Because all political power rightly resides with the people. People are the creators and masters of the government. And member states are the creators and masters of Federal government. Anything that violates natural unalienable rights of the individual is immoral, and has no right to exist. Government has no moral right to do anything that the people have no moral right to do individually, because the only legitimate authority that the government has, has been delegated to it by the individuals governed, and no one can delegate an authority he does not have. This is a fundamental principle of liberty, without which liberty cannot survive and prosper.
Only Free Markets produce prosperity, not government theft.
