Friends & Foes?

What is this little feature? I added a couple people as "friends," but not sure what that did except create a list.

I believe that "foe"ing someone makes it so that their posts are blocked - it's like putting someone on your "ignore" list - I think.

I have no idea of what "friend"ing someone does.
