Hey, I coudn't help but be reminded of the 45 degree fallen tee of the "mystic symbol":Ezra wrote:Even being the roman salute. That's not the example us to follow is it?gkearney wrote:In fairness to Bellamy the salute, shown in the image, was first used in 1892 and was in used into the the 1920's and early 1930's. It was derived from the Roman salute. It fell out of use one it was adopted by the Italian fascists and the Nazis in the 1930's. Much like the swastika this is an example of how appropriation by sinister forces can change the meaning of a symbol over time.buffalo_girl wrote:And here is the original salute called the Bellamy Salute:
Nice, right?!
A republic that turned democracy. Voted itself into poverty and corruption. But I guess that's exactly the coarse we are following isant it.
Sad we can't learn from the mistakes of the past.

In 1848, Professor Edwin Worth gathered stray artifacts from the Michigan mounds made of copper, slate, ceramic, and stone, carved in an unknown script. Nearly all were etched with a cuneiform symbol that looked like IH/.
What I was told about this symbol, by one who studied the ancient mound builders, was that it was a representation of The Father, Son,(possibly also the Holy Ghost) and if I recall corrently the "fallen one" (thus the 45 degree falling tee and the 45 degree fallen salute). Anyway, the thought came, so your stuck with it now .
