HOW TO embed a YOUTUBE video on a forum post (NEW Method 2015-05-27)

UPDATED 2015-05-27 - deleting the original post since there is now an easier/better way in place for embedding YouTube videos. This also makes the videos better on mobile devices.

Now you can just click the "youtube" button. How to use: If this is the video you want to post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE7PKRjrid4 - just copy the video ID at the end of the video URL ( zE7PKRjrid4 ). Put that in-between the two YouTube code tags, like so:

Code: Select all

And here's what it looks like in action...

Enjoy:

Why do those young girls want to listen to old man music? And report the girl with the sleeveless top to her bishop for being immodest.

Yea, it worked. So the flash option is gone to all users?

The Flash option is no longer needed, this YouTube code is a lot better and mobile-friendly.

Easier is better. But you know how change is for some old folks. I like it, Brian. :D

The only thing I say is problematic is the ability for other posters to reduce the size of a repeated video. Some posters copy the previous post and therefore posts the same video that can be repeated several times on the same page. So that I do not have to repeat a video, I either delete the link altogether or downsize the video, using flash options so that it barely shows up. Maybe it doesn't matter, but some videos perhaps shouldn't be repeated, what one person sees as funny and cute, another may see as offensive. Not all videos are top-notch nice ones. I guess the best option at this point is to remember to delete the video link in our posts to others so that repetition is minimal.

Just a thought.

The time line still stands for drastic cooling and incredible shifts in Earth’s climate system as the grand solar minimum commences from 2018-2023.
Episode #27 with Inventor Lee Wheelbarger is about getting mentally prepared for a pioneering lifestyle and a look at Electrical phenomenon around the planet that is surging to be noticeable by all.
When the New Madrid fault line awakens again as its doing now, the gas and oil pipes will be severed and fuels will be unavailable. If this happens during winter 10s of millions of households will be without a fuel source to heat their homes, not to mention the ripple effects and spinoffs into the economy.
Moving agriculture to indoor led growing facilities as the outdoor climate will become too unstable and too hostile. It’s all about rotary drum grow systems, the correct wave lengths of light to grow plants and the machinery / hardware involved to replace lost crops from the fields.
Countries have been annexing land for a decade knowing this Grand Solar Minimum was coming, but the Obama administration did nothing to prepare. We also delve into the certainty of scientists that show massive shifts in global cloud patterns due to increased cosmic rays and subsequent effects on our weather with more clouds.

I think this thread should be pinned to the top of this subforum.

Are there than just one option you can enable?

It would be nice if LDSFF would allow embedding video from other sites other than just Youtube which censors a lot

I really, really wish we could embed videos with time stamps. For example, this link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0side9z8qM&t=75s cannot be embedded. Sure, I can put "Z0side9z8qM" in the youtube command, but Z0side9z8qM&t=75s yields this

not the actual video beginning 75 seconds in.

That would be a great feature!

It may be done thusly:
Image

That one wouldn’t embed normally, and the hardest part was getting the starting image. To do that I liked the video, then blew up the little image from my list of liked videos. This blurred the image somewhat, but made for good effect in this instance.

Code: Select all

There’s the code, but any url can work with any image of any size. I did one for bitchute too. The liked image didn’t have the play arrow, so I placed the code block between the words Click Me.

But that was an embedded image that jumped to a video (which is cool, so many thanks for that, which thing I did not know could be done), and the video was at minute zero.

I'm wanting to embed a video in a post that begins at a certain time - a minute in or five minutes and 33 seconds in - that type of thing.
