What great comments about finding balance!

My feeling has always been that we can either fight Babylon or build Zion. If we go the first route, even if we destroy Babylon, we are simply left with ruins. If we go the second route, Babylon crumbles under its own weight as people flee to Zion and abandon the world AND we create a holy habitation for the Lord. It's a win-win!

Or using another analogy I've repeated too many times to count.... the way to defeat the darkness is to cast a light so bright that there are no more shadows.

Ok , I have repented. My post to Chirp was over the top. I have admited I cant try to be humorous like shadow But ...Calling me unchrist like for that is way way out of bounds. However I was successful in luring the ever so illusive Mark onto this thread. But I am passionate for Liberty and Justice and will never apologize for that. So maybe you could rephrase the question in a more charitable and loving light. But where are the answers Mark? I now have asked 3 simple questions and you respond by acusations and preaching. I even reposted your video for those who might have missed it. I am exercising patience, kindness and Love in the face of clever and illusive tactics. And with what cunning and Charm, you even have the sisters bamboozeled or is that beguiled.

That's exactly how the Savior did it as He walked the earth. I heartily agree.

Also wanted to say, sometimes I used to wonder about Pres. Hinckley and his persistent rose colored glasses. I always adored him but sometimes I really didn't get how he could be so darn cheerful ALL THE TIME.

It's because he was actively involved in building the kingdom and no amount of darkness could counter the light inside of him. He harbored no resentments to sinners, he could see people the way Christ sees people. How incredible. What a wonderful way to live.

A woman in our ward spoke recently about charity. She asked a person she knows who is especially loving and charitable how she can love everyone as she does. Her friends answer was that years before she'd begun praying daily to see others the way Christ sees them. I've begun to include that in my own prayers and I can already tell a difference in the way I view other people.

As I have pondered this topic recently, i have come to the conclusion that the only way for things to change is for Americans to accept Christ and his gospel. Without the gift of the HG noone is strong enough to overcome the devil. He has too much power now. People are covetous and this problem is what destoyed the jaredites. Because of all the covetousness here (socialism) so many come to expect soemone else to provide for thier needs. At some point it becomes parasitical and cannabalisitic. When the canabalistic economy fails, then the killing starts and the people destroy themselves.

Only when Americans are virtuous and seek to give rather than covet and steal can we have a free society. Missionary work is a key component of liberty. Although I doubt many will listen to the message and convert and repent until thier economic freedom is completely destroyed. Abiding the constitution is a "higher" law that can only be under stood by at least a "terrestrial" people. Our nation is at more of a telestial level now, so hope that true liberty will be upheld is a pipedream.

As I mentioned on another post, I recently had a very strong impression that my duty now was to warn of impending disaster and to plead for people to accept Christ as thier only hope of staying safe in the coming calamities. Righting the ship of state is hopeless now.
Amen!!!

natasha wrote:How true, Mark....and in that effort I wonder if we really need to consider our approach to people. Do our words emit fear or are they filled with honest caring and love. For instance, if I am aware that I need to lose some weight and someone says to me, "Gosh you're getting fat!" Well then, the first thing I look for is a snicker (candy bar)! So, both the person with the message and the receiver of the message need to adjust their manner of teaching and learning....which, in my opinion, would be an act of humility for both.

That is such a key to penetrating someones heart Nat. If someone takes an air of superiority with me and starts preaching with a self righteous attitude it will just turn me the other way. We talk so much about combinations and govt. being orchestrated by the adversary. If we approach people in a spirit of condemnation and fear from a teaching position are we not just playing right into the adversaries hands by using his methods in our approach? Jesus is our example. Charity above all.
By the same token the wicked take the truth to be hard! Christ was relegated to the utilization of parables such that only those in tune could understand.

Nephi's brothers tried to kill him multiple times in response to his preaching to them. What you speak of my friend is pride!

If we are lover's of truth....then we will seek the truth and not the appealing lies. If the truth is hard perhaps we should look internally at the cause of those feelings.

The prophet Hananiah told the people what they wanted to hear or what was appealing to them while the prophet Jeremiah spoke the cold hard truth.....and spent much of his life in prison as a result of that. Whom did the Lord love???

There were times that President Hinckley's mantle weighed heavily upon him and dimmed his normally buoyant and cheerfully positive personality....I remember a priesthood session of conference where he talked about debt and saving money for a rainy day....and that rainy days were coming.....that the burden of wicked seemed to especially weigh heavily upon him.

I agree Missionary work and working together are components of our work . And so is advocating liberty, and exposing the crocodiles. The enemies of Christ. As per hundreds of quotes from the scriptures and prophets. Is this not the FREEDOM FORUM? Now please back on topic. NGL wrote Quote. There is a lot of good that comes from our government and a lot of that good comes from the CIA, FBI, military etc.
I am grateful for these organizations and for the United States government.'" NGL has also said,Quote: "I know what I am talking about." Now the CIA has spent billions of taxpayer dollars, and what is one thing good that has come from all of it ? I ask NGL and especially my good friend the illusive Mark. Illusive as in illuminati

Moroni 7
10 Wherefore, a man being evil cannot do that which is good; neither will he give a good gift.

11 For behold, a bitter fountain cannot bring forth good water; neither can a good fountain bring forth bitter water; wherefore, a man being a servant of the devil cannot follow Christ; and if he follow Christ he cannot be a servant of the devil.

12 Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil; for the devil is an enemy unto God, and fighteth against him continually, and inviteth and enticeth to sin, and to do that which is evil continually.

13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.

14 Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil.

15 For behold, my brethren, it is given unto you to judge, that ye may know good from evil; and the way to judge is as plain, that ye may know with a perfect knowledge, as the daylight is from the dark night.

16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.

17 But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him.

18 And now, my brethren, seeing that ye know the light by which ye may judge, which light is the light of Christ, see that ye do not judge wrongfully; for with that same judgment which ye judge ye shall also be judged.

19 Wherefore, I beseech of you, brethren, that ye should search diligently in the light of Christ that ye may know good from evil; and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing, and condemn it not, ye certainly will be a child of Christ.

Doctrine and Covenants 42
64 And even now, let him that goeth to the east teach them that shall be converted to flee to the west, and this in consequence of that which is coming on the earth, and of secret combinations.

Doctrine and Covenants 45
57 For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day.

Daniel 12
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Well, Thank you, Dennis!

May Honor and Righteousness bring each of us the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness we seek for ourselves, our families, and for this Sacred Land - 'choice above all other lands'!

and, for the entire Earth by our example to the Nations.

This Sunday affords an excellent opportunity to testify in church of impending disaster and of the importance for people to accept Christ as thier only hope of staying safe in the coming calamities.
