In those states in which Chuck Baldwin is a write-in candidate, write-in votes will be counted, or at least should be counted. But be sure to follow the directions carefully for the write-in.

A Baldwin vote will ONLY be counted when the state recognizes a candidate as a write-i because he followed the state's rule. Sure I can write-in Baldwin's name but my vote won't count as he did NOT apply with at least 500 signatures. Check with your Election Commission to make sure Baldwin is a recognized write-in candidate.

That said, Barr is on many more ballots, has some serious campaign dollars to buy National radio ads and some TV ads, and does get National news coverage at times. He is not known by many to be a candidate but many more than Baldwin. I ask that on vote day you give all this serious consideration and cast you vote for Barr.

When you look at Bob Barr's positions, it is interesting that he is the candidate for the Libertarian Party. He does not support much of the Libertarian social platform. Is the Libertarian Party shifting?

I am still plan to vote for Chuck Baldwin.

Yes, Barr has been and is a social conservative. That is one reason I like him.

What he advocates is opposition to abortion, same sex "marriage, etc at the STATE level. He voted for the Marriage Amendment (which nationalized the issue) when he was a Congressman from GA but since becoming a "libertarian social conservative", he refutes that vote the same way he refutes his vote for the Patriot Act and for the Iraqi War. He has grown and had the guts to leave the GOP and make himself a target. He is a STATES RIGHTER!!!!!

And yes there are elements within the LP who feel Barr made a coup and is a NeoCon plant. In hearing their comments and checking their past, I've found that most of these comments are coming from the anarchy part of the LP which IMO has stopped the LP from making major inroads in the past. Just a bunch of kooks.

BTW, I'm NOT a member of the LP. I'm an Independent, although currently registered in the GOP so I could vote for RP in NC.

I recently found footage of Christine's Smith response to Bob Barr's nomination. It appears that the Libertarians had Neo-cons flood their convention to help insure Barr's nomination. At least that is how she saw it as see conceded and then left the party since it was no longer Libertarian.

Proud, Christin Smith is bitter because she didn't get the nomination. She could have "flooded the Consvention" with anarchists but didn't have the support to do that. Much SOURGRAPES. I saw the same thing happen in 2000 with the Reform Party. Bucannan got the nomination through hard work but was also accused of rigging the Convention. FYI, I ran for NC Governor as a strong Buschana. supporter.

Well, that tells me a lot. I would have voted for Christine. I was hoping to see her as Ron Paul's VP pick. I have never heard her say anything about anarchy or atheism.

Everything I have found on her, has been good. Please bring forth your evidence.

The Libertarians from my area that attended the convention also felt that it was taken over. They felt that Barr is not a Libertarian.

Proud, I never said Smith was an atheist??? But she does lean towards the anarchist side of the LP. That's fine with me but IF one does that, yes Barr could be seen as a very conservative libertarian especially on social issues. BUT, bottom line, Smith had her chance and didn't win the nomination. No one was prevented from getting their delegates to the Convention???
