Powers of the US President, according to the US Constitution:

Post by lundbaek »

Powers of the US President, according to the US Constitution:

Control the military forces during war and peacetime and the military forces of the states when they are called into national service, (Note: only Congress has the power to actually declare war)

Protect the nation from invasion,

Grant pardons and reprieves,

Make treaties and agreements with other nations, but only upon the advice and consent of the US Senate,

Receive ambassadors and other public ministers,

Appoint judges, certain administrators, and diplomatic officers, but only upon the consent of the US Senate,

Appoint Cabinet members as advisers,

Make temporary appointments to fill vacancies while the Senate is in recess.

Did I miss any ?

Should we not not expect or at least hope for President Trump to, ASAP:

stop all current military actions until the US Congress issues a declaration of war,

stop all illegal immigration and violations of our national borders,

stop the influx of refugees,

shut down FedGov involvement in and financial aid to public schools,

initiate action to get the US out of the UN.

And that just for openers !
