed against ISIS. The evidence confirms that the Islamic State is not the target. Quite the opposite. The air raids are intended to destroy the economic infrastructure of Iraq and Syria.”

Tamman Salam, prime minister of Lebanon, also got in on throwing shade, saying there "is clearly no seriousness" to America's campaign against ISIS. Statistics on US bombing of ISIS show there may be some validity to Salam's claim - the US drops an average of 43 bombs per day against ISIS, compared to the 1,039 dropped daily on Iraq during the initial siege of 2003.

At a G20 summit in November 2015, Russian president Vladimir Putin shocked the world when he revealed that Russian Intelligence compiled a list of 40 countries allegedly bankrolling ISIS. To be clear, Putin meant countries in which ISIS's private donors live, not countries with state agencies funding ISIS. Some of these countries are G20 member nations.

Conspiracies started when theorists noticed Putin's announcement didn't get much press in the US. Why would such a major news item not get any play in America? Well, according to the conspiracy theorists, either US news agencies suspected Putin was lying or incorrect, or that he was in fact absolutely true and the media covered it up. Why? To protect Obama. To smite Putin. In the name of ISIS. Because some of these alleged donors have media ties. Ideas abound in the minds of conspiracy theorists.

Could ISIS serve the greater good? So postulates the crazy theory of a Redditor, a theory with no evidence, which is less a theory than it is is wild speculation. The Redditor claims ISIS is far too advanced to be a rag-tag terrorist group, and, as such, it makes more sense that the organization was created by wealthy nations to unite the world in peace and prevent World War 3. ST SIMEON'S CITADEL A MONUMENT CHARACTERIZING SYRIAN ARCHITECTURE THROUGH AGES

Six kilometers North West of Aleppo, over a protruding rocky cliff surrounded by valleys in the north, south and east, forming natural defensive lines, perches St. Simeon Citadel, considered one of the wonders of local architecture. The citadel reflects the influence of Byzantine and classical arts on Syrian art of building.

This influence is represented by slim columns topped with decorated capitals which seem as if they are leaning with the wind, and also by the beautiful octagon decorated with symmetrical sides and curves based on wonderful pieces of art. Colors of the stone match the surrounding colors of nature. Porticos, gates, and windows seem as if they are open to the wind.
