Forum Rankings (i.e. captain of 10, 50, 100, 1000) NEW IDEA?

I feel that those with 5000+ deserve some recognition, don't you?

I'm not sure. I haven't decided if having 5,000+ posts is actually an accomplishment that needs any recognition ... it's a self-rewarding accomplishment I don't even have 5000 posts. For sure it shows some kind of commitment to the site, which is cool. There are a lot of long time forum members that I appreciate having on this forum. There are 2 people that have actually surpassed 10,000 posts (one was spread out among multiple usernames).

Guess I'd better look up some of your old awesome posts CtS and thank them.

Seriously, though, I have struggled with the pride issue when it comes to the thanks button on other forums. I like the button because I can learn to give thanks to others and not concern myself over the praise of "men" given or withheld from me. And I honestly think that people should be acknowledged for good posts when, without the button, they would think they were being overlooked or ignored.

I'm a member of one site that allows a person to change their "rank" from whatever they call people with a certain amount of posts to whatever phrase or word the user pleases. You just type it in in your control panel and save it.
