Forum Rankings (i.e. captain of 10, 50, 100, 1000) NEW IDEA?

We've been using this forum ranking for a while "captain of 10, 50, 100, 1000"... I'm open to new ideas if anyone has any suggestions for a new forum rank system.

Also, if anyone wants their own custom-rank just tell me what you want me to set it as... I think at this point the only one with a custom rank besides me ("web master") is Chelc ("the law").

I think I went with those specific numbers 10, 50, 100, 1000 is because those are specific to how the Law of Moses was setup... I don't think they had a captain of 500. (not that we couldn't... and I could wrong, maybe there was a captain of 500?)

Not that the ranking system has any real significance but I'm also open to ideas for new ranks to replace what we've got now. In the past one of the top ranks was "level 33 Illuminated" but some people didn't like that B-)

How about along with 10, 50...etc, a rank be designated? I'm not much of a historian, but whatever the ranking system was for the troops back during the times of battle encompassing the signing of the Constitution sounds plausible to me. Wasn't there a cry for freedom then, too?

Looks like there were colors worn for distinction so as to tell what rank a soldier held.

I have really liked the captain thing. Some of the other forums put to much emphasis on ratings. But I am new, so I know others would like something new. I'm for it.
I wish we could say thanks. Sometimes I just want people to know I appreciate their posts, even though I don't comment. The thumbs down thing, not good ( meaning no thanks, didn't like the post) Plus I don't want anything like AVOW!
And yes, Jason would ALWAYS get the award for most posts! But he should! I really like his informative posts.

One last thing. If we start over, can we all start at the beginning.

I also concur with Juliette that a "thanks " button would be nice. Says thanks by... (lists your username) so that the poster knows who has read and appreciated the post.
