I spent quite a bit of time yesterday researching this and preparing a reply, but when I went to submit it, my computer froze up. I decided not to spend any more time on it.

I do think I need to respond now, however.

Here is a photo on the NY Times blog "The Caucus" in a post entitled "Live Blogging Obama's News Conference":

Notice the absence of flags. Would they doctor the image? Why? They are not even discussing the flags being gone.

That being said, I would like to note that the press conference was held in the east room, in a portion of the room not traditionally used for a press conference.

I don't know who was responsible for setting the room up for the conference. Was it a mistake to put things the way they were? Was it intentional for some reason? I don't know. We will see if there are any other "flagless" conferences.

Nevertheless, this is real. There is so much disinformation any more, I feel that I have to research every article I read anywhere to sort out what is real and what is not.

Well said, and that's the main reason I don't listen to Rush, Hannity, et al. (That and the 15-minute commercial blocks. Makes you wonder. ) It only maintains the illusion of the two-party system. There is only one party.
